Expected a sports bar feel but actually more upscale with live music… really nice and wide open atmosphere and classy crowd… not a huge fan of the food but im more of a comfort food type of guy so dont take my opinion to heart. A ton of different brews make this place very atrractive and the service was really good even though they were super busy… prabably be back but more for drinks than to eat… open late and the desert was bomb AF

We have tried this place several times. The beer selection is hard to beat… love the coconut porter. The food is always just okay to me… The wings are too big for my liking, but the flavors of them are really delicious! This is a great place to come grab a beer!

Beer, beer, and more beer! I’m impressed with the number of beers on tap. They have their own brews also on tap but no other local beer. Good idea to snake out the competition of other breweries. I had the seasonal beer in December and it was a Chia Beer. Sounds crazy, but it totally works. The fragrance of clove and other spices blends smoothly with the ale. I was highly impressed since I tend to be a classic IPA kind of gal. The food menu looked good but we didn’t partake, maybe next time!

I’ve had B2B and I really liked it and when I found out they also ran Lobo Beast, I was excited to try it out. My wife and I have gone a few times and had a pretty good time! Out first visit was on a quiet Sunday when we found ourselves wanted a beer and food(so many of the amazing breweries in the area do not have consistent food options… but I digress). Anyway, we actually found ourselves staying for a while and playing pool. Really great atmosphere for hanging out and enjoying one of their many, many beers(both theirs and others). The second time was with a group. We were thankful they were still serving food late, but I was less impressed with their late-night menu. On the flip side, it was a Monday so wings were really cheap! It would have been better had our waiter done a better job. It wasn’t crowded but some meals were forgotten and we had to ask for water way too many times!!! Still, I gave it 4 stars since the environment was great! And the food is pretty good. Oh, and get the home-made chips!

Good service, good beer. We ordered 30 wings on a Tuesday evening and some Mac and cheese. We forgot about the wing special being just on Monday. We sort of panicked, but the manager took 20% off of our bill!!! Thanks to Brandy for her great attention to detail and stellar service! We talked with the manager and he talked to us about the brewing operation and how his business model is evolving. Lobo Beast is on the up and up, but it is soon to be a Gazelle when they change their brewing branding. GAZELLE!

Wow, how can I not have reviewed this place yet? This is exactly what Central needed. Clean, modern interior, great outdoor seating, and a quality menu/wine list that’s incredibly affordable(I’m not a beer drinker, but I know my companions have appreciated the taps). The food is good-to-great, depending on the order, with the good being the flatbreads, which if you’re looking for a generous serving of something on the cheap, should be your first choice. I recommend both the crab and the margarita. The greats include fried pork shoulder, lime sriracha popcorn(possibly the best bar snack ever), grilled veggie and charcuterie plates(both very good portions) and the grilled chicken tenders if you’re going low carb. There are lots of TVs for your viewing pleasure, and the service is spot-on. I mean, attentive and friendly and competent, which is a really noticeable plus in the Q. I’ve never had a problem finding a parking spot out front, which is another great aspect. This is my bar of choice on Route 66.

Honestly I’ve come here regularly since the opening of this wonderful bar. What a great addition to the variety of bars and restaurants in the nob hill area, especially with its convenient location directly across the street from UNM campus on Central. With 113 beers on tap from around the country, and arguably the most diverse variety of ciders and beers in town, I love it here. Catering to broke college students with their $ 3.50 beers(and daily sales) to food gurus with their awesomely diverse gastropub style menu(from ahí tuna to duck breast to rabbit bolognese) the chef and waitstaff never fail to impress me. P. S the mushroom pesto is absolutely to die for. Let’s not forget their excellent taste in music! Who doesn’t want to have a beer listening to James Taylor or Eric Clapton?! Good food paired with kind and attentive staff who themselves have quite a palate for good beer, make this one of my most frequented bars in town.

My husband and I were walking around campus one evening and before heading home we decided to stop by here. We sat at the bar and got really good service! The workers were really friendly. My husband is the type to ask what they recommend and 8 times out of 10 we get it and are happy with our choice when going out to eat. We had a flight of beers(note to myself, before drinking a lot, take a photo of what I had so I can remember to talk about it). But all I remember is we liked just about everything we had so, I recommend Lobo Beast. What I do remember was getting an order of the popcorn! If you want a snack and aren’t too hungry try their popcorn.

