Fantastic coffee and atmosphere. Each cup is carefully crafted. By my 2nd cup of coffee on my 1st day in town I already felt local to this shop. Beans are excellent. Nutty with chocolate tones. Great creama

Excellent drinks. Good prices. My favorite part: The barista offers to make it custom; from foam thickness to size. Awesome place!

Amazing latte. Added the sugar before doing the latte, which I love, as you don’t have to mess up the latte art and it gets properly mixed in. Great latte art and a cute atmosphere. Owners were very nice.

This place smells amazing! We wanted to try out something different today and while Downtown isn’t necessarily a convenient place for my husband and I, we decided to make a trip out of it and work out at Sports & Wellness Downtown and then walk a few blocks to this coffee shop. I saw great things on Unilocal about it and it totally lived up to our standards. The hours are kind of weird but I loved the menu! If I wasn’t a big coffee drinker I think it would have freaked me out but it was just like«We make it all!» simple! So we both got iced mochas… they were so good! Better than Starbucks. And its all cozy and coffee-shop like inside. And who doesn’t love that?! Like I said, downtown is kind of far and confusing to me but if I’m ever back in the area and I need a pick me up(which I ALWAYS do), this is where I would go. The drinks were perfect.

If you blink you’ll miss it, and if you miss it, it will be an epic tragedy. It’s a quaint LITTLE coffee shop with amazing coffee and amazing staff. I’m not sophisticated enough to talk about flavor profiles, I can tell you this was a really delicious cup of coffee! And to top it of, the owner has a giant(wonderful)personality. I don’t know if this guy is fae or what but everyone who came by, whether they came in for coffee or not, chatted merrily with this dude… that says a lot about the reception you’ll get at this place! It’s tiny so don’t plan on a study group here… but on a nice day you can hang outside at on go the little tables and enjoy watching happy people come and go, and the delicious aroma of magical coffee!

We dropped by Espresso Fino because it was convenient, and I’m really glad we did. I loved the Caramel Macchiato! It was perfect. There weren’t many baked goods available, but the Chocolate Almond Croissant was delicious! Yum. Service was terrific. The barista was a pleasure to chat with. There were a couple of tables out front, for people watching types and a great bar-like counter inside if you want to sit inside. Espresso Fino is definitely a winner.

With the advent of some clearly third wave espresso establishments in the downtown/sawmill area of Albuquerque, and having tried a few of these, I feel the need to reiterate how amazing espresso fino still ranks in Albuquerque. Coffee and espresso, while very cool and amazing, weren’t meant to be exclusive or exclusionary. That’s my main beef with all the third wave joints invading ABQ now. I like the fact that the barista making my coffee knows coffee more than they do where the wood from the countertop they’re serving me the coffee on is sourced from. Honestly, I could care less about superfluous details like that. Knowing where the coffee is sourced from? Sure… But paying 6 bucks for a quad Americano so my coffee can taste like it has effing blueberries in it? No thanks. If I want blueberries, I’ll go to the farmer’s market and buy some. Likewise, if you want *amazing coffee* that’s accessible, without that aire of hipster judgement, go to espresso fino, where it has been, and always will be, about the espresso!!!

My husband had a double espresso and cup of coffee. He is quite picky about his coffee, and loved both. If we were back in the area, I’m certain he’d insist on us returning. Small, intimate place with a few outdoor seats.

Best latte I’ve had in ABQ– hands down. I don’t understand what this trend of bitter coffee is, but its plagued throughout the city. But Espresso Fino has the creamiest, smoothest, most buttery, nutty delicious blend I’ve had since moving here in June ’15.

Love this little coffee shop. The baristas are great and thoughtful. It does get packed, I guess it’s a small indoor area. BUT the outside has many seatings. There’s parking across the shop and there’s parking metered areas along the sides. I understand that people love coffee and prefer a specific standard, but go easy on the baristas. The owner(I believe) was a bit frustrated with a demanding customer after and it flustered a lot of other customers since he wanted specific things in his coffee. Anyways, the latte I got was great. Smooth and creamy. And not too hot so I didn’t have to wait to drink mine. Haha. They do great latte art here and they can add extra flavors if you’d like. They sell other baked goods and a whole lot variety of teas. There’s a box of «dirty dishes» so please drop it in. :) the baristas came out when they were free to check in with their customers, so you know they care a bunch for us. Outside the door near the tree is, free coffee grounds for your compost. Pretty neat and environmental friendly! Will be back.

Stopped this morning on our way back east during a road trip; the owner(I assume he was the owner) knew everyone by name except us and it didn’t matter, he was just as friendly. I ordered a cappuccino but due to a few negative reviews he asked if I was down for a modified latte/cappuccino-esq drink and of course I was! I love art, perfection and a signature drink that I will enjoy and want to travel back to Albuquerque for and that is exactly what I received. My husband loved his breve’ latte and I loved my drink! Such great espresso and a great atmosphere! Thank you for keeping it real GOOD!

The place has some seriously awesome coffee — the best I’ve had in Albuquerque so far. It’s a small shop Downtown with a bright yellow exterior. As you walk in you notice a warm, welcoming interior with Star Wars trinkets placed throughout. You’ll also notice a calm, friendly barista behind the bar expertly pulling espresso. This is not a Starbucks where you rush in and bark your order at the barista and dash out. This is a place to slow down and enjoy the experience. The barista was very helpful — asked about my drink preferences even for a simple order(vanilla hazelnut latte). He was unrushed and focused on making sure he made me the exact drink that I wanted. When he was done he passed it to me and asked me to taste it to make sure it didn’t need any adjustments(it didn’t). The latte was excellent — not too sweet and a good balance of flavors. My fiancé asked for a drink they don’t typically make(Mexican Mocha). The barista was unruffled by this and asked him what he was looking for in that drink(spicy? cinnamon? both?). He put together a nice spicy, not-too-sweet, mocha for him. It was right on point. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be returning!

