Food is good. But so fucking rude employees they don’t answer your question. Reply you really rudely. I almost punched one the face like grow up. I’m paying for my food and I want you to be nice to ask me what I like never going to that place again or I might go to jail

Went after 8pm in a Friday night. People milling about the parking lot, but not feeling unsafe. The place was busy, but a short line and up to the cashier. Popeyes has that $ 5 box special with two pieces of chicken, two side orders and a biscuit going on right now. Leg thigh fries and beans and rices. Fries were soggy, less one star. Thigh was super fresh, drumstick was. I’ve been here before, sometimes great, sometimes good, sometimes ugh. This was average good.

I went in thinking I was going to get food similar to KFC but I was mistaken. It was on par with a 5 star restaurant. Someone should give this Popeyes a Michelin star. I got the rippin’ chicken with mash potatoes and extra biscuits. I stepped out of the projects of Albany and into the bayou of Louisiana. The service was impeccable. I got a super nice cashier by the name of Zero, hospitality oozed from her pores. It’s going to be my new Friday lunch spot. Can’t wait to go back.

Staff at this location was super courteous. Chicken was fresh. Plenty of parking because its in a strip mall. You arnt just strip-mallin’ here… youre strip BALLIN with that bomb spicy cajun chicken!

Weird thing, this location is a storefront in a strip mall? Strange. As usual, Popeye’s employees are totally disinterested in working expediently. It’s like asking for a kidney to get an employee to move like he cares about keeping his job. They talk and talk and talk to each other but move slow as death to fill or take your order. Food is typical Popeye’s, nothing to comment on as it tastes just like every other Popeye’s. How about a little motivation there employees? Look alive!

If you must do fast food chain chicken… this is FAR above the rest of them. A twice a year event… and spicy is hot(you will feel it twice). Way better than that greasy yardbird from kentucky.

Personally I like a juicer fried chicken, have tried the spicy and mild one. I would say it’s average.

In the battle of the best fried chicken wars I’ve constantly heard good things, if not exuberant praise, about the chicken at Popeyes. Tonight I had a chance to stop in and try it. I wasn’t interested in trying anything other than the chicken so I ordered an 8 piece mix for $ 10.99. Not being familiar with the variations offered, I was surprised when the cashier asked if I wanted spicy or mild. Being a fan of spicy food, that was my choice. There was plenty of precooked pieces on a shelf between the ordering counter and the kitchen all sorted by body part and apparently by spicy and mild. I wasn’t planning on eating all that chicken right then, I thought it would be nice if I brought some home for the wife to try also. But I also didn’t want to blame a twenty ride home for any possible negative impact on my first taste of the chicken. So, as soon as I got into the car I opened the package to try a piece. There appeared to be two each of breast, thigh, wing, and leg(drumstick). I chose a leg for the initial test. The coating was golden, it looked crispy and the aroma was good. My first bite revealed that I did not have to worry about being burned by hot meat. The temperature was perfect for eating in spite of sitting on a shelf being kept warm. The meat was fully cooked, tender, juicy without being greasy, and flavorful. I didn’t notice much spice, but there was definitely some there. So far so good. Upon arriving home I found a wife who was not hungry. So I promptly dove into three more pieces, trying one of each body part. They were still warm enough to enjoy and the true test was the breast. It was neither dry nor overcooked. The spiciness was a bit more noticeable after these three pieces. I was prepared to give my full seal of approval to Popeye’s until about 30 minutes later. It was after that much time that I realized I sensed a lingering flavor that I was not enjoying. I’ve concluded that it is the taste of oil. While I didn’t find any of the chicken to be oily, it has left a taste that I don’t enjoy and that is still lingering after 3 hours. I don’t know if the mild chicken would have had a similar effect on me, but I’m not sure I’m willing to try and find out.

Sam W, you rock. So does Popeye’s. But still not as good as KFC.

Only problems I’ve ever had here were trying to get a parking spot close to the entrance and once in a blue moon having to wait for a fresh batch of chicken to be made. But that’s because they do a lot of take-out here. Service has always been fast and friendly. One other thing I’ve noticed here — even though I’m not here enough to call myself a regular, I do come here several times a year for the past several years — I always see some of the same employees working behind the counter. And I think that’s a good thing. To have the same people working in a fast food establishment for many years means you have employees who care about the job they do, and a management team who cares about its employees. And of course, the chicken!

Crack in the chicken. Crack in the red beans & rice. Crack in the dirty rice. I love crack. When I’m in Albany, I hit up this Popeye’s. Is it just me or is every black person from Albany in a 5 mile radius is in this spot? It’s particularly clean and that’s cool. Chicken & Crack! Chicken & Crack!
