I have ordered pizza here a couple of times and coming from Brooklyn I was not impressed, However… tonight I ordered the Madison salad, mozzarella sticks, broccoli roll and garlic knots at midnight and the food was fresh, I have to say I was impressed. The salad was huge and they did not skimp on the ingredients. The broccoli roll was perfect, not greasy from the cheese, mozzarella were very good too. The garlic knots were only warm and not the best I ever had. I will definitely order the 1st3 items again and try others on the menu next time.

When it comes to Madison’s I have to say, their food is pretty good. Their pizza is good and so are their wings. The one thing however, that you won’t get at Madison’s is good customer service. I have eaten here a number of times and each and every time I come in the young man behind the counter looks like he despises me and everyone else who walks into this place, and it’s not just him everyone who I have dealt with here always seems to have an attitude. The last time I went here I placed a pick up order on the phone, I asked for a medium pizza, the kid on the phone then asked me if I wanted it sliced into six or eight slices. I responded with«I don’t care slice it however you want». When I arrived to pick it up they said they made a large pie for me. After explaining to them that there must have been a mistake and that I would rather wait for them to make me a medium pie as I did not want to pay the extra few dollars for a large. They both said that I was wrong and that I asked for an 8-cut pie, which I am assuming is a large? After being berated by them for a few minutes for ordering the wrong thing one of them slammed the large pie on the counter and then charged me for a medium. Now i know it’s nice that they gave me a little discount but the way that I was treated that day in addition to how I am treated every time I come in is enough to keep me from ever coming back to this restaurant. The pizza is good but it is not worth being treated like I am a bother to the people that work here even though I was giving them repeated business. Honestly there are other pizzerias in albany that have pizza which is just as good if not better and they will treat you with respect and humanity. Because of the very poor service here I would not recommend anyone eat here

This place has been really hit or miss, but I’ve never had a truly bad pizza. The vegetable pizza has never let me down,& the hours are great for anyone with a weird schedule.

Decent pizza shop with choices including calzones, hot subs, cold subs, salads, wings, appetizers, and of course pizza. We ordered for delivery on a Saturday before noon and were told it would take about 45 minutes. They were right, it took just about that much time. The cheese calzone was a large crescent and stuffed with tons of ricotta cheese. We ordered garlic parm wings(eh, could’ve been better) that were a little too crisp for my taste and not juicy enough, although garlicky enough. The wings were served with bleu cheese dressing, celery, and carrot sticks. The chef salads were also large and could easily be split between two persons, loaded with ham, turkey, and roast beef. We’ve had the chicken bacon ranch pizza here before but it was nothing to write home about. Overall a decent place to grab a quick bite if you’re around the area or want free delivery!

We had to stop coming here sadly. We placed an order but my cell phone was acting out. We called Madison’s Pizza asking where our delivery was, we where yelled at because they thought we where tricking the restaurant by putting in a false order. This pizza spot has awesome food but the owner and employees have bad statute so be careful

I love Madison pizza! Oh how it reminds me of college. Now I can confirm they do in fact have great pizza because college has come and gone and now i sometimes eat their pizza when it’s not 2am and I haven’t been drinking so all my tastebuds are in working order. Favs? Buffalo chicken and chicken parm. I think they are better when you drop in and get a slice than when you order delivery however. It’s never quite as crispy when you order in. So make the trip, rub elbows with the college crowd and get yourself some good pizza. Why isn’t my rating higher? Because it’s a dive pizza shop. With that being said its my fav dive pizza shop around. Skip the wings and extras here. Just go for slices. You can’t go wrong.

Decent! I’ve ordered delivery a bunch of times, and it’s always fast and reasonably priced.

According to other people’s recommendation, I expected good things from Madison. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered my pizza and forty minutes later, I called again to see if it was on its way and check the driver had my number. The guy reassured me it was and he told me that he got my number off caller ID. I tried to tell him that I had given him my number but the guy disagreed. I let it go, thinking it wasn’t important. The pizza got here a half hour after I called the second time. I live 5, 10 minutes at most away from this place. I have the proof on my phone. I paid the driver and brought in the pizza. When I opened it, I found that it was the wrong order. I called the place and the guy tried to tell me that I gave him the wrong order. Obviously he just didn’t want to admit he got it wrong. I asked him to give me the right order and he told me «there should be no missing slices» and«to keep the pizza in tact» because he was going to pick it up. Why would he want that? Did he want to sell someone else SECONDHANDPIZZA?! Needless to say we were disgusted and canceled the order and kept the wrong pizza. On top of everything, the pizza was cold. Never ordering from this place again.

I’m on a quest to find the best thin-slice pizza in Albany and Madison’s is one of my first stops. I’m a big fan of thin slice pizza and here’s what I like about Madison’s: they are consistent – thin slice, crust not overcooked, pizza holds together. Those are worthy attributes. Who likes it when crust is so overcooked it crumbles in your teeth? Or when have the cheese from a slice suddenly comes off in a glob? Or it’s a crap shoot what the slice will be like on a particular day. Now, here’s where it could get a bit better. The slice is a little bland and the tomato flavor a little weak. Madison’s only uses mozzarella but might benefit from adding a bit of cheese with a little bite. I solve the problem by adding a little parmesan and salt. Addendum, end of February, 2015: After sampling a number of pizza joints in Albany, I’ve brought my rating down a little for Madison’s, from four to three stars, although I still like this place.

