Another great experience at an egg and I restaurant, no complaints. Great customer service, hot fresh food what more could you ask for!

THEEGGAND I ISONEOFTHEBESTBREAKFASTPLACESINABQ If you need more information, then continue reading. Here are some of the main reasons The Egg and I put all other breakfast places to shame. 1.) Coffee is served in your own pot. AND they have a new seasonal coffee each month. 2.) Eggs Benedict. Many kinds. 3.) AWESOME service, always have what you need before you even know it. 4.) Everything is cooked as ordered. If you want over medium, over medium you shall receive. 5.) Location Location Location. Clean area, up and coming. 6.) Vibes are family friendly, ideal for sunday brunch. Prices are decent. Parking is sufficient. HEALTHY eating options. Not everything has to be bacon and sausage. I’ll be bringing my family here when they come visit.

I thought I would give it a try since it was in the parking lot of the hotel that my employer put me at. I got there about 10am so the breakfast rush was well over. I was sat at a table and then started to wonder if there was any waitstaff assigned there. Eventually somebody showed up and asked if I want coffee or anything to drink. I ordered coffee and water and waited and waited and waited. Eventually they were delivered and I ordered some southwestern omelette and a side of bacon. Once again I waited and waited and waited. just as all hope was lost my food came out. The omelette was not what I expected but not to bad. The bacon was stone cold. Nobody came to check on me and once I was done the bill was set on my table. No asking if everything was ok or if I wanted anything else. All and all an odd dining out.

I love going here! I’m a breakfast food fan, so this place is definitely a must-go-somewhat-frequently place for me. I adore eggs Benedict, so that definitely draws me to this restaurant also. I get cravings for their Parisian Benedict, which is as follows: poached eggs on a croissant with Swiss cheese, thinly sliced ham, and topped with a hollandaise sauce, mushrooms, and green onions. It tastes so good! And I also enjoy their potatoes. I’m actually quite picky with potatoes because I often find potatoes as a flavorless filler in some foods, but these are cooked to a pleasing crispness and they are seasoned nicely. I’ve tasted a couple other dishes, which have also been delightful. Service here has always been good when I’ve gone with my hubby and family. The servers are friendly, and they check on us frequently enough to make sure we have everything we want/need to have a good dining experience. I also think the inside of the restaurant is cute! It kind of has a home feel to it, and the wall decorations are fun. I’ll be here again for sure! Hopefully soon!

We are new to the area and read about Egg & I. We came fairly early on a Sunday and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the staff super friendly. We came in right before the church crowded so it was fairly quiet. It did get a little harder to hear once the place started filling out but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I ordered the corned beef and hash with eggs. I loved the hollandaise sauce they serve next to it. It really tied the food together. My Hubs had the huevos rancheros that came with guacamole and home fries. His looked super yummy too. Their coffee was delicious and they had several flavors to choose from. I love how they bring you your own pot so you don’t have to wait to have a refill if you’re a coffee gusler like me. We will definitely be back.

I probably should start with a disclosure — We went there after a 7 mile hike — obviously we were pretty hungry! We are always looking for good brunch places and for good local eats — this place satisfies both those criteria! The first thing that impressed me was their efficiency — it was a Sunday around noon and the place was very busy. Looking at the people waiting outside the building we didn’t expect to be seated for half hour or so but they found us a table within 15 min! The service was great, our waitress was very friendly, explained us whats what and gave us some great suggestions about the entrees and sides. We tried the chicken avocado omelette and the Huevos Rancheros — I’d say they were a great combination of taste and healthiness! I had a coupon for free coffee and they decided to give us both free coffee — so kudos for that… We are going to visit this place again soon and then we’ll definitely try their waffles — they looked awesome passing by but we were too full… and when someone says they are too full for dessert, that probably says something about the entrees!!!

Marissa was friendly and suggested 2 breakfast plates. I was craving vegetables and decided to try the Athena scramble with iced coffee. The iced coffee comes with milk in it but she brought it on the side and I added it myself. Delicious! They have the jalapeño pepper sauce on the table but I prefer Tabasco. She brought a new bottle to my table. Everything was great! What a way to start the day!

Excellent food for cheap! I don’t use the word excellent loosely. our breakfast was outstanding and plate was huge. Reminds me of West Coast diner chain Black Bear Diner. Try the bisquits and gravy.

1 thing I really like about these places is how cozy & comfortable the atmosphere is. It’s never too late for breakfast, right? I ordered the Eggs Benedict(my 1st time having it) & I wasn’t disappointed at all. The poached eggs tied in everything together along w/the hollandaise sauce which made the food the ‘melt in your mouth’ type of feeling. The ranch potatoes that I ordered w/it could’ve been cooked a little better though — some of it was cooked well & some was hard like a rock, so it was kind of hard to eat. Other than that, I would def recommend this place for a Sunday brunch or breakfast/lunch/brunch deal.

Oh eggs benidict how I love thee. From your chewy English muffin to your creamy hollandaise. Expertly crafted and served with a bottomless carafe of coffee. This place is hard to beat. I would give 5 stars but one of our party had a burnt English muffin. No biggie they replaced in under 5 min. So if you are looking for a breakfast place, and are ok with a chain, waltz over the the egg and I.

The service was great and the food very good, but the food was a little cold. 2 other tables complained about cold food around us as well. Overall it was an ok experience. I’m still undecided if I would try again. It may have been a busy day, but if others were having issues around us I’m not sure if I want to make the trip and try again.

