They are located in an industrial part of town but close to I-25. They have limited parking. The place is clean and the folks are friendly. I got phở and my husband got a combo vermicelli plate. I felt like eating phở but I love vermicelli dishes. Should’ve ordered the vermicelli. Phở was average. They have a wide variety of options for vermicelli dishes. Good to know when the cravings come.

I’d give them 5 stars but I had some phở from Viet Taste last night and it was 2 dollars cheaper with more meat. Other than that this place is legit and delicious. I had the well done steak phở. I’ll have to try some bun with pork to really know how I feel though. The place shares a lot with a dumpy hotel and it’s on the edge of an industrial area next to I-25. Great for take out, they’re very fast and after going inside not a bad place to dine in either. The phở though, that’s what people get here.

Initial thoughts: Nice, quiet little spot off the freeway amongst various hotels; excellent for the weary traveler! Staff was very friendly and welcoming, I got my to go order quickly. The shrimp spring rolls were warm which tells me that they were fresh, but I really look for a cooler temperature with spring rolls. The peanut sauce was also fresh and with a decent portion of chopped peanuts to add great texture to the sauce. I ordered the rare beef phở, and unfortunately the broth was not hot enough to cook the meet so I had to reheat it myself. The broth had some depth to it, so that was a nice surprise. The noodles did not taste fresh, but I did get a very generous portion of veggies with my soup! Overall this is a great place to grab dinner while passing through town, especially in the snow! Biggest criticism: please work on the temperature of the food and include sriracha with to go orders. Thank you for a great dinner!

The place looks sketchy at first because it’s attached to the hotel. The phở was good for what we were expecting to find in Albuquerque. The service is what really stood out to us– waiter was friendly and engaged us in conversation. We are glad we visited!

The Phở is pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty simple but don’t let it fool you. The food can be complex.

I have been to many Phở places and this was the best by far! Large portions, great quality and flavor, and inexpensive. I got the meatball Phở and chicken dumplings. Both were delicious. Love this place!

First impressions– oh, oh this place looks sketchy. Just off the highway attached to a dive hotel. Run down but clean. Well at least the grime looks clean. Shrimps rolls get 3.5 stars. Well made, but lettuce was a bit old. Still pretty tasty. Presented with very large bowl and no problems getting the extra veggies. Broth is aromatic with a TON of garnish like limes, jalapeños, basil, cilantro and bean sprouts. Broth a bit weak but not overly salted which is pretty typical. Chicken was sliced very thin and not very much of it. However I’m pleasantly surprised to find this place in ABQ of all places. Worth a visit to get your phở on

Was so excited to try this place because I love phở. However, we went in for lunch and got our phở only to find a bug in the hoisin sauce lid. I brushed it off and went to my phở, I looked down and saw four more of those bugs in my soup! I am disgusted by this. Luckily I didn’t eat any of my phở before I noticed the bugs. The waiter asked us «you’re not going to eat here?» No, no I am not!

Looks pretty bad from the outside and is attached to a seedy hotel but don’t let that stop you from trying it out. I love Phở and eat it whenever the opportunity arises. While this place doesnt have the best Phở i have ever had the food was tasty and the price was reasonable. The service was good but really nothing special.

Everything I tried here was excellent. The pot stickers and pork spring roll appetizers were both wonderful. The Phở was excellent! Prices are very fair and all the food is authentic and delicious.

Phở with rare beef is excellent. Egg rolls are a must have. Vermicelli bowl with pork and egg rolls is outstanding. The portions are huge and the price is low. The only problem is I have to choose.

I am new to Vietnamese cuisine, so I had to rely on Unilocal reviews. Pho79 is easy to find, and the building seemed clean. At the suggestion of a Unilocal reviewer, I started with the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls with rice noodles. They were exquisite. They were fresh, lightly crisp veggies, and the peanut sauce«to die for»! The waiter happily made a lemonade/tea at my request, and it was tangy and not too sweet. For the main dish, I chose #32, a stir fry with different meats and shrimp with veggies over noodles. Ample portions of food. The flavor was good. Klaus was an attentive and efficient waiter, and tended to my every wish. I will definitely return on my next visit to Albuquerque.

Okay so first of all, the fact that I stopped in was a complete accident. I was starving at work and was super tired of the, very few, options within a few minutes drive of my office and since I rarely have enough time to go into a restaurant, look a the menu, order something and then actually eat my food, I’m pretty limited on my choices. Anyway, I found them on Unilocal,of all places, checked out their website and decided to place a to-go order. I ordered the Deluxe Noodle Soup(Phở) which I’ve eaten homemade many times before, not by me but by a friend. It was HUGE, they gave me a to-go box full of everything you could possible want in your Phở lime wedges, green onions, cilantro, Thai basil, bean sprouts, I’m sure I’ve overlooked something…, meat and a huge pile of rice noodles. There is also a quart container of the super rich broth to pour over all the deliciousness. The owners of this family-run business are very friendly, my orders are always done fast and accurate so I will continue to come back often!

How good are these prices? Too good. Most bang for your buck in the city for phở. I can’t believe how reasonable they are here. A bit oddly located… right by a hotel(or motel?). Let’s put this in prospective, I would enjoy a night at Motel 76 to eat here. A hidden place that you should seek out because of the taste, and the staff(they were fast, friendly and helpful). Spring Rolls were great — and I wish I ordered the Spicy Lemongrass Vermicelli Bowl.

The location is SHADY! It sits at the entrance of a trucker motel just off the interstate and heaven only knows what goes on at that place. However, if you shield your eyes and just walk in to the restaurant you’ll be greeted by the friendliest staff. I had the phở and it was really tasty! Not salty like some tend to be. Only draw back was that they didn’t have Bahn Mi sandwiches. I love me some Phở with a Bahn Mi sandwich! I’ll definitely be going back for lunch… not dinner. I think I would be too scared just because of the location. :)

This is probably one of the best vietnamese restaurants that I have eaten at here in Albuquerque. They have really great food at reasonable prices. We eat here at least once a week as this is our favorite restaurant. My favorites are the #17 combo vermicelli bowl, the combo beef phở, and the combination fried rice. The chicken dumplings are a good appetizer and their iced(green) tea is delicious. Also, when they are in season, try the crawfish. This is a family run business. The owner and his kids are all very friendly and welcoming and will often remember you and take out time to talk to you. Highly recommend this place.

Phở 79 is my obsession right now. The portion sizes really are huge, and the prices are the best I’ve found in town(under $ 7 for a bowl of phở.) The staff are always smiling and seem to really be proud of their restaurant. It’s a great place, and I think it’s my favorite phở in ABQ because the broth is just perfect. I’m slowly becoming a regular here!

Once again, a Unilocal find… I’d call myself a phở freak, super picky after living in greater DC area for 14 years, having close Vietnamese friends. I’ve yet to find a place that is the same as what DMV(DC/MD/VA) has to offer in ABQ, but Phở 79 is freak-satisfying. My friend and I arrived at around 7pm on a Saturday night, leaving behind the crowd at Uptown Christmas tree lighting only to find the front parking lot full. Well that’s a good sign considering half of ABQ peeps are either in H&M or near the lighted tree. They do have a side lot facing Candelaria. We both picked #8 Phở with welldone steak for our 1st visit. 3.5 stars for the quality of the broth, 5 stars for the portion. 5 stars for the friendliness of the staff as fellow Unilocalers pointed out. The price is very reasonable! On a cold day or night, a bowl of Phở here makes me very happy. I will be back to try their vermicelli bowls.