The pizza was great, but the wings were even better(great price, too!). What made the experience memorable, though, was the pizza guy. He was friendly, funny, and all-around cool!

Needed an emergency substitute dinner after a terrible Jamaican restaurant experience earlier that evening. We had never eaten from Madison’s before, but we were starving, and most places were closing. Turns out, we made a great choice. Ordered a mozzarella and ricotta calzone. The dough was had a great texture, along with a garlic and parm sprinkling on top. Cheese was still hot when delivered. Also had a roasted turkey sub, added bacon and Russian dressing. Phenomenal. I expected a large, disgusting sub filled with ice burg lettuce, as most late delivery places will give you. Our sub was about medium, and very well put together. Tasted fresh, which surprised us. Will definitely eat there again.

The pizza was good but the wings were great. So good and lots of wing sauce. Will order from here again.

I have ordered from here several times before and I love their pizza and for the most part their delivery service till tonight. I ordered a pizza, soda and two salads with extra dressings. I didn’t receive none of my extra dressing(three) and one salad had the incorrect dressing. Very disappointing since I work overnights at a facility and it is not like a have dressing! I guess ordering two hours before closing is not good so disappointed

Great pizza and fast service! A bit shy on the specialty pizza toppings though for the price. Make sure you try the Italian sandwhich, my favorite!

Worst customer service I have ever received!!! I just moved to Albany two weeks ago. After an exhausting move we decided to get some pizza, but had no clue where to order it from. I went online and searched on Unilocal for some pizza delivery that was close by and had decent reviews. I saw Madison’s had online ordering so I looked over the online menu and ordered a cheese pizza and noticed they had 20 wings for $ 7.99, what a deal! Everything went smooth, our order came quick and we enjoyed the average pizza and wings. We decided to order for pizza again tonight, thought we would try The Fountain but they didn’t deliver so we went with Madison’s because we got such a good deal on the wings last time, but when I went to place the order online I could only pay with credit, and I wanted to pay with cash this time so I placed the order by phone. When the delivery man came he told me the total and it was much higher than what I paid last time, so I asked to see the receipt. They had charged me $ 14.99 for the wings, so I explained to the driver that this was not the price online and showed him the website on my laptop. He said that the price was wrong and all he knows is that restaurant charges $ 7.99 for 10 wings and $ 14.99 for 20 wings. It didn’t seem like I was going to get anywhere with him, and I didn’t want to shoot the messenger so I paid him and decided to call the restaurant. When I called the restaurant and explained the situation the man on the phone was very defensive and loud with me. He told me I was wrong, that the prices online were correct.(He was looking at the Eat Street menu, and when I tried to explain that I was looking at the Unilocal menu… well he didn’t understand.) I asked to speak with the owner and he continued to yell… eventually I hung up. To my surprise the owner did call me from his house. He said that his restaurant was not on Unilocal.I told him I would give him the web address so he could see for himself. He put his son on the phone and I directed him to the online menu. His son told him that I was right, that the prices online were wrong. They continued to speak in a different language with each other for about ten minutes before the owner got back on the phone and proceeded to accuse me of taking advantage of his business because I had already gotten the wings for the wrong price once and I wanted the wings for the same price a second time. At this point I realized I was going to get nowhere with him, and I had just wasted $ 30 on a cold dinner that I was too pissed off to eat. Half an hour later the manager of the restaurant(not the owner) called me back and offered me a $ 7 coupon for Eat Street, but I would have to set up the account while I was on the phone with him so he could send it to me. I declined his offer and told him I would not be getting pizza there again. And the pizza wasn’t even that @&#$ing good!!!

Would have been nice to have been told I wasn’t in their delivery zone before I waited about 45 minutes for a pizza that they never intended to deliver. Apparently they recently changed their delivery areas and have not updated their ordering process to account for it. Can’t comment on the food since obviously, I didn’t get to eat it.

I order delivery from here all the time. The cheeseburgers are the beat delivery cheeseburger you will get anywhere. I know. I was shocked too, but my roommate got me to try one a few years ago and it was phenomenal. Pretty much everything I’ve ordered from there has been good. They are also one of the latest places open that delivers in albany. Give it a go.

So, I’m still hunting for the best pizza in Albany. I tried their chicken, broccoli ranch pizza, and some garlic knots here the other night. The garlic knots we’re incredibly dry, the garlic sauce on them had a nice flavor, but they were cooked in a way where no moisture could get inside them. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was pretty disappointing. They used grilled chicken instead of breaded chicken which really detracted from the overall taste. It didn’t have much seasoning on it, kinda bland. I will say that their pizza was not super greasy which is a plus! They also have super thin crust. Counter service was fine, and the place looked pretty popular. Prices were on par with everyone else, 5 knots for $ 2, and $ 3 for a specialty slice.

There’s something about their pizza that’s addictive. Maybe it’s the generous cheese, the crispy crust, the tasty sauce, or the combination of all of these. It’s never too oily nor too salty especially compared to the pizza/chicken wings from another vendor across the street. I particularly recommend Chicken Bella and the Vegetable Ranch. The calzone is good too. Their chicken wings, however, is just okay — not special.
