If you’re looking for an experience that screams«I just ate a $ 14 meal at a casino» then you’ve found it. For a buffet I expected a bit more than what was served. Strangely enough all of their food seemed tasteless and old, the steak especially had little flavor and the crab legs were rubbery and uninteresting, not to mention that no silverware was provided to help with the sea food buffet. The dessert didn’t leave a memorable impression either, the cake seemed like it was old and stale, like it was a left over from a birthday party, and the cobbler seemed rubbery as well. The staff were almost nonexistent, except when they dropped off your drinks, but we had to flag them down for attention.

This might be the best buffet in Albuquerque, but I’ve been at a lot buffets across the country, and this is nothing special. I went on a Thursday, which happens to be seafood night, so majority of offerings were seafood related — so kudos on fidelity to the theme. You can assume that most of the offerings were mediocre. So I will focus on what I thought was well done. First, the Udon noodle station was tasty. I particularly liked the curried chicken. Second, the Chinese soups(hot & sour, egg drop) were well done. Third, the steaks held a lot of promise. I give that awkward comment because I tried the carving, the Churrascaria style slices and the strip. The first two were very good; the strip seemed like a good piece of meat but not cooked well. I asked for medium, and got a very chewy rare. If I were to go again, and the same person was cooking, I probably would ask for well. The stations were kept stocked, seemed to be fresh and the staff attentive. Saw kids around, so they seemed to be able to accommodate them. One minor complaint: seating was strictly first come first served. While that sounds fair, it does not make a lot of sense when there are big parties. In my case there were two large parties(more than 10 people) ahead of me. The line backed up with singles, couples, small parties out of the entrance while we all waited until they had cleared two spaces big enough for those two parties. I notice that most other places will target some area that will become the spots for large parties but will continue to seat smaller parties in other spaces in the mean time.

Why is there so little love for this place? I give it 5-stars because its awesome for its price. I only go M-W, when its buy 1 get 1 all day. So for TWO adults its only $ 13, even at dinner time! Is this the best buffet I have ever gone to? No, but it did only cost me $ 6.50(per person). Seriously where else can you get two dinner buffets around here as cheap? You shouldn’t come here with«Bacchanal Buffet» expectations(which was $ 40+ the last time checked), you should come here with with realistic expectations and compare it to something equivocal like Golden Corral(which is more expensive btw). For $ 6.50 I am very happy with their selection and quality. They have a large variety from Asian to Mexican to American fare. They have an ice cream station with specialty coffee and freshly squeezed fruit drinks. They also have a pasta station where you can select your pasta and sauce. Their phở, in my opinion, is pretty good for a buffet — and as an Asian person I am happy it is even an option. They have a wide selection for their dessert which I would say is comparable to Sara Lee or Edwards frozen pies(I’m not knocking it, I actually like their pies). If my spouse gets off early on a Monday — Wednesday, we make a bee line to this place. It’s fun, its cheap, and it has a pretty decent variety. A few tips: Half off M-W. Go to the kiosk to print out the coupon. Each couple needs a coupon. If you have a third person, they will prorate their price but they will need to have a B1G1 coupon. So for three people you will need two B1G1 coupons and it will be $ 6.50×3=$ 19.50. Kids Quest — The casino has child care, so you can opt to drop off your kids before you eat(they will feed them for an extra cost) or drop them off after for a fun, short date night. It’s about $ 9/hour. Sodas are included in their price.

Yet another great meal at the Route 66 Buffet! This buffet is always clean with a cheery environment and the staff are always attentive and helpful. The food was [as usual] hot and tasty! The salad bar was seriously fresh! The fruit bar was even fresher! The dessert bar was to die for! In fact, all 4 pieces of the Coconut Cream Pie I devoured tasted JUST as good coming up as it did going down! The pizzas were fresh, crispy, cheesy and gooey! The Asian Rim section had the best tasting Hot and Sour and Egg Drop Soup! All in all, this is a buffet you’ll want to hit up after hours of gambling! Price wise, it’s comparable to the Hong Kong Buffet. About $ 25.00 for two. But, we’ve never regretted our decision to eat there!

