Very Disappointing! Used to enjoy the food, now it tastes so processed! Service was good, that’s why I gave it a 2, otherwise, 0 was in order. Had the Chicken Cordon Blu. FF were soggy and the bread, a baguette, was chewy and softy. I know some places make them like this, but I’m used to bread that’s actually baked. The bread is gross! The meat loaf, thank goodness I didn’t order it, but my boyfriend did. It was dense and just meat and fake garlic flavored bread. I was half expecting to see that pink meat goo somewhere mixed into it. Will not go back! Couldn’t eat my meal, what I did eat, I hope I don’t get sick!

The atmosphere here is great. So relaxing and inviting. Reminds me of grandmas house. But they’ve recently changed a lot of the menu and it’s just not as good. I feel like they need better ideas if they are going to change things. Or they should just head back to the original menu.

I can’t say a bad thing about the place. I was expecting a Marie Callendar’s vibe from the outside of the place, but was pleasantly surprised to find a quirky creole-french thing going on inside. This worried me for a moment because the last kitschy restaurant I visited was full of obnoxious staff trying to up sell us on everything, but as soon as we met out waitress I knew it wouldn’t be like that. Let the good times roll indeed. I had chicken crepes, my favorite person had the pot pie. Everything was delicious. We would have tried dessert, but we were too full after cleaning our plates. Our waitress was attentive but not overly intrusive. She got the job done and made sure we were happy without a single annoyance. Bravo. I wish I had gotten her name. It’s good to know management at Mimi’s let’s the staff be their own person. No crazy up sells or badgering the customers. I’d happily go back again. The menu has so much to offer. I need to try more of this food. I can’t believe I spent 11 years in this city and I’ve never made it to Mimi’s before now! Do yourself a favor and go. I will be sad if you don’t have the same experience that I did, but give it a try if you haven’t already.

Wait staff was great to include the manager who was like the dudes on in living color from years ago… he had 15 jobs mon! French Onion soup… WOW! Salad was a little wilted, and the entrée’s were ok. Didn’t seem fresh. I will definitely go back. The bread, I almost forgot about the bread… I will go back for the bread!!! Good experience!

This place is a joke. I came here with my parents who were celebrating their 30th anniversary and it was more of a funeral that a celebration. We had two elderly, handicapped people in our group so we requested that we be seated at a table. We were then led to a booth and after we reminded them that we had requested a table we were seated at a table meant for 4, only there were six of us. We had no flatware at the table and it took awhile for the waitress to come by with our drink order. She was very busy so we didn’t mind the bit of the wait. After she brought out the bread, we pointed out that we had no silverware with which to spread the butter and she said«Yeah, I know». She then proceeded to dump an handful of silverware on the table and walk off. After we were finished with our appetizer, we had a stack of plates and multiple empty glasses sitting on our table. They were still there when they brought out our food which made for incredibly awkward shuffling considering we were at a small table to begin with. My grandmother asked the waitress if they had any biscuits because my great-grandma can’t chew crusty bread. She simply answered«No» and gave no alternative options, despite the fact that I had seen croissants on the menu. My grandma asked if they had plain white bread and they did so we got that. My mother had ordered a side caesar salad and a chicken breast. What she got was a half breast that looked as if Edward Scissorhands was the chef. We asked to speak with the manager and he said that it was sliced for a salad. Uh, no. This was a piece of chicken jerky(it was horribly dry) that had been hacked at and then thrown on a plate. She requested a new breast and asked for some seasoning on the second one. By the time the second breast came out, everyone was finished with their lunch. The second breast was indeed a full breast and while nice and juicy, had the same lack of seasoning as the first. Considering they sell several dishes with seasoned chicken breasts, I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just given her one of those. My grandmother’s salmon was dry and the other dishes we ordered(meatloaf, fish and chips, and a French Dip) were adequate but nothing amazing. The au jus for my French Dip was warm but not hot. By the time the meal was over, we had empty glasses all over the table because our waitress would bring refills but not remove any glasses. When we got the check, the two chicken breasts had been taken off of the tab. Each only cost $ 3.49 so it wasn’t as if the restaurant was going out of their way to make things up to us. Honestly, this was some of the worst service I have ever received and I am shocked that they didn’t offer to at least comp the drinks as well. This was a favorite restaurant of my parents but they will not be going back.

This glorified village inn did nothing to impress me. The food was bland. Maybe that’s from living in NM for a life time? The décor is fun, the music is french quarter jazz. I had the corned beef Benedict and BF had mushroom brie crepes. Like I said, boring. Go to standard diner instead. You’ll thank me later.

Everything was great. The waitress did a wonderful job keeping up with our party of 10, and the food was superb.

Wow! Management needs to take control of this place. I rarely if ever make a negative post on Unilocal but this operation is a complete mess. Daniel the Host was the only person in the restaurant doing anything to meet the guests needs our waitress(Norma) was non-existent for the first 20 minutes and we only saw her a total of three times the entire time we were here. We asked to speak to a manager and were told«none of them made it in today». The only reason I am giving two stars is because Daniel did make a solid attempt to accommodate and the food was pretty good, however we had to order two kids plates to get our child the food he wanted… they would not make any exceptions. This place needs a GM in the worst way, we won’t be making it back here anytime in the near future. Get Daniel some help and promote him, fire the wait staff and get new management!

I have been to the Mimi’s Café in Oceanside/Carlsbad, CA several times back in 2003 when we were stationed there. It was one of our favorite places. We tried the one here in ABQ last weekend. It was okay, the French onion soup was just as I remembered it. I had the chicken crepes, I was not very impressed with the flavors. Our server was quick on the tea refills, which made my husband happy. I would probably go back for a lite lunch of the soup and salad. The inside didn’t seem as clean as it could have been. I would recommend that they kick that up a notch.

