Great service and delicious food! I ordered a two taco special and it was delicious. We decided to venture back in a second time within s week. Salsa was delicious and chips were crisp and fresh. Service is outstanding. We were greeted, seated and served our drinks right away. I enjoyed the papa nachos. Excellent food and service!

Let’s talk about green chile… If you like it simple, green and free of tomatoes and other things then you are right… otherwise you’re doing it wrong(ha-ha) I’ve been making green chile stews and salsa for years and this is the Best green chile I’ve had in New Mexico. I ordered the green chile beef enchiladas, flat style with an egg… delicious! Beans are cooked with lard, very tasty and a nice mix of mashed and whole beans.

Enjoyable mexican food! Corn tortillas are fantastic! Our experience was great. Food portions are huge. I ordered a lean steak and been burrito with green chilli. I enjoy a good burrito, and this was very good! Not the best burrito I’ve ever had, but pretty damb good! If the burrito came with more green chilli for its massive size… perfection!

Decided to try this place because of the good reviews. Waited 20 minutes for our food. Now for the food: Looks good. Daughters burrito is enormous. Red is hot but not made from pods which is one of my pet peeves. Chili powder, water, and flour do not chile make. Way too much cheese in the cheese enchiladas. Green is hot and full of flavor. Overall the food was decent. Others got their food much faster than we did. Not likely to return.

These folks are AMAZING! We went there with our entire Lacrosse crew – 40 of us(that is not a typo) including youth and adults – we filled all but three of the tables in the restaurant and patio. The folks at Papa’s served us as quickly as possible with that size group, the food was amazing, and they never stopped smiling. Most of out group had burritos that all looked great. I had a shrimp dish that was very spicy and prepared to perfection. My lips are still tingling! Their quesadillas come highly recommended by my son. I cannot rave enough about both the quality of their food and the quality of their staff.

I stopped in early evening. I got the Machaca burrito and quesadilla. Food was well-prepared. Service was decent as well. Ambiance is exactly what you’d expect for an authentic Mexican joint. I wasn’t completely wow’d, but it was darned good and I’d eat there many times if I lived here.

The fish tacos are hands down my favorite. Have some pineapple soda handy, they are spicy! Also, fair warning, the service can get slow in prime time, but the food is always worth the wait.

Updated review: We finally went back(after the last terrible review I left) and I was pleased to see that at least now they aren’t requiring an entrée order for chips. They charge $ 2.29 for an order of chips and salsa, which is quite reasonable in my opinion. My husband had their special of chicken fajitas and really enjoyed them. He thought the beans were excellent also. My veggie quesadilla was very good. We’ve been missing visiting Papa Nachos and I’m glad we gave them another try.

The staff was extremely friendly!!! I ordered the chicken taco and cheese enchilada combo and it was really good. The chips were delicious, too. I went by myself so nothing else to share, but I was glad I went and I will be back!

This is our first visit at Papa Nacho’s. They are about five minutes away from the house, but in a nondescript neighborhood strip mall, so have never come across it. Thanks to Unilocal,we expanded our horizons. They don’t have much atmosphere, and the chips are so-so, but the salsa is really good. Lots of tomato and garlic with a slow-building burn. My husband had the carne Adovada burrito which was huge and well-seasoned. I had a combination plate with a relleno and shredded beef enchilada. The shredded beef was on the chewier side for me, but the relleno was perfection. The hubster liked his burrito as well. Well seasoned meat and very tender. Overall, it was a great lunch for not a lot of bucks. Not a spot for a special meal, but a great pick for a tasty Mexican meal. Solid pick!

The best Carne Adovado in the Southwest. By far. The service is good and it’s very family like, in other words Authentica. The food is all fresh and the prices are reasonable. I go about twice a month. It’s in the neighborhood Love it.

Took the advice from other Unilocalers and got the Macha burrito and the extra side of guacamole. Great choice. Reminiscent of beef jerky. It was the best wet burrito I have ever had. Instead of beans, I asked for rice inside; also asked for green and red sauce 50 – 50. Loved the red sauce with the guacamole; flavor of the spicy red and cooling creamy guacamole was really really good. Wife ordered the fish tacos and loved it; special peppers were used to spice up the dish that was reminiscent of Sichuan pepper corns. Chef was super awesome in allowing my wife and I to be served even we arrived a few minutes after the seating deadline.

