The other night I had my dad pick me up some food from here. I’ve passed them a few times on Menual and read up on their Unilocal reviews. I figured it was going to be a hit or miss with the back and forth Unilocal stars. We ordered to-go a green chile beef philly cheesesteak, fries, and two pretzels with frosting. Let me just premise here and say that I am a HUGE fan of flavor and spice, but this philly was definitely lacking that good, seasoned flavor that philly meat should have. Also, the green chile didn’t taste like NM green chile – it tasted like Colorado green chile, but it still carried a nice kick. I had asked for extra provolone, which unfortunately wasn’t there. The fries had great flavor, but considerably lacked crispness. The pretzels were a bit pricey for what they are, in my opinion. They seemed very much like the ones you receive from the freezer isle at the grocery store. I want to give this place another shot with a dine-in experience to see how their food fairs. So far, there’s nothing here that WOWs me just yet, but I’m hopeful!

This place was amazing! Great food! I got the south philly and it was so yummy! The owner came out and asked how everything was and thanked us for coming in. I will definitely be back.

What a cool place! We went for Sunday lunch, I had the Chicken Green Chile Philly and my boyfriend had the Steak South Philly and we shared Green Chile Cheese fries. Everything was delicious! The«whiz» is so tasty! The bread is perfect and the manager said its sent in from Philadelphia! Loved Loved Loved this place! We will definitely be back soon! As my boyfriend said, «once I wake up from my cheese coma, I’ll be back for dinner!»

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a while and I guess I’ll have to keep waiting. We went in on a Sunday afternoon not too busy, greeted right away told to sit wherever. We sat at the bar area facing the window. Our lunch picks were made and we waited for someone to take our order. After 15 minutes with no contact we decided they didn’t want our business. What is more ironic as we left they told us thanks for coming.

Very cool décor and vibe — food was ok. If you have had a real Philly cheesesteak then it does fall flat. Meat wasn’t seasoned and sandwich falls apart likely because the cheese wasn’t melted. Prices were fair and I’d go back to try something else. The owner came around and talked about happy hour. $ 2 off local beer pints. Good deal since most are around $ 4 regular price.

Wow. I met the owner today and she was on her game. Excellent service. This place is without a doubt my source for a authentic cheese steak hoagie. I’m thrilled to death about finding this place.

I’ve been searching for a solid cheesesteak in Burque ever since Charlie’s closed and this place just plain nails it!!! From the awesome bread to the good olé Philly style of wit whiz, Filling Philly’s is the best in town. Awesome service and a fine selection of local brew this place is a must do if you are looking for a legit cheesesteak! A+++

Fantastic happy hour with solid local beer selection. Had the south Philly and a basket of fries. Philly was great, roll held steady with juicy steak and flavorful wiz. Fries are good, sugar no salt, ala wingstop. Twas a great find.

Amazing? I can fully understand how the good people here in Albuquerque are starving for something other than New Mexican cuisine. But Amazing? The food here is average to good and we were happy with our experience. I had the South Philly with wiz, it was good to start with but as the sandwich cooled off the wiz became rather gacky. Not much flavor in the wiz and I think it is just melted Velveeta cheese. Personally I think it needs to be thinned out a bit with a nice stout beer and given a bit more spices. The green chili was lacking any real flavor as I think it is canned but the fries were nice and crispy! My wife had the Classic Chicken Philly and she was very happy with her selection. I know that peoples tastes vary so we will be returning to try other offerings. Is this place authentic? Absolutely! Is it legitimate? Without a doubt! I have found that elevation plays a big part on the taste of food, the higher the elevation the more things need to be flavored. On a personal note: I would really like to see the people working the kitchen to wear hair and beard nets along with gloves if they are going to be visible to the public.

What a great place to meet up with friends on a Friday afternoon and sample some outstanding sandwiches, beer and wings. Jebus, it’s been a long time since my last Philly cheese steak in Jersey, but I know what’s authentic and what’s not. And these are definitely the real deal with the genuine cheese whiz. I ordered the South Philly which comes with onions, but no peppers. The beef was cooked perfectly, still juicy and the bread, soft and chewy texture, supported the meat very well. So tasty and flavorful. Cheese fries were delish and I sucked those down along with my Marble Red Ale. The atmosphere here is lively, vibe is friendly and quite accommodating. TVs tuned to sports – I liked the variety — hockey, tennis and basketball. Kind of got the stink eye though when I requested General Hospital, but hey, can’t have everything. James says the wings are wonderful, so I will be back to sample other delectable items they offer. Thanks boys, you were great.