I really liked this place, I feel like it should be way busier. The selection of beers and cider on tap is incredible and the gastropub fair is some of the best I’ve had in town. The service was friendly and I believe a manager even stopped by the table to see how we were doing. Seriously, if you haven’t been here yet, you need to go! Also, this would be an amazing place for buzztime trivia… think about it.

I have been here several times now, and at first this was a novelty– 101 beers on tap all for $ 3.50! Pretty great deal I would say. Lobo Beast is in a perfect location for young and old to get their drink on. Large seating areas where friends can hang out and catch up. A step up from the divey establishments up the block. They sell many great beers like others have mentioned, Odell’s is one of my favorites. The nice ambiance and helpful staff make this place easy to come back to. Things that make it not so novel: If it’s crowded, expect to wait 15 min for a beer. Usually there is only one person pouring drinks, so coming here when it’s slow is a sure win for your beer satisfaction. They do not sell local craft beers… Sorry hipsters! Food started out as large portions, moderately priced, slowly they have become skimpier on the food– meaning way less of it– and prices have stayed the same or gone up. I understand it’s more of a «high end» food they are going for, but we are hungry drunk people… C’mon man!!!

Bada Boom… Not quite. Lobo Beast 101 capitalizes on its really great location(right across the university) and does not take advantage with their food offerings. We sat outside because it is still some what warm to do so. The waitress seemed very new to it all which is okay because she had some charm to cover it up. We ordered the jalapeño soft pretzel which if you are from NM desire a spicy bite to it. It was very tame… along with their mustards. I ordered the sausage hoagies which I will not do again. The sauerkraut and cheeses did nothing for me but the Chips did! We ended up playing pool, which up-ed this review a bit. They offer tons of BREW — — -

Our server Jack was fantastic! Love love the new menu items and wine additions. We ordered the steak and polenta and both were amazing as well as the griddled beastcuit melt which is our total go-to! The only disappointment for the night was when we were told we could only get beer samples from the«beer brewed here» list… A new change from what we were told from several previous visits. Suggestion would be to limit the amount of samples per customer if that’s the issue.

As UNM alumni, my blood will run cherry until my hair turns silver, I have a lot of love for the place and honestly, I could care less about the football team, this is a basketball town. I also have a complex about the University that concerns potential. Truly, in my heart of hearts, I wish the entire institution and the student ghetto surrounding the campus could be more inclusive. I’m not a fan of inclusivity, in general, but college life is a grand exception. In cities that lack professional sports teams, college typically fill the void, but at UNM there’s not much to howl-a about, and that’s a shame. By their very nature, Universities organically create their own ecosystems of pride, identity and place. And honestly, it all begins after class, over a beer and a game of pool with the professor. Lobo Beast 101 is the first establishment in the Brickyard District that makes a serious attempt to craft such a communal watering hole, and I think they’re on to something. It’s not a sports bar and it isn’t sophisticated, it’s looking for the in-between. The«101» refers to the tap selection, which currently features at least 101 craft brews, most out-of-state, but I hear that’s changing. The price of a pint is student budget friendly, with pours that often breach 7% ABV, hefty enough to tell your professor what you really thought of the lecture. Two pool tables, a handful of TVs, the main draw is the open floor plan and substantial patio overlooking Central avenue’s curiously, um, eclectic(?) inhabitants. I like the menu, similar to the environs it’s elevated but hardly elitist. House-made sausage, incredible adult mac ‘n cheese, inspired flatbreads(try the quad bacon), slyly seasoned buffalo wings and incredible desserts. The poutine nachos were a bummer, only because the substantial stuff was souped up at the bottom of the bowl, I still haven’t tried a solid poutine in this town. A sizable brewery operation is coming together in the back, but in the meantime, check out their microbrews.(I hear they offer a red rye called«Ol’ Unilocaler».)

101 beers and ciders on tap from all over the country! They make cocktail drinks with their beers that are awesome too(try a shandy!). Their food also seems pretty good for bar food and the location of this cool sports bar is really great! Definitely worth trying!