Best muffins EVER! I’ve been coming to Mimi’s for many years now, and I have to say the quality is still excellent! Always good service, and the food is DELICIOUS. I’m a sucker for a good salad, and when I’m craving one for lunch, I go to Mimi’s for the Bacon Bleu… fresh greens topped with fresh-crunched bacon bits, bleu cheese, walnuts and strawberries… mouth watering right now. To balance out my healthy salad, I opt for a buttermilk muffin(pumpkin, if it’s Fall)! There’s somethin about a crispy muffin top, covered in cinnamon sugar. Dee-lish! If you’re in the mood, you can get a glass of wine. They DO have happy hour! Highly recommend!

I don’t like to give bad reviews but this one has to be done. I took my daughter and her friend here for her birthday. They ordered chicken pot pies. What came out were pies with the chicken on the side. The cook forgot to put chicken in the«chicken» pot pies and the server had the nerve to bring it to us. He said to cut open the pie and insert the grilled chicken. I’m not sure if this was the reason for the bland taste or if it’s because they don’t taste good anyway. He did give us a free desert for her birthday but charged us full price for the Pot pies. I laughed about it and paid it in full because I didn’t want to put a damper on my daughters night out. I probably won’t go back.

The food here was very good, but the atmosphere was confusing at best. The café is New Oreleans themed, for some reason, although the menu does not seem to be related to the décor. I did apprecuate the All That Jazz reference on the wall though, very well researched. The food here was pretty good! I got the hickory burger, which was messy and well cooked. The rest of my party got salads(again, for some reason) but to my surpise they looked very good! Salads wwre well stocked with toppings and the lettuce was fresh. They also come with a homemade muffin or baguette. I am generally not a fan of the homemade spin on goods — why would I care where it was made if it tastes good? — but this might have been an exception to the rule. The muffins were moist and topped with melted butter, a nice touch you only see in New England cafes. Overall good eats, and good service.

I really like this restaurant! The food is always amazing and the ambience is really nice. The only thing is sometimes my silverware is dirty but I just ask for new silverware. I would recommend the carrot bread and the corn chowder its amaze!

Normally, Mimi’s would garner a 3.5, but because our server was super nice and the place was very clean, I’ll give them the bump. Mimi’s is the type of place that everyone’s grandma would really enjoy. It’s a canned(i.e. chain) French-style restaurant that’s not haute cuisine. Fashioned like a little house on the outside, and full of French knick knacks inside, this place makes one feel cozy and slightly sentimental for no reason whatsoever. Food is all-American, with some French touches here and there. Croissants, beignets, croque mouisseur/madame, that type of thing. They serve wine, because c’mon it’s French-ish. For what it’s worth the burgers I had were very good. I also liked the tomato soup. Very clean inside and out. Whoever runs this place seems to understand that their white collar clientele from the surrounding office spaces will want a tidy place to enjoy their food.

Didn’t have a sitdown meal, but only stopped in to pick up some muffins for a meeting. Love the fact that Mimi’s does partnerships with some Albuquerque Public schools. They’ve also been known to get certificates out to students for a good attendance or good grades. I like to give my business to companies that give back to the community. Two thumbs up

I have visited Mimi’s in various states and have eaten at the ABQ Mimi’s many times over the years. Today(Labor Day holiday) I took my 2 teenage daughters to lunch and the restaurant was about 1⁄3 full. The hostess went to seat us in a far back corner booth next to the bathrooms. I asked if we could sit at one of the tables in the open area instead of «in the corner by the bathroom». With attitude, she pointed to a couple of tables and I said sure, either one is great. I observed the hostess walk into the kitchen and tell 3 – 4 servers something. They all turned to look at me. Later on, an elderly lady made the same request and the hostess said, of course — gave me a dirty look, and seated the woman in the open area near us. What’s with that? Our server acted as though I was going to be a real problem and gave us the worst service. For example, it took 5 mins to provide us with hot water for tea, then other tables(twice) that came in 10 – 15 minutes after were served their food. Our food took 35 minutes and the only apology that came was when she put it in front of us saying they were short staffed.(A salad, turkey dinner(all pre-made, I’m sure) and a Ciabatta sandwich.) Funny how it was empty in there and other people were getting their food while the waitresses talked about ADHD, child support, etc. But it was«short staffed kitchen problem»??? So bottom line was that the waitress that decided to join in with her hostess friend and slow roll our order received $ 0.00 and a note. If you are going to pull this BS then I highly recommend you don’t play it all out in front of the«un-suspecting» guests. We will never return.

No ma’am, I said a table NOTTHEBAR #solodiner. I like listening to music as I walk up to the entrance; nice addition. Calm, not quite booming inside. Quaint & decent décor. Friendly staff. Quick seating. Decent pricing. Once seated I am greeted with many different mimosa, coffee & soda choices. Totally rad. There’s all American breakfast, sandwiches, or quiche and other assortments of food choices. Waffles, eggs & bacon for me please. Which all were tasty & presented in a timely fashion. Thanks Mimi!!!

First off, I’m glad I gave this place a second chance. The first time we went there(probably 2 or so years ago), we waited 10 minutes at the front(no other customers were there) and no one came to help or seat us, so we left. We tried this place again about 4 months ago after we heard some very good reviews. The food is great! I had the quiche and my husband had the chicken meal that they have. The prices are decent(They have a 3 course meal for like $ 13). I went there and picked up a quart of their tomato basil soup(it’s amazing). Unfortunately, on my way home, it tipped over and spilled all over the passengers side of my car. I went back to buy a new quart(I still wanted it, after all), and the hostess gave me the new quart of soup for free(with a smile). I’ve heard the breakfast here is good, although I haven’t tried it yet.
