Trashy waitresses wearing yoga pants and no bra. Way over priced with a horrible food. Don’t recommend at all go to Denny’s down the road to Denny’s. At least you can get a bloody marry while waiting

Love everything they have, only thing I say they need is to be more organized and more bathrooms are desperately needed!

Great food. Would of been a 5 star but the customer service is not the best. No refills on our coffee. The prices are a little high. Chicken fried steak was good. My husband got an omelette he liked a lot. Not sure if I would go back. Nothing really popped for me.

I didn’t have the privilege to eat here, but I have a tale of the owner, a man who didn’t tell me his name. My white ’05 STi threw a CEL while on my way home on Christmas leave. I stopped in the parking lot at 10pm, well after the restaurant had closed, to trouble shoot. Being 10pm, I decided to tap the debris out of my air filter by using a bench. Albeit, I probably should’ve been more considerate, but it’s been a year since I’ve seen my family, and I want to go home. The owner come came out with an attitude, asking«Is that what that’s meant to be used for?!» I responding respectfully, apologizing for my carelessness. He continued on by boasting of his restaurant«There are going to be dozen of people sitting on that bench tomorrow morning, now they’ll get gas all over themselves». Well, you ran off without letting me explain. You also refused to shake my hand– I suppose I’m just not good enough for you. That was an air filter, no fuel involved. I was tapping plastic and cloth on your bench. Even if it was fuel, it would’ve evaporated before morning. Way to be rude to a stranger, guy. Happy New Years. Hope you treat your customers better.

Great greasy spoon breakfast spot. Homemade biscuits & gravy, corned beef hash was good. And they have Dave’s Killer Bread, which can be a meal in itself. Jenna M was our server and she was attentive and friendly. Definitely highly recommended.

Other than serving breakfast and lunch items, the food was OK at best. There are some other issues, not enough wait staff early on. Any body can cook breakfast that’s frozen… ie potatoes… And canned sauces. This is a cheap way out…

Have driven by for almost 2 years but never had time to stop. Staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. They serve this with potatoes on a bed of gravy. Steak was fork tender, crispy but not overly breaded and full of flavor. Potatoes and eggs cooked perfectly and raspberry jam for the toast. Food came out fast and hot and my coffee cup was never less than half full. Was nice to see the owner(assuming) in the kitchen tasting the morning gravy and chili. Watched him give directions to the cook and everyone was interacting extremely positive. In a world of chain breakfast places it’s nice to see somebody setting the bar higher.

Went here last Wednesday, 09−23−15 for breakfast with a party of three adults and a toddler. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy, maybe half full and we were seated fairly quickly. We have a two year old and he must have gotten car sick because as soon as we got to our table, he threw up. The waitress said she would be right back with a towel. Luckily mom packs wet wipes and we were able to get it cleaned up on our own because the waitress did not come back for over five minutes. Okay we thought, crisis over, lets get on with it. When she came back to give us a towel, she took our order for drinks and food. The drinks came within a few minutes, one adult water, one child water, one coffee and a Mountain Dew. In a can? Hmm… in a can we thought as a group. Well whatever we said to ourselves, we came here for the food after all. We ordered one Belgian waffle, one chicken fried steak, one special which was biscuits and gravy and one child’s breakfast. The food was good although you could tell it had been done for a few minutes before we got it. So, here’s the gripe: There was only one waitperson who was running the the customer side of the restaurant. I counted three kitchen staff when I walked in and looked through the window. She was doing all of the hosting, busing all of the tables, serving all of the food, running the register and was the only person interacting with the customers. It took longer than it should have for everything to happen because of the staffing. We never got a follow up to our meal, no refill of coffee, no offer of another soda, no more water, nothing… We didn’t even get a check at the table. We had to stand at the register to wait on her to give it to us. Other customers were getting up and leaving. It was unfortunate for her and I kind of felt bad because I didn’t know the situation(if there was one, maybe someone called out). On the other hand, there was an extra person in the back that should have been helping out. If nothing else, they could have bused tables and got drinks. We kept asking ourselves, where was management? Couldn’t they see what was going on? Who was in charge? The waitress was running around like crazy and we almost felt bad for her but she made no attempt to apologize or explain why there was no help. She just kept on like it was standard operating procedure. + for good food — for price(they are the most expensive breakfast in Albany) — for soda in a can BIG — for poor service To top it all off, when we were paying, she asked us if we wanted the second can of soda. Nope! To sum up, the poor waitstaff/restaurant organization/lack of management, high prices and soda in a can kill the positive which is the food. We will not be back.