I am not really a big Mexican food fan — however my wife(aka Vicki S) is, which automatically make me one. This small, out of the way, family run place is actually pretty good. Service is prompt and friendly and the food is pretty darn good. I had ordered the shrimp enchiladas and when they can out they were hot, full of shrimp, and we’re not overly smothered with cheese like some places. All and all, not too bad, and I try to support the family businesses rather the big chains so it was definitely a good diner — give it a try!

I haven’t been here in quite awhile. I am never disappointed with their food. Their tacos are my fave but I enjoy their nachos too as well as the fish taco plate. Today I was in the mood for a taco combination plate! They were out if sopapillas so slightly saddened but now I can go somewhere else to get my sweet tooth fix! If you haven’t been here its in a small strip mall south of Circle K. Don’t blink because you might miss it and you’ll be sorry you did!

This place is meh. The gordita is good. That’s just the masa its self and well it’s probably because of the oil who doesn’t love something that has been in oil. Everything else just sucks. The asada is bland doesn’t take like any kind of carne asada I’ve had. I think chipotle taste better than the one at papa nachos. The rice is pretty good as a Mexican I desperately wish mine was that good. I just need my mom to teach me her secret. The beans are also delicious. But really I am not going to a Mexican place just for rice and beans what am I vegetarian? They also don’t have salsa. I’m sorry but what? If you don’t have green or red salsa what is wrong with you? Finally the service. The waitress had three tables and guess what happened? She tried to deliver our food to the wrong table. I’m sorry you had two tables… Something is seriously wrong if it’s hard two keep up with three tables. All things considered I’ll be back if it is a Sunday. Oh wait a minute… They are closed on Sunday’s so guess that’s a no.

Stopped here as we were driving by… having eaten here only once probably 10 years ago, I thought we would try something new. Walked in and was pleasantly and immediately greeted and sat. We ordered chips and quest wich came out pretty quickly. Probably 12 ounces of cheesy goodness, with fresh chips and salsa. Delicious! I ordered the bean and chicharron burrito plate, red and green. Shredded chicharrones are hard to explain… not what I expected, or necessarily even wanted, but I ended up really enjoying it. The beans were wonderful, rice lacking just a bit of flavor. Both red and green chile were pretty good. Mari ordered a combo plate with a relleno and Carne adovada enchilada. The relleno was amazing! Cheesy inside and crunchy outside. The Carne adovada was pretty good, but there is a spice in the red chile I wasn’t too fond of. That, however, did not stop me from eating it. We will be back. Service was wonderful, the bathrooms were clean. The cooks wore hair nets and my peak in the kitchen seemed quite clean as well. See you again soon Papa Nachos, I can’t wait to try the machaca everyone raves about!

What does it tell you when over half the reviewers recommend the Machaca burrito(or tacos)? Hmm, maybe I should listen? Holy crapolé, this burrito is ridiculously good! The owner recommended trying the tacos Machaca, which I shall next time. Nitty-Gritty: –portions are plentiful, meat is tender, flavorfull, and not an ounce of fat! –I ate half my burrito and was full. My aunt failed to finish her«lite» plate. –Chips & salsa are«pay per basket.» Considering how large most americans have become, and how hefty the entrée portions are, this is NOT a problem. if anything, it helped my burgeoning waistline. –The guacamole is not cheap, $ 1.79 for a 2oz cup… but dang is it WORTHIT!!! For sure one of the top 3 in town, no doubt. –We went in during the lunch rush, yet they served us right away, had our order taken & waters brought within 5min of seating. kudos. –Service was with a smile throughout, start to finish. Owner(s) couldn’t be friendlier, and the other server was pleasant as well. Walked out at a reasonable price for two ppl, with half of my ridiculously tasty burrito heading home with me for tomorrows lunch. tough to beat that, if you ask me. Did I mention the Machaca is amazing? probably the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had quite a few machaca burritos… One small fyi: apparently they cook everything fresh each day, so when they’re out, they’re out. e.g., have a backup plan when they run out of Carne Adovada, because they don’t make a ton and serve it for three days straight, what you get was prepared that day. Farm to table Mexican style, yeehaw!
