Just had the huevos, with red and green. Both chilis were excellent. My wife had the carne adovada enchiladas and she loved them as well. Excellent service and very friendly staff and owner. This place is an original gem that’s been open since 1950. We will definitely be back

Great Historical Route 66 Diner with New Mexican and American Cuisine. Beautiful old 1950 Diner. Loved the Food and service.

I have never had a bad meal there been going there since they opened. Always consistent with excellent service. They also have music on the weekends which is very pleasant while you’re eating a great breakfast. The owner is there most of the time and makes sure that your meal is satisfactory can’t say anything but excellent.

Absolutely love this place! When we first moved to Albuquerque we asked about a great place to eat and were recommended to go here. By far one of my favorite places to go and get breakfast. The staff is amazing and friendly and the food is out of this world! Every time we have visitors come in to visit we bring them here. Never have they(or we) been disappointed.

Had a great family breakfast at El Camino this past week. Service was good and the food was served piping hot. Definite local New Mexico breakfast fare. You won’t be disappointed.

Oh great — your dad’s on another one of those odysseys again. So starts our Saturday, as my wife bemoans the next«Oh, I know some place to go — you’ll see» journey I take them on. These trips are like a lottery ticket — kind of entertaining, sometimes a winner, sometimes a loser, and, once in a while, you end up with a paper cut. Here…we…go… As a wee lad during the Bush years(«read my lips,» not«Murica»), I recall many a Saturday morning spent chasing balloons, and then chasing eggs at El Camino. Alas, I moved away, I forgot, and I abandoned. But, after 10 years of driving by and saying«I really need to back there,» I did and I did not regret it one bit. The food is better than I remember(Hey, I was sixteen, and my dad’s friend had a cute daughter — there’s not much I remember about El Camino other than her). OK, so check that — the food’s really good — the staff is friendly — you gotta love the lady that starts swapping dog pictures with your kid. Prices were fair — like the Renaissance of Route 66, we buy in whole heartedly, and will be back again soon.

This place used to be an easy neighborhood joint but after insulting my mom, a customer for ten years, no longer. The quality of food and service has been heading downhill for a while, anyway.

How can you screw up a green chile bacon cheeseburger? You’d think it would be hard but this was the worst green chile cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten. Tiny little dried up patty stale bun, AND they forgot the green chile AND the bacon. Server never came to check on us after they dropped off the food, ate what we had and go the heck out of there. Didn’t get any utensils — had to smear mustard on the burger with a straw. Not in a hurry to get back to this place.

One of those interesting little places on 4th, kinda like a time warp. Motel on west side of street and restaurant on the east side. Nice friendly service. Food-I’d rate stuffed sopapilla a 3 but since friend said his carne adovada burrito was great I’ll up it to 4. Sopapillas that come in the basket only fair.

If your looking for a great homemade meal then you should look no more. El Camino reminds me of a diner you would find in Northern NM its filled with the regulars thats also another sign its a great place to eat. If your in the area I would recomend checking this place out.

Service was terrible. Took 45 minutes for steak and eggs. Steak looked and tasted like it was 10 years old!

One word: AUTHENTIC! From what I’ve learned about El Camino, their recipes haven’t changed in decades. My best friend turned me onto this place and the few times I’ve been here have definitely made me a fan. Everything I’ve ordered tastes completely homemade. I am usually a green chile fan, but the red here is much better. My favorite meal is the red chile cheese enchiladas with onions + an over medium egg on top with homefries and rice. Always hits the spot.