I stop here anytime I drive I5 for business. I am blown away at any of the bad reviews. My service has always been good the one time there was any hiccup a line was out the door. Had multiple items on the menu from the French toast to the gravy. The gravy is too legit to quit. Coffee is also good. Service staff are cheery and quick and things look clean. One of the best Breakfasts I have had on the road in a while.

The Original Breakfast is a very nice restaurant to sit down and enjoy breakfast. Everything is clean and updated. There’s hardwood floors and most of the seats are booths. I like that this place has the option of yogurt as a side instead of pancakes or hash browns. They also have coconut water. The omelette was greasy but it was a good enough portion size for a normal body. I was dying of thirst midway through the food.

Heading down to Eugene for a Duck game and we wanted to stop along the way for a breakfast pit stop. We got there 3 hours before kickoff and got seated right away– and right before the crowd. This place looked a little scary from the outside and my booth seat was very worn and cracked but my goodness– that Stuffed French Toast was outstanding! Cream cheese with blueberry compote and the corn flakes on the outside. Skip the bacon and eggs and get two pieces-you won’t regret it! Also really good coffee. Definitely my new go-to pit stop for the morning drive down to Eugene.

Where is the owner or manager? All windows need a wash inside and out. There seemed to be only 1 or 2 people working out of 5 or 6. Very badly organized, one person started bussing then left cart by table then was really noisy when got back. We say the hostess bus more tables except for the blond who was friendly.

Worst experience in a restaurant in a long time, and I am actually fairly lenient about service and food. If a manager could respond to me or this post, that would be really great. Pros: My friend liked her food Cons: 1. Service, Service, Service. — We put our names down to be seated while large groups arrived behind us. After waiting for 10+ minutes we went to sit at the bar to drink coffee and asked them to grab us when the table was cleaned. While watching all the large groups behind us get seated we decided they had deserted us. I ordered off of the verbal specials listed by our waitress and when my waffle arrive slathered in Sysco brand whipped topping(first ingredient: partially hydrogenated oil!) and cream cheese politely asked for a plan waffle. I’ve worked in customer service for a decade and understand what it’s like to be busy, but our server went out of her way to be rude. «No, that’s what you ordered. You can pay for another one if you want.» She promised«it’s really whipped cream if that’s the issue!» but sitting at the bar you see everything and Sysco is the cheapest crap you can buy out of a can. 2. Price — specials aren’t listed on the menu, so get a fun surprise when you find out your waffle, coffee and egg was 19.70 3. no air conditioning, it was probably 80 in the restaurant I left this restaurant feeling dirty and like I had done something wrong. I am very polite, I was embarrassed to ask for anything to make her day more complicated than it was and then was shot down with so much force I felt like I had asked her bra size instead of for what I had actually ordered. I didn’t even list the small things that happened: no silverware, no water refills, hearing servers complain about tips in front of me, seeing the finished food get cold while waiting for the server to see the line of finished food on the counter. Do yourself a favor, go to Denny’s. Price is less, service is better, and believe or not, healthier.