Personally, all I need to do is follow James H around & I’ll be quite content! This place rocks! Order a classic Philly wit Wiz! Do this, and you to will be quite content! No, you’ll be ecstatic! Seriously, these Phillys are amazing! From the super soft bread, to the juicy innards and the perfect wiz cheese! If you like Philly Cheese-steaks, you’ll LOVE these! But guess what, their fries are amazing as well! I know, I know, fries, what’s so special about fries? Well, let me tell ya, there’s a secret seasoning/spice on their fries that will blow your mind! This is all I’ll write about that, but remember this and you to will be walking away uttering to yourself, «Mind Blown.» The vibe is there, the beer selection is good, and I dig it! The owner comes around and greets you, gets your feedback and you can really tell this is the epitome of a family run business! I love this type of place because you can see the hard work and attention to detail put into it right there in front of you. Even our waiter, Tim, was 100% dedicated to the product & our experience. I look forward to warmer weather when I can grab a beer & a Philly out on their patio. However, warm weather or not, I’ll be returning quite often! And so should you!

I really really really wanted this place to be better… I was eager to bite into my sandwich and be transported to the streets of Philly. Alas, I remained in Albuquerque. The interior/atmosphere/service of this restaurant is really cool. I’d give that five-stars if that was its own category. The food was just okay. I ordered the traditional philly and fries and both were strange in their own way. The sandwich lacked any spice… even the onions struggled to flavor the dry meat. And the fries were covered in sugar; while strangely tasty, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, and it would have been nice to have seen that alteration to the traditional basket of fries on the menu. I tried bites of other sandwiches at our table, and none of them made me think twice about returning. The owner was fantastic and walked table to table asking the customers how they were enjoying their food, and I 100% respect that; she cares deeply about her business. I’m sure I’ll find myself shuttled here for a group lunch again, and I’m open to another go-around. This is the kind of place that has potential, and it’s possible my tastebuds just weren’t in line with the food gods that afternoon.

I’ve been twice now and I always think I’ll be back, tonight was no exception. I’ve never had a Philly with whiz, you know cheese whiz. This evening we also tried the hot wings they were also fantastic. They have a really nice habanero flavor and frankly gave me a bit of a sweat which is much appreciated. Come in, sit down, order the usual waiter style situation. There is beer on tap and they claim to show every Sunday NFL game so football fans drop in for a bite and watch the game.

This is a cool spot: locally owned Philly restaurant with a very cool interior. It is clear that they are taking their business seriously, hiring a good restaurant designer and developing a very focused menu. I think if you come here, you must have one of the main Philly sandwiches. I had one with green chile and it was scrumptious; it melted in my mouth. My mom had a salad(I won.) The friendly owners came by and checked in with us which was very thoughtful. I ordered a local beer and the employee did not fill it to the top(it was about an inch short) and pointed it out to the owner and she immediately topped it off and corrected her staff. Looking forward to my second visit!

We used to go to Philadelphia all of the time to eat authentic cheese steaks while we lived back there. These were the closest we have tasted since then. Buns are very soft. Steak tasted great. Got ours with provolone and cheese wiz. We will try again.

Awesome food and great beer selection! My husband and I both had the Green Chili chicken philly and shared a basket of fries. We were here at happy hour(4 – 6 pm) beers are $ 2.50 at happy hour! Our bill for 2 sandwiches, fries, and 4 beers was $ 30!!! What a deal! Service was fantastic as well. Our server was very patient and accommodating when giving us samples to find what we liked. We will definitely be back!

My first time visiting this place. It’s been around for just about a month. In a busy area near the mall and conveniently across the street from the Sheraton off Louisana. Talked to manager Tim who helped me with my order to go. Nice open and clean interior. Extensive and impressive local draft beer menu. I was told that this is one of the only Philly cheesesteak places in Abq. Told the owner went all over Philly sampling and learning more about this amazing«food porn» sandwich. I bought the green chile with cheese wiz cheesesteak meal which comes with fries and a drink for around $ 12. Pretty good deal I say. The sandwich portion was a good size. The bread has a lot to do with how the sandwich tastes and imho makes or breaks the restaurant. Bread was perfect, steak had a good season to it, not too heavy and not over baked. Real cheese wiz!!! Makes a huge difference. The fries were fresh, not overly seasoned. Order came out in less than 5 minutes. I have nothing bad to say at all about this place. I’ll definitely come back again. Great customer service, huge menu, and a great selection of tasty adult drinks I’ll have to sample in the near future.

Ok look, this place has a good Philly cheese steak But the service is AWFULL. We sat for 20 minuets and waited for our drinks. Our food came out before our drinks. The pop machine was broken and they forget about the root beer I ordered. Last time we came the food was great and everything was good. The owner talked to us and she was super nice. This time everything was bad. So I give this place 2 stars because the service NOT the food.
