Had a relleno burrito for the first time in my life, based on other reviews — and it was legit! Also had the deep fried shredded beef taco. Both were on point. You won’t be let down.

Tasty shredded beef fried tacos. The plate comes with rice, beans, salad, and a tortilla. I used the tortilla to make a rice and bean burrito. Solid meal for $ 10 with a drink.

I don’t know what they were trying to do with the burrito plate, but it wasn’t anything close to edible. I couldn’t tell if they used too much of the wrong spice, or if the meat was bad. The beans and rice were good, not salty enough, but I can live with it — better less salty than overly salty! The salad had an inedible end piece that took up most of the space. If you’re trying to save money on salad by inserting an end piece in the plate to short your customers, you’re really not interested in having customers. I used to love Pericos, maybe it’s just this location — this is the second time I got food from here and was unimpressed or had to throw it away. I guess I got spoiled by the Pericos on Yale. Well, that’s a «never again.» There are much better places in town than this Pericos, and oh boy are they better!

I really like this place. They have some of the best chicharones in town! Small and crunchy as they should be. Breakfast is good too.

There’s nothing fancy or gimmick-y about Perico’s. They are the typical hole-in-the-wall dive joint that has all your favorite New Mexican food. The main difference this place has over most other places is that it tastes better than most. They deep fry their tacos and they make some ridiculously good burritos. If you haven’t had them you should definitely try them at least once. I recommend the #7 chile relleno stuffed burrito(my favorite stuffed burrito in town) and the 6 pack of shredded beef tacos. I also recommend that you bring cash. For a while they had issues with credit card machines. I think they changed systems but they add a small surcharge for credit card usage now. Boo. I know.

Food was good, but they got my order wrong. If you ask for extra in your burrito, it may be wrong. Also, they said they would put extra salsa out for my order. There was no salsa. I went up twice to the counter to get salsa to my table. First time there? Be warned that they ask for a tip. I thought they would serve us, but nope. It is self serve. No need to tip.

Abq, Local, N.M. This is a great little place to grab some great tasting food, and they have a soda drink stand inside for any drink you could ever want. I got the tacos today, but my most favorite is the chile relleno burrito. If you haven’t tried this place you need to.

I went here with my sister last week before a concert. It was packed for a Thursday’s night which is a good sign. We ordered the Coconut special with a chicken burrito, and fish taco. She also ordered her son a tostada. We got the chile on the side and it only came with two tiny portions so we had to ask for more. Everything was pretty good. Not the best though. We ordered Sopapillas on the side which were HUGH and delicious. Both my sister and I agreed that if we were to go back we would just get a stuffed Sopapillas with beans and rice smothered with red or green. Both chiles were excellent.

I recommend this place. I live in RR so I typically visit the golf course location. It’s fast, convenient and great tasting. I would have given a five star review except I had to ask to have a table wiped down. It’s a pet peeve of mine to see employees standing around talking to each other when there’s side work that always needs to be done in restaurants. When asked for the table to be cleaned, the male cashier apologized and came to wipe a table for me and my children.

This is a nice small Restaraunt with friendly service and quality food. Television to watch if your alone and a monster selection of soft drinks. I enjoy the daily specials but my favorite has to be the sopapilla burrito. I also recommend the coconut special combo plate. Tons of food for a low price!

Went last Saturday with the wife. The wife said it was just ok. I was disappointed with the rice it looked good, but was bland. The rest of the meal was ok. It’s priced well. But eh.

Had the house special and chips and salsa. Love the homemade chips and the puréed salsa. The tacos looked good and tasted ok with the salsa. Without the salsa seemed bland and greasy. One and done.

At this point, the ho-hum outweighs the delicioso in my experience with this spot, but the next time I’m around I’ll give Ellen J’s six-pack-o-tacos a shot, even though she is from Austin. Actually, that’s a credit to her, I dig Austinites, but like most New Mexicans I’m more than a little cautious of advice from a Lone Star palate. My first visit was quite favorable. I had a green chile chicken burrito for lunch, and I remember really liking it. It was one of those experiences where you bite into a pit of cheesy goop where the chicken sort of mangles with the beans and the whole mess ends up on your unshaven chin and many, many napkins are required. I thought it did the trick. Visit dos: my fault. Acting with pure naïveté, I tried a fish burrito, not because I had a craving but because I’d been doing the episcaterian gig for a long stretch and it was the only safe item on the menu. It wasn’t exactly safe, it turned out. The fish was… well, fish, the essence of fish enveloping the entire ordeal. I managed three bites. Last weekend: I’m only barely recalling the breakfast burrito, it wasn’t anything worth committing some brain cells to, apparently. The bacon was stringy, thin and weak, I think the green chile passed the test, but the pinto beans messed up the synergy. As a general rule, I think it proves that some places should stick to their strengths. Perico’s is more artistically inclined with Mexican — not New Mexican — cuisine. One final plus. I’ve always enjoyed the employees working here. There’s a family-run vibe to the bunch, and often you’ll find various generations working hard in the kitchen, crafting a product they’re clearly proud of. The facility is clean, too. Three stars at this point, worth further exploration.

Breakfast burrito is very good. Fresh tortillas. Food is made to order. Sopapillas were awesome.(But real honey would be better than the packaged«honey sauce.»)

It’s simple: get the six pack of ground beef and potato tacos for you and a pal(or just you if you’re really hungry) – they deep fry the corn tortillas along with the meat and potatoes for a fantastico treat(I hear they use toothpicks to keep the tacos from opening up while cooking). Topped with cheese, lettuce, and tomato and one of the tastiest, not too hot, hot sauces in town… yum…I must get more before I leave for home… BEST tacos in town(this has been confirmed by an ABQ native with high foodie standards).