I had very high hopes eating here, and was very excited to dig into some delicious looking french toast. Pretty dissappointed with this place and I had a bad experience. First of all, the prices did not seem worth it(real high for what you get). They even had a $ 20 omelet! I figured hey I came here to get some damn good french toast, and I am going to enjoy it without a worry. I mean blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast with some corn flakes breading? How could I pass that up. Oh, and I ordered a side of bacon as well. They messed up my order, and brought me the french toast without the corn flakes breading, which I ordered and was willing to pay the extra money for. I wanted that crunchy texture! I did go with the half order, since I was meeting someone for lunch later on. Without complaining about the order mess up, since I did not want to wait any longer, I dug in. It wasn’t that great and my high hopes were shot. The cream cheese was warm and very melted and gooey. Did not give that thick, creamy texture. The blue berries, well. It was more of a blueberry jam. Not really whole, fresh, blueberries as I was expecting. With that being said, the piece of french toast was taken down in about three bites. Was not a good portion for the price whatsoever. With the dissappointment of messing up my order when I was very excited for something, and not having the best experience with what I ate, I did not find a piece of small french toast and 2 strips of bacon to be worth almost $ 15.00. Nothing else on the menu excited me. I don’t find it to be worth a try here.

My go-to breakfast place. A little more expensive than nearby chain restaurants(I’m looking at you, Denny’s and Elmer’s) but the top notch food and service make the extra expense worth it. This place is often packed, especially on weekends. Be prepared to wait a few minutes for the best breakfast in town. I’ve never had a bad experience at The Original Breakfast — highly recommended

Good breakfast or brunch spot. They offer almost all the traditional breakfast options and often have a couple of specials that are quite interesting. The price are a bit higher than a Denny’s and the up-charges get a little old. They offer lots of coffee options when considering they have an espresso machine. Eggs Benedict is my favorite.

The original breakfast is a pleasant surprise, given it’s location. I didn’t expect this establishment to be so nicely appointed inside – particularly in the bathrooms. It’s not your garden variety«greasy spoon». I’ve only been here a single time now, but the chicken fried steak was delicious… albeit small and not particularly thick. I know the ownership prides this establishment on offering high quality ingredients, and good presentation/preparation – I think both the meals on my $ 40+ ticket would reflect those things. Overall I’d say my experience here was a pretty good one. Yes: –service was prompt, informative, and steady –establishment was clean and nicely dressed –flavor was 1.5 thumbs up –location was easy to find, good signage, and proximal to I-5 No: –price! for two people(2 coffee, 1 omelet, 1CFS) the total was $ 40. Sure… I knew by looking at the menu what I was getting into. But it’s a price I was willing to pay, in hopes that what was served may be the greatest bfast I’d ever had. Or at least a new«favorite» –coffee was consistently refilled, but also never close to hot I’m all fairness to this establishment, and as I’ve stated many times before in my reviews… I’m a man who wants big food, great flavor, and reasonable prices. I’m not generally concerned with the truly«foodie» outlook on the ingredients & prep. of my dish. So it’s with that in mind that I say the Original does a great job at what they’re going for – but it may well never be a place that can satisfy my dining needs. Im not taking shots at ‘em here. But for my money, next time, I’ll continue driving North until I reach Chehalis, WA. Once there, I’d seek out Berry Fields again. Their homemade oatmeal bread, with accompanying jam, is pretty close to one of the greatest items I’ve ever stuffed into my face hole. And the desserts are so good that I never say no, even when fully gorged on their monstrous CFS. But alas… this is simply one diners humble and highly subjective take. Give the Original a chance. I love to see small businesses thrive. It may become your favorite!

I loved the mushroom and cheese omlet. The mushrooms were sauteed perfectly and there was lots of cheese. The pancakes were sort of fried and very tasty. However I did not like the biskets and gravy

Wow surprisingly good! The menu says they prepare all their ingredients fresh, and I believe them. Eggs benedict is a-ma-zing. Once I was there and they had a special. Some kind of scallops and eggs thing. If you see it, get it. I don’t remember what it was called, but I remember loving it. The place looks like a Denny’s from the 70’s(hence the 4 star). If it looked like a swanky Starbucks or even a decent McDonalds I’d give it 5 stars for not scaring me.
