Chris is so nice and has a great sense of humor. Everything is very kid oriented and friendly. The shop has everything you could want for your own magic. Show is cards, rings, scarf & egg tricks for an hour. Everyone gathers in the shop until the magician is ready & then off to the very intimate theatre. A nice experience for kids and silly seniors like me.

I’m not sure what more I can add to the other review, but I’ll give it a shot. Max is great! I mean really talented. I’m no magician, but I’ve seen a few shows in my time, including meeting Penn And Teller and seeing a few of their tricks up close. Max is seriously world-class. His tricks are seamless and very skillful. And he is one of the nicest guys you’re likely to find. His shop is filled with a wide array of magic tricks for all levels, as well as t-shirt, regular card decks and other neath things. Plus, you can schedule a show for you, your friends or just buy a couple of tickets for his public show. I won’t belabor a review of the magic show, you can see reviews on the show. But suffice it to say, wow! Een if you have never been interested in performing magic tricks, swing by Max’s. I bet you will change your mind…

Abracadabra and Hocus Pocus! Now we will make a Magician appear in Albuquerque, on Central no doubt. What a great addition to our City. Max the Magician has his own unique twist to his sleight of hand tricks and other illusions. I really enjoyed his show and hope others will check it out. Thanks to Max for giving us the opportunity to see his show. Most of us do not think about this type of entertainment in Albuquerque. It has never really been offered here that I am aware. So finally something unique and entertaining.

One business, two shows. In the Shop, Max holds down Albuquerque’s most comprehensive magic/trickery consumer experience that I know of in New Mexico. The Theater is another thing altogether, which is why I created a separate listing for it. Buy a ticket, catch a performance and review at will. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Shop is the glass case facing west, where you’ll find Max’s personal DVDs. Here’s the deal with this guy: after 32 years in the deception biz, after 48 states of performances and teachings, he finds himself here in the 505. His resumé is exceptional. His personable manner makes a visit to the business a revelation; he has stories to tell, a dynamic interest in Albuquerque, and more than a few tricks to play on unsuspecting customers. As his sidewalk sign broadcasts, he’s been waiting for you. The business is tucked inside a building that hosts Lilly Barrack, it’s more than a little off the beaten path, and absolutely worth your meander. More than a gift shop, the place offers lots of tutorial materials that can make you the life of the party(if you want to be That Guy, that is). Really, this place is a treat in ABQ. Consider putting this place on your holiday shopping list.

We are lucky to have Max’s Magic Shop here in the Land of Enchantment! When you visit the shop, you will likely find the owner, Max Krause, taking care of you. Although Max is internationally recognized as a Magician and a Mentalist, he is very approachable and able to help beginners and professionals. His vast knowledge of magic is a great resource for all of his customers. Recently I requested an item and Max directed me to a better, more appropriate choice for me that was actually less expensive than my original thought. The product was exactly what I needed. He may have lost a few dollars that day, but his knowledge of his products and his customer earned him my long-term loyalty. I’ve never been disappointed with a purchase from Max and I encourage anyone who is interested in magic to visit Max’s shop. Ask him to show you a trick or two. You’ll be glad you did.