Yes yes yes yes! As a coffee freak and super snob — -traveling across the country has been tough on my love of coffee. I had not had a delicious soul-giving cup until finding this lovely café this morning! Support the local guys! This place delivered! Even a stunning design with the almond milk. Which is not easy to do. Creamy. Rich. Affordable. Cozy atmosphere. Nice staff.

After a long 2-day journey, it’s a treat to find a place that serves proper coffee!(Not colored water!) Here you will find proper brewed coffee as well as professional baristas who take pride in their work and a genuine interest in their customers. Although they attract a fussy coffee crowd, they also have an impressive tea offering(see photo). If you need sustenance or want a snack, they offer an assortment of wrapped baked goods but overall food is limited here, which is fine because it’s not a restaurant, but good to know.(If you need a proper meal, Gold St Café is two doors down but grab your coffee here.)

I love visiting local coffee shops here in ABQ — & Espresso Fino was one of those that I have gotten an opportunity to visit. The first thing that caught my eye about this coffee shop is the vibrantly colored exterior alongside the neighboring shops next to it. This coffee shop is probably the cutest one you’d ever step foot in – although the space is quite small, it’s feasible for the interior. I ordered the latte and I was definitely not disappointed. I’m a definite coffee lover & the way they make their coffees is to die for. I actually cannot wait to come back here again — because once was definitely not enough!

From childhood until my early twenties, I spent a fair amount of time in San Francisco pacing the Castro, streets of La Mission, and Union Square in my Vans and jacket. It’s also the time in my life I discovered the many miracles around Coffee. Tu sabes — the greatest tall, dark, y handsome of them all! Coffee shops, cafés, bistros — they all offer what I know now is some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Those memories up north are my coffee gauge… Fast forward fifteen years in Albuquerque, we came across Espresso Fino right downtown, not too far from some other coffee shops we’ve been. Espresso Fino was different — the mood was right. Walking in, the shop sheds warm light and a hint of Star Wars. It’s a visitor’s welcome, except, I felt as though I was walking into those many years before. Refreshing. We ordered a Peach empanada, hot Chai, and a nice tall cup of iced coffee, black. After paying and walking over to what was a cute conversation area, I was transported into familiar tastes and now happy times. The Peach empanada was spectacular! It was warm and flaky, but not heavy. The chai was good too! What won me over though was the iced coffee — bitter while flavorful. I didn’t need anything in it to compensate. They call it «fino» for a reason; this is one of the best coffee shops in the City, giving you the sense it’s finely out of this world.

*****Aaaaahhhhhh***** In my epiphany voice! I have seen the light. Not just any light, but the best coffee I have ever had light. I wanted a real latte. Not just the chain coffee latte, but the real deal with the fancy art latte. The slap your momma in the face type of coffee.(Even though I would never do that to my mom. I love you mom!) Okay. Now for the review. This place is a quaint little place in downtown. There is not much seating in the inside, however, there is seating outside. They even have Star Wars figurines. SCORE! For two lattes and a cappuccino, $ 12 dollars! $ 12FREAKINGDOLLARS! At the chain coffee shop, it would have been $ 50 dollars. This coffee heaven will be my go to latte stop every weekend. I will never cheat on you, Espresso Fino, I will never cheat on you. EVER!

I can not get enough of Espresso Fino’s iced almond milk latte! It is by far my favorite! I have been coming here for ever! It is located on Gold Ave &3rd next to Gold street Caffe. The place is a bit small but is great for good one on one conversation. They have outside seating right on the street. They have 3 different milk alternatives, half & half and skim(plus so many more options) if you don’t drink coffee they have a huge variety of tea’s and if you dont drink tea’s they have Odwalla, Hansens, Izze and Simply brands in the fridge to choose from. They have breakfast burritos first thing in the morning(while supplies last) they also have Choclate maven pastries which go very fast too. If you are looking for a great cup of coffee this is the place to be.

On my way to work, I screeched up to the door at 6:50 and saw a young man setting up tables. I rolled down the window and yelled, «Coffee, coffee, coffee!» He immediately saw the urgency of the situtation and directed me inside, where the aroma of java calmed me down long enough for him to put a medium latte in my hands. Ahhhhhh … the first sip hit my blood stream with the promise of renewed life. I could continue. All would be well. And it was only $ 3.50. Thank you, coffee guy. Thank you, Espresso Fino. Thank you.

5-Stars plus so much well deserved praise for this truly outstanding locally owned downtown gem! If you’re motivated to smile and spend your money at a place where you’re treated like royalty, your order is taken with tremendous care, and your happiness is valued more than the money you spend then this is the only place for your morning/afternoon/anytime coffee fix. It’s a tiny lil place and filled with laughter, happiness, and a kind sense of pleasing that is rarely seen in our corporate run world. The father-daughter combo help create a wonderful coffee experience. When I told the owner that my GF was in the car waiting with our dogs, he offered to help me carry coffee. When I declined is kind gesture he followed me out with a basket of chocolates to share. These people are kind, amazing humans! For me it’s all about the kind, friendly service clearly devoted to earning friendships above profits and customers. The coffee is great– brewed fresh, made to specific tastes and orders… They serve almond milk and take pride in meeting the demands of their customers wants and needs. When I am traveling through Albuquerque, I am going to be making a visit to this fine coffee spot. Try for yourself and you’ll quickly see why this is such an outstanding local place!
