Amazing! They have really stepped up their quality of food, customer service and ambience. I haven’t dined with them in the last 5 years — I had been really disappointed in the past and these last few times in, have been surprisingly wonderful!

Had a combo. Taco was Crap box bought she’ll little meat and lettuce nothing else. Tamale was ok had flavor good chillie. Rejano good but not fantastic. Had a little meat something. Overcooked and drowned in bbq sauce. Rice dry but had flavor. Beans seem b home made but missing garlic. Most items had flavor but seemed reheated overdone not fresh made. Service was slow but nice. Enterance of the place is dark and creepy. Several in party did not feel good about it.

Came here and got two breakfast burritos and a few drinks, only to get an 80 dollar bill that didn’t match up with the actual itemized receipt. When I asked the bartender about the ghost charges she said we charge for cheese and every ingredient in your order which doesn’t state that in the menu. Seems like I busted them inflating the bill with no sign unless you add the charges up yourself. The bartender was very snide about her response«sorry we charge for everything». Never coming back here again and warning everyone about this.

What a great meal and great service from our waiter Jesse! I remembered to take a picture of my plate but only after I finished it! Had the beef chimi and it was delicious. We will definitely be back here.

I’m a little biased when it comes to Casa B’s. It’s nostalgic for me. Growing up we didn’t get to eat out very much… I take that back we NEVER got to eat out. Casa B’s was the first place I ever ate out at with a friend of mine and her family. The green chile stew is still the same great blend of flavor and heat(from the chile). Every time I go I struggle to resist the sopas(sopapillas) that are just ridiculously warm and fluffy every time. I have always enjoyed their flauta plate and if you know flautas, you know that it’s just plain annoying to have all the shredded meat come out with the first bite– you also know that the right amount of crunch in the tortilla is necessary! Well, Casa B has never disappointed me in this area either. During the summer, their outdoor patio is just the spot to enjoy one of their lovely margaritas. So if what you’re looking for is just some no nonsense, finger-lickin good New Mexican/Mexican food… Casa B’s is your destination.

This is one of the restaurants that we have to go to every time we are in Albuquerque. They make the most wonderful, crispy chile rellenos. You can get them filled with chicken and cheese, but I prefer the classic rellenos filled only with cheese. I recommend that you get the chile sauce on the side not only because of the how hot the chile is, but also so that they stay crispy throughout. I prefer the green chile sauce, but red is available also. Crisp sopapillas with a tender, pillowy center are included with the meals. We always request that they bring them at the end of the meal so we can enjoy them for dessert.

Is it chile inside or is it just me?(Notice I spelled chile the right way). This is only the second time that I have dined here, but I am nonetheless still content about the quality and authenticity of their NM food. This place has some of the best chile that I have ever had. Everything from the salsa to the green chile sauce that drenched my stuffed sopapilla was amazing. Now I will say though that if you are not a fan of good, hot NM chile, this place may not be for you. I love hot, flavorful chile and this is exactly what casa de benavidez serves. The prices here are a bit steep which is the only downside. But hey, I’d rather pay a little extra to these local businesses than chain restaurants anyway. Overall, casa de benavidez is one of, if not, the best NM Food restaurants in the state. I highly recommend it.

Overall, this place gives off a good vibe — the design is nice, they have a bar and patio, the menu has a small variety and the pricing isn’t bad. I love the sopapilla burger! We’ve been here a few times for breakfast and lunch and for some reason we always seem to get sort of forgotten about — orders are sometimes wrong or missing pieces, we’ll sit for a long while before someone checks on us or notices an empty glass and when they’re busy, patience is a virtue. Service is a big thing for me, no matter how good the product is, hence the 3 stars.

This was my first trip to the restaurant, and unfortunately it’ll be my only one. When I’m in a new restaurant that serves new Mexican food, I always get fajitas because I figure how can a screw that up? Well here’s how they screwed them up at Casa de Benvidez: they overcooked the beef so there was no trace of moisture left, and then they serve them with tortillas that were cold and hard. I was very disappointed, but not surprised because the overwhelming majority of reviews here on Unilocal said much the same.

Had lunch yesterday with a friend — fabulous — the food was fast and very fresh, and the service was excellent. We only had to wait about 10 min. for a table on the enclosed patio, and listened to Hector Pimental play guitar. We both had the Huevos Rancheros w/Christmas(both red & green chile). The typical sides that come with this are frijoles(beans) and papas(potatoes). The beans were creamy but not completely pulvarized, the potatoes were hasbrowns and very crispy — yum! The red chile had a depth of flavor to it without being greasy or burned. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Only wished we had been served sopapillas with our meal, as is customary, but totally excusable.

No complaints about the food. But the service on ½/15 was horrible. Part of our order never came… despite us asking the waitress about it multiple times throughout the meal. She repeated that it was coming. Our waitress disappeared towards the end of the meal and when she came over to bring our check she just giggled when she remembered that she completely forgot about us and our order. She asked if we still wanted it… only when we were finished and our drinks hadn’t been refilled for ages. We just wanted out of there. Never again.

Great New Mexico food! The Old fashion enchilada were great, and don’t forgot to top it with an egg. The house Margarita was great!

Sorry, I think I’ve had enough here after several visits. The service was mediocre again, the food was not that great. The spiciness of the food completely overwhelmed any other favors that you might want to experience(and I love a good spicy meal). The queso was gross and extremely pricey($ 7); it was like stadium style nacho cheese. Really? I expect so much more from a place that boasts the best New Mexican food anywhere. Senior Benavides is probably rolling over in his grave! However, the sopapillas were excellent!

We ate in the sunroom/patio area which was nice. The service was ok as was the food. There was live music, but we were sitting right next to the guitarist and it was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. I’m sure the other tables were probably ok, but since we were so close… They have plenty of seating and the wait staff is friendly. It looks like it might be a good place to come to for the patio, so we’ll be back for that in the summer.

Atmosphere and scenery was quite lovely! I ordered the chicken enchilada/carne adovada combo… my husband had the taco, tamale, chicken enchilada and carne adovada!!! Both meals were excellent! The green chile was amazing and to top it all off-sopapillas!!! Fluffy pillows of goodness. If you have the chance to go, GO!

Excellent Mexican food. The salsa was not too hot. I got a combination with the rib. The rib was outstanding. The rice was ok and seemed to be the same as other places. The beans were great. This is a big step up from Sadie’s for sure.

I came to Casa De Benavidez because I was told how amazing this place is. When we first walked in we were greeted and sat down but after that we were ignored for about 20 minutes. A table that was sat after us was already getting there food by the time a waiter came around. The funny thing was you can see all the waiters and bartenders talking and having a grand ol time at the bar so that really ticked me off. As far as there food goes thier chips and salsa is excellent and the chile is spicy! I really enjoyed there green chile as it was very flavorful. I also ordered there combo plate which had a little bit of everything but I really wasn’t to impressed by the food and especially for 16 bucks a plate. The food was pretty bland and it all tasted the same. Other people I was with had the chicken fajitas and enchiladas and they all agreed the food was pretty mediocre. I also tried a few of there margaritas and that was just a shame so don’t even bother with the margaritas as they taste watered down. Overall there are way better places to eat. Do your self a favor and drive a little bit up the road to Bruno’s or Sadie’s if your looking for some good New Mexican food.