I was quite leery about eating here after reading reviews on food poisoning and dirty plates. But I had to get my buffet fix after driving out of Vegas. It’s been 24 hours, so it’s safe to say my family and I didn’t catch any bugs. It was a decent international buffet for $ 13 on a Wednesday night. Plates were clean and the food warmers were hot. Place was busy, and even more popular on Thursdays for their seafood. Our waitress was hard working and friendly. Don’t forget to tip them folks!

My husband and I have been stopping by the Route 66 for a little over 10 yrs. The casino is average. You win some, you lose some. The buffet has changed greatly over the years. We usually stop because of the large selection and reasonable price. Recently it has changed for the worse. On 9÷12÷15 we stopped and ate the buffet about an hour before the change over. The following day we were both unexpectedly sick. We thought maybe something didn’t agree with us or something on the buffet had went bad. On 10÷02÷15 we decided to try it again, in hopes the last reaction was a fluke. This time we stopped earlier in the day, not long after lunch began. Within an hour of finishing our meal I was again sick, it lasted about 36 hrs and was more intense. My husband also experienced flu like symptoms. I’m not sure if it’s the food, the handling or a cleanliness issue but food poisoning twice in less than a month points to a severe issue in this establishment.

Made a stop today at Buffet 66 inside the Route 66 Casino, I must say that this was a great experience. When I got to the cashier at the entrance the girl recommended I go sign up for a rewards card to get a discount on the buffet. I am sure glad she did when I signed up I got a free dinner voucher that I put to good use right away. The host was friendly and took me to a table that was clean and comfortable. The server was prompt and took my drink order so I could get right to the Buffet.(Now I must comment that I went to dinner at approximately 6: pm on a Monday.) The food on the Buffet was fresh and looked delicious. Featuring a wide variety from Mediterranean, Asian, Southwestern, Mexican, Italian, and Seafood. The Soup and Salad Bar was appealing also as was the two desert section’s. There was also a Margaritas Bar. The meal was free but at the full price of $ 12 it would have been more than worth it, I will absolutely be back again.

My family and I were on our way back to Dallas from our tour of Santa Fe, Flagstaff, The Grand Canyon, and Scottsdale. We booked our stay at the Route 66 because it was a convenient stopping point after 2200 miles on the road. I checked into the hotel wearing my Wally World T-shirt which turned out to be accurate to the National Lampoon series when we hit the buffet. If you’ve seen Vegas Vacation I’m sure you remember the scene where Eddy buys Clark dinner at the $ 1.95 buffet. They stumble on the blue beef and yellow chicken and Eddie says«I’ll have some of the yella». Well that’s exactly how I felt at this buffet. Station after station of the most mediocre food just waiting to ruin all the amazing dining experiences we had on our trip. Only problem here is instead of a $ 1.95 which would have been the appropriate price for this sub par excuse for food, the tab for our family of 5 was $ 129.95. You know it’s bad when my 14 year old son won hadn’t eaten since breakfast that morning took his tour and came back with fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, took one bite, and pushed his plate to the side. Do you want to try some dessert before you give in. …no I’m good. Yeah it was that bad! I’ve been to Vegas several times and had some absolutely amazing buffet experiences. The buffet at the Wynn is the best I’ve ever had. Did I expect the same quality at the Route 66… no I didn’t. However if your going to charge the same price as the Vegas buffets you better have good reason to do so and the Route 66 does not. Stay at the hotel and have a blast on the gaming floor but avoid this buffet like the plague however if you are a fan of the Golden Corral and consider a romantic dinner taking your significant other to Applebee’s then perhaps this is your spot.

My wife and I had been here for the seafood buffet and it was good. But, that is like 25.99 per person. The mistake we made we going to the regular buffet on Wednesday night. All the meat at all stations was over done and dry. The Pork, the Brisket, etc The worse. Not worth the 12.99 per person we paid. The Phở at the Asian station was in my Wife’s words«super bad». She had cramps after leaving, and I had cramps and diarrhea the next day. All day. We wished we had gone to Golden Corral, or Hong Kong Buffet instead. Sigh. I would give no stars, but that is not an option.

Somewhat limited selection compared to other some other casino buffets(except desserts, which had decent selection and decent flavor). But, biggest issue was that many items were only tepid rather than hot, and all items tried were bland. Nice location for other things, but would not stop for buffet again.