Sold! The final star would have been given but my first drink was not the best. It was a Jalapeño and Cucumber martini. I had high hopes! It came with a lovely slice of cucumber and jalapeño floating around but the taste was hard to swallow. It was too strong — not mixed well. I went for the olé’ faithful hard cider and thankfully they have it on tap. They have quite a few options on tap for every palette. It’s amazing! On top of their tap and mixed drink selection they have sake! That’s right folks for about $ 5 they have a filtered and unfiltered option. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy a few more drinks on the patio that is just lovely. Who doesn’t love a lovely patio?! I mean c’mon :) I didn’t have any food but I did go for their basil parmesan popcorn to nosh on. Excellent choice! They have a variety of flavors. What I loved about it that it was actually basil and fresh shredded parmesan on the popcorn that adhered with some truffle oil. Are you taste buds watering? It wasn’t just some generic powered that was basil parm flavored. Two thumbs up! The other folks at my table had the wings and had nothing but amazing things to say. I’m excited to go back and try them out. All that to say, I’ll be heading back soon to sample their dinner selections. I’m really hopeful that this place will stay classy and clean. The location affords it to go either way. Let’s keep it classy Albuquerque!

If this place had existed when I was at UNM, I would probably have weighed a million pounds and definitely would have skipped more classes. Last weekend my boyfriend and I stopped by for a beer and the charcuterie plate. We were blown away by the size of the beer list! I was pleasantly surprised by the house-brewed coconut porter and he got a flight — sample of any four beers on the menu! Also, the beers are very affordably priced. The charcuterie plate came with sausage, porchetta, braised duck, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese and giardiniera with an assortment of veggie chips. It was delicious! The next weekend we returned with a friend and a larger appetite. We all enjoyed our beer choices and also split a number of dishes. The veggie plate was like a vegetarian version of the charcuterie plate and was very good. We were very impressed with the lobster hoagies — delicious and well cooked — but I would have preferred one more hoagie in place of the bisque that it came with. The orange rosemary chicken wings are awesome — very subtle but complex flavor. The disappointment for me was the poutine. I expected a take on the traditional, but this was a bit of a stretch — more nachos than poutine. Melted cheddar replaced the cheese curds, chips replaced the fries and I didn’t discover the ‘gravy’ until I got to the bottom of the dish. The highlight was the fried egg on top. When the check came, I thought there was a mistake. How could the cost be so low? No mistake, just reasonably priced! As for the ambience, I was a little unsure at first. It’s very large and loud, but after considering the proximity to UNM I think I get the concept. It’s definitely going to be an awesome student hangout — inviting and not stuffy, but with great food and drink. All in all, I can’t wait to return and keep trying new things on their enormous and inventive menu!

Go for beer and appetizers, but have dinner elsewhere. The beer selection is great, obviously, but they don’t have any local beer. It seems a little weird going to a local restaurant and not being able to order a great local beer. But all are very reasonably priced. $ 3.50 to $ 5. The bar tenders are very knowledgeable, the servers, not so much. But nonetheless, your questions will be answered, and they’ll happily offer you a sample(s). The décor and atmosphere is really nice and modern. They did a really good job with the place. I had the lobster sliders. They sounded good, but my gut reminded me that we live in the middle of a desert. Needless to say I should have gone with my gut. Lobster was dry, and overcooked. And was by no means satisfying. I finished wanting a burger. They have no burgers. How do you serve beer, and no burgers? The dinner entrees were the only drawback, and I think they’ll have to change up the menu, soon enough. 3.5 stars. So I round up.

Happily stumbled into this place to learn the first beer was free for the soft opening! I’ve been so patiently awaiting a place such as this, where the beers are numerous and the snacks savory… and best of all, right across the street from campus! Sooo many taps I couldn’t count. Also serving some delicious appetizers including chicharrones, calamari and various flavored popcorn. I’m told there will be a full menu including meals(but no burgers!)when the place officially opens. Plenty of seating here, including my favorite, the patio! They don’t yet have a bike rack outside, but they will likely be getting one soon. Unlike many of my other favorite local joints in the area, this is a classy one, sporting many local brews that will be brewed in the back, as well as a large number of other non-local(?) brews. This is quite different than what I’m typically in search of. I usually appreciate an assortment of locally brewed beers — but there is also something to be appreciated about many non-local brews as well. This place seems to have em all. I’ll definitely be back… especially for happy hour! …or to «study».
