I was very disappointed by this, which is sad, seeing as I was very worked up to go here. They advertise themselves as a place that makes ice cream from scratch on the spot with liquid nitrogen. However, when I got there, I found this was not the case. They get pre made plain Ice cream in a soft serve state, add flavoring and other add ins to it, then add liquid nitrogen to just firm it up… not the experience I expected. Despite my disappointment at the process, I was at least excited for some yummy coffee ice cream. I could not detect even the slightest hint of coffee flavor in that ice cream, it just tasted like vanilla. Just to make sure that it wasn’t just my taste buds being off, I had my husband try a bit. He said it tasted like vanilla. Also, lots of Styrofoam usage, personal pet peeve. In my opinion there are much better options for ice cream.

Really nice owner & staff — they explain the whole process and you get to watch ice cream made instantly! Lots of flavors, mix ins and toppings — so almost anyone should be able to find something they like. The ice cream is really creamy and they have some flavors I haven’t seen around these parts before. Very reasonable prices(the portions are easily shareable) and they have a loyalty card/stamp. Looking forward to my next trip back.

Back your bumper out of that Baskin Robbins lot, ya frozen cream freak. Across the street and one block east of 4th street is a freaking ice cream factory. Seriously. The stuff is built there. Just for you. With oohs and ahhs and plenty of local spooky good times. The setup here is simple and spectacular. Choose a cup size or a cone, pick your ice cream and flavorings, and let ‘em get to work. Once your order gets a move-on, you’re going to wonder how these people make a dime of profit, because the product requires some serious manual labor. Real cream, a bevy of sweets, fruits and juices combine with liquid nitrogen in metal bowls and fill your tummy for less than five bucks, the results are lip smackin’. Throw in some hometown support for the Valley Vikings and a few activities for the kids and you have what amounts to the best treat joint near the river. Quite possibly the freshest dessert I’ve ever had the pleasure of shoving down my throat, this qualifies as five star. Why? I got brain freeze, like, five times. Once or twice, hey, that happens. But if I’m willing to tolerate excruciating mind pain repetitively, it’s only because I can’t tolerate the thought of the stuff melting in my wonton hands. Down the gullet, yo, screw it.

Very cool concept. Loved everything about fresh made to order ice cream! I had the s’mores with chocolate and marshmallow flavor and chunks of gram cracker. Delicious… They only come in 8 oz and 10 oz and I had wished I had 6 oz. besides the serving size one of the best ice creams I have ever had.

I love that this is a locally owned business, and I love that it’s in the valley. The ice cream was just okay, nothing to write home about and kind of pricey.

What a great place… great coffee and great ice cream. The kids will love watching them make it on the spot!!! It was the creamiest ice cream I have had. Good portion sizes too. They also have wifi… I would rather go here than a starbucks. Great coffee and ice cream to satisfy that sweet tooth. Great service and overall atmosphere is the best in the North Valley. Prices are just right too. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.

My new favorite dessert place! The staff is very friendly, and will explain to you everything you need to know! They make their ice cream with liquid nitrogen, which makes for a consistency between hand dipped and soft served. The owners are always around, and are extremely friendly! They want to make sure you have the best experience possible. There IS wifi, and lots of plugs to plug-in your computer. Frozenzone is definitely the best ice cream place in Albuquerque. In my opinion, New Mexico is seriously lacking in ice cream. But Frozenzone makes up for the rest of the state!
