They were very helpful. Made a good match to our existing paint color, and also were helpful in selecting new paints. Prices are competitive with others in the area.

Totally over priced! Went in this Sunday to get some BIN primer the guy wanted to charge me $ 65 a gallon! That’s over $ 20 more per gallon than across the street at East Bay Paint Center or Pastime hardware. Either this guy is skimming the register or the owners of this store are out right crooks. Will never go back.

I had a problem with an insufficient covering of a cherry-red paint on a new gate in front of my house, after I applied three coats. The problem was that the white primer was still showing through, and I had specifically asked a Kelly-Moore technician about the primer. I returned and told the store manager I was dissatisfied. He explained that with new red latex paints, the primer needed to be gray or tan, as these paints were somewhat translucent, and white would indeed show through. However, since I had not been apprised of that before I applied the white primer, this man personally came to my house, on two separate occasions, including a SUNDAYMORNING, when I wasn’t even there to greet him, and applied two additional coats of the red paint to the gate. After he finished, he left for me a brand new quart of the same color overcoat«for touch-up,» a brand new brush and a brand new roller. Talk about generosity and decency above and beyond the call of duty! I’m still amazed.

I wanted to repaint the living room in my new apartment(damn landlord painted EVERYTHING in yucky semigloss). I’m color challenged, so I spent a lot of time running between Kelly Moore, the East Bay Paint store across the street, and my apartment to test out swatches. I wound up choosing a Kelly Moore color, and got better service there too. True, the other place is just a lot busier. But when you’re not a contractor or decorator and just want a few cans of paint, it’s nice to have people available to help you and give you useful advice. In particular, I was struggling to find a white for the ceiling to match the color I chose for my walls. The KM the manager there suggested that I just take the lightest shade on the card and cut the pigment down to 50%. I love, love the result. I’ll definitely go back when I work up the nerve to do the bedroom.

Kelly-Moore paint is really top notch stuff. Forget about that slap-dash glop at the big orange store. That’s for apartment managers. I have K-M exterior paint on the side of the house that gets blasted by sun, wind, and rain and it has been holding up really well. Word to the wise– Paint in general does not seem to weather as well when it’s been thinned for a spraygun. My hand brushed work is lasting much longer. Also very good is Benjamin Moore(East Bay Paint) across the street. Review coming next.

You gotta love Kelly Moore. They spent a lot of time with me mixing paints to my exact specifications drop by drop. I painted my entire apartment down to the hallways with gorgeous yellows, blues and beiges. They custom mixed all the paint for me and even gave me a bulk discount. These people are AWESOME!