BEWARE they advertise seafood buffetts for some long Holiday weekends and just throw some deep fried popcorn shrimp out. The management does not care about customer service, they are happy to do the bait and switch as long the they get your gambling dollars. After shoving my face with crap I had to make a mad rush to the restroom. Before I could get my fat a&$ on the seat hot black tar uncontrollably blasted out of my filthy corn hole.

My husband is a truck driver and we decided to stop and eat buffet at this casino. I will say for $ 20 a person I should be eating good. BUTNO! The food was not that good, they had pizza, an Asian, Mexican, American and dessert station. Out of all their foods the carne asada steak was probably the best. The rest of the food was cold, bland and just ekkkkkkk… And their dessert selection looked like what you would see at old peoples home care. Just spend your $ 20 at their café might even get better service!

Maybe it’s because I’m used to the buffets in Vegas, but I was not impressed with this one. It was buy one get one free so the price was right, but none of the food was very good. The employees were kind of rude and took their dear sweet time doing everything including seating us. The only things I liked were the buy one get one and the ice cream

It’s not all that, my husband and I stopped by since it was on his route, he’s a cross country truck driver. Must say the hubby and I are not fans of meat or sea food, therefore my review is totally different of what everyone is all hyped about. Ate and tried it all for the most part. Mediterranean: Veggie pizza was delish! 5 stars, I want to say it was a fresh batch, thank goodness fresh out of the oven. There’s a generous option of pasta but hubby and I passed. tried the black eyed bean salad, that was another 5 stars, a burst of flavor! further down the buffer bar we had nachos, red chips are made to perfection 4 stars, the cheese could have been a lot warmer. There’s the option to build your own taco, hard shell. Hubby and i skipped, didn’t feel like having a bean taco :#. Had the Singapore noddles, that was a treat! Green beans were not good, hopefully it was just that one batch. Grean beans were watery filling and flavorless. Potato wedges were cold, not as delish as I was hoping. smashed potatoes and gravy is the norm, not bad. Salad bar is fully loaded with all of ur desired toppings. Asian buffet was a little on the sad part. not much to choose from. had a spring veggie roll that was 4 stars, not greasy or heavy. The dessert bar made it all worth it… delish. I had a little square full of heaven that tasted like a butterfinger snack bar and a slice of banana cream pie … ohh my! that was a 10. Not sweet at all as expected since it had a generous layer of frosting, delish. I would go back simply for that slice of goodness!

I will start off this review by saying I rarely frequent buffets so I may not be the best judge. With that being said, I enjoyed my meal here at the Route 66 Casino Buffet. The food was decent. There are many different varieties of choices. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, corn on the cob and baked potato. They have a taco bar, baked potato bar, asian food, salad bar and much more. I’d say it was A-OK.

Best buffet in Albuquerque! Yummy crab legs, and they have a huge variety of foods from all over the world. My favorite dish is the spicy shrimp and clams that the chefs make right in front of you.

I was a little worried coming here after reading all the bad reviews, but thank goodness my experience was a good one. Our waiter was on top of her game. & when I asked her for vinegar, the manager himself came over to hand it to me himself. So great service. Best of all we arrived here on a Saturday night at 7& there was no lines. I basically came here for the seafood buffet. Which is on Fridays & Saturdays. The crab legs was perfect. They were big, perfectly cooked & seasoned perfectly. I didn’t even need the butter. It wasn’t bland or too salty like most places that offer crabs. Sweet & meaty. Definitely worth the $ 23+ & the drive. $ 9 more if u want access to the cold lobster tails. There was the dessert section, Asian section, Mexican section, Italian section, salad & oysters/shrimp cocktail section & a southern food section. Oh & even an ice cream stand away from the desserts. Some of our favs was the fried chicken in the southern side, & the oysters & the saucy mussels in the Asian aisle. Try that Singapore noodles too. Then go to the grill side all the way at the back & try that made to order shrimp, mussels or clambake. So damn good. I actually took some of that sauce & dipped my crab legs in it. The leche flan in the dessert section was really good too. The rest of the food was just ok. But totally worth it to come back just for the crab legs & clam bake in my opinion. Be prepared to inhale casino smoke & smell like an ash tray.

This is more of a Quick Tip but my Unilocal Ap wouldn’t let me check in saying I wasn’t in the vicinity(even though I was) so this review is merely FYI until I can review the place fully. $ 7.99 mon-wed buffet w/ultimate rewards card. PS doesn’t open until 11am =(maybe next time
