We discovered this magnificent oasis in the desert out at the Corrales Harvest Festival this past weekend, and OMG, what a find! Sure, sure, many might think«Ice cream is ice cream, how can it be that good?» Well… this aint no ordinary ice cream, it’s custard! And Wow, it was good! Naturally, I was seasonal & chose the Pumpkin Custard in a cone. Nothing fancy, no sprinkles, none of that foo foo stuff, just straight, hardcore Pumpkin Custard, and I loved it! My daughter had the chocolate and was a big fan in bouncing fashion as well! They were serving up sundaes and other treats as well, and everyone seemed to love whatever they were diving into. The neat thing about this vendor is, he’s making it fresh right there in the trailer, I know as I was invited in for a look see. And the owners(John & Pat) were the kindest people on Earth as well. Well… Mother Theresa might have them beat, but not by much! If you see this food truck(trailer) somewhere, you owe it to yourself to stop by. You’ll be glad you did!

First timer here, I got the strawberry sundae and my wife got a rootbeer float. It was both yummy and a perfect cold treat for a hot day. One peculiar note worth mentioning: they don’t have chocolate custard until late in the day Saturday or on Sunday. I would think that is a requirement before hooking up the trailer and prepping for the event. It was excellent and someplace that I see myself going quite often.

I know my wife just reviewed these guys — but they are very worthy of a second review. Awesome, awesome custard. My favorite flavor, to date, is the lemon, but as these guys solicit flavor suggestions(via Facebook) it is entirely possible I will find a flavor I like more one day. They sell pints as well as cups & cones. Well worth the trip to 4th& Osuna, sadly they might not be there many more times this year(doe to the cooling temps).

John and Pam make the most amazing custard I’ve ever had and I try it anywhere I can find it. The smooth creaminess blows us away each time and we visited them almost every weekend this summer at 4th and Osuna. Our favorite is the lemon custard, followed up by coffee custard, and a very good third is vanilla which we use to make sundaes with. The flavors vary each weekend so follow them on Facebook or Twitter for what you have to look forward to. You can buy a container to take home and it actually tastes just as perfect 1, 2, and 3 weeks after we’ve bought it!

Delicious! I wish they had permanent shop where to go to. They always have new and seasonal flavors, so you never get bored of it. And of course, the classics like vanilla, chocolate and others are available as well. As their name suggest, they are a vending cart. A lot of times they can be found at Osuna/4th Street on Saturdays and Sundays. You can also find them at several local festivals. If you follow them through social media, you’ll know exactly where they are each weekend. Final advice: you should REALLY try this custard!
