Ned’s On the Rio Grande

This is the most filthy and grotesque place on earth. The place is dirty don’t even want to think about the kitchen’s cleanliness. The service is mediocre, slow and inappropriate. The drinks are made with nasty mixers of cheap quality. I could not drink the bloody Mary I ordered, i was charged for it because I «tried it» ha? Food was greasy, not even the bread or biscuits were acceptable, the chips were also greasy and nasty. I would never go back to this place, much less take anyone nor recommend this place at all, it should be shut down by authorities for nastiness, not to mention the rest!!! NO STARS I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS PLACE ACTUALLY LAWFULLY OPERATES. DOESN’T EVEN GET A PEDESTRIAN RATING, IS BEYOND BAD.

I live about three blocks from the place, so I’ve tried to have a good time there. I haven’t. The food is really suspect, the staff seem pretty unhappy and if you’re sitting on the patio, prepare for lung cancer. That said, they cater mainly to the biker crowd and hey, you wanna go where everybody knows your name, right?

I was there on the same day as Diana T. and I’d have to agree – worst restaurant experience yet. It was only slightly not terrible as we were with good company, but that also made it worse as I suggested that we have brunch there so I felt terribly guilty when brunch turned into a 3 hour affair… note this was NOT a buffet.(bad joke). Anyway, didn’t see any food come out from about 10 minutes after we arrived until at least an hour and a half when ours came, the whole thing was uncomfortable with the place filling up and hungry diners just staring at each other. It wasn’t clean by any stretch of the imagination and there was no apologies about the wait nor offers to give discounts or anything. In fact, when my egg skillet dish came out sans eggs, their excuse was that they rushed the order out so they forgot them. Hmmm… must have been more going on??? Eggs were brought out quite quickly and I couldn’t blame the friendly waitress, there are certainly bigger issues going on with this establishment.

EXTREMELY… slow…service. Enough said. Won’t be back.

While in the area I had visited Ned’s a couple of times for a beer. The last time I was there was with a friend that suggested we go to Ned’s for lunch. I was a little skeptical but I was assured it was good.
The menu was much more than your average bar menu and the food was excellent and well prepared. Also, the service was great; it was like the waitress could read your mind as to what you needed from across the room.
I’ll return again for both food and drink when I’m in the area.