My friends and I visited this place when we were looking for eggs benedicts. There was a 30 minute wait when I called them to check how long the line was and asked them to add me to the waitlist. I arrived in 20 minutes and in about 5 minutes were were seated a booth for four. My friends both had the Parisian Benedict(buttery croissant half layered with smoked ham, sautéed portabella mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. Topped with two poached eggs, creamy hollandaise sauce and fresh green onions). They both enjoyed their dish. I didn’t want a croissant for mine so I ordered the Hiker’s Benedict(Diced ham, asparagus, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and two poached eggs on English muffin halves. Topped with dill hollandaise sauce and two strips of bacon.) I thought that the dill hollandaise sauce would be chunkier than the creamy hollandaise sauce but I did not notice any difference. The dish came out warm. The bacon was crunchy, as all bacon should be. Can we try a different kind of meat on the benedicts next time? The boyfriend got the Texas Skillet(Steak strips, red and green peppers, onions and portabella mushrooms on a bed of ranch potatoes with melted Jack and Cheddar cheeses and two eggs any style. Served with an English muffin.) We were a bit disappointed with this dish. Every other time we’ve gotten a skillet elsewhere, the potatoes came out really hot but this one came out warm. The english muffins were nicely buttered though.

Great breakfast, ample parking, super for kids w kids menu. Very clean, comfortable, a bit noisy but to be expected. First visit in between sessions at the balloon fest I had a egg, potato, green onion, and jalapeño scramble and it rocked! Their coffee is good, my two children loved their chocolate chip pancake, omelet, waffle, fruit cups with apple juice! Wife, not so happy with her Spanish breakfast with beens, chili sauce, and tortilla which surprised me as many of the employees were of Hispanic descent. My only thought was my wife really knows Mexican food but maybe this was a Tex Mex twist? My second visit I had eggs, sausage, and home fries and for me it was great as well.

We had breakfast and found this place on Unilocal. The crab Benedict was phenomenal. Best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were seated immediately and the service was very good. Highly recommend. Would definitely eat there again. Returned two days later on a Sunday and waited 20 minutes for a table for 4. Well worth the wait. Waffles are outstanding. Crisp and light. Omelette with spinach and hollandaise was delicious.

Came her for breakfast the other morning. Was actually in a hurry, the wait was maybe 10 minutes for a Saturday around 11 am which is awesome. The service is always amazing here, kind and friendly staff. Jennifer was an excellent waitress! I ordered my usual, eggs Benedict and it was delicious. The eggs were nicely poached and the hollandaise sauce was creamy. However the potatoes were not as good as usual but this place still deserves a 5 star rating. Bonus was checking in and getting a free coffee!

Nice casual place with good food. There typically a short wait for a table and the food does take some time to make, so I don’t suggest arriving while starving :-). Servers and host staff were good and attentive. The cinnamon apple pancakes are definitely worth a try. They are a little unusual for pancakes but delicious!

Yum yum yum! One of my girlfriends suggested during my #AcrossAmerica roadtrip to stay in the ABQ uptown area. We were thankful that The Egg & I was immediately next door to our hotel since they did not offer complimentary breakfast. It wasn’t crazy busy when we walked in, so we were seated immediately. Be sure to check in with Unilocal and you’ll get a free cup of [delicious] coffee! I tried one of their California specials while my mom went a plain jane option. Both of us were full by the meal’s end, and satisfied with our service.

We went on a Sunday morning around 10 am. There was a 20 minute wait for 2 people, as was expected. One nice thing they do is provide complimentary coffee for guests while they wait. Our server was great, and took our order right away. If you order water, they bring a pitcher to your table. I’m one of «those» people who drinks about 6 glasses of water during their meal, so this was a nice touch. The food came relatively quickly and had a very nice presentation. Portions are more than enough. Nice combination of ingredients, although it seemed to be missing something… Maybe some spices? Overall, a great experience. Thank you for providing healthy brunch options! I will definitely be returning.

A really good restaurant for breakfast. I woke up around 9am starving and it was one of the closer restaurants to the hotel where I was staying. So I took a quick walk over. I was sat immediately. My waiter was very knowledgable and attentive. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and the Colorado Jack Scramble with bacon, toasted English muffin and the pork green chili. The food portion was decent. I expected a little more for the price I was paying. The Arnold Palmer was just OK. The waiter could’ve told me that the lemonade and tea were both unsweetened, so that was an unwanted surprise to my taste buds. I’d probably stop by here again when I’m in Albuquerque to try their brunch.

Ultimately, my first impression of this restaurant was that it was a very casual and cozy. The service seemed like nice people, but then we sat down. We got our drinks and those were good except for we didn’t get a water refill and I didnt even get ice. I’m half and half on the food it was good but the size was a little small and the price for that size is a little over the top. I got the breakfast burrito and my girlfriend got the chili rellenos. When it came to my burrito the insides were very well done, but the size of the entire burrito was pretty small. I also got the ranch potatoes those are really good though! My girlfriend’s food was not what she was expecting. correct me if I’m wrong but I thought Chile rellenos was supposed to have cheese stuffed inside? The food was a 3 out of 5. The service was okay they were quick with taking the drinks and the food but after that they didn’t come to check on us at all. the server girl even sat down with her friends at one point in the service because of how slow it was. Wouldn’t that mean she would be able to at least come and ask if we were doing okay? Service was a 2 out of 5. The most interesting thing about our visit though was the manager afterward quoting that she knows the breakfast burrito was a little iffy as well as the rellenos was being a different spin on the normal dish. We may not be back for a while but the reason we may come back is because of the manager and her suggestions.
