This place used to be my favorite until the management change! The food is not fresh and the dessert drinks are watered down. My last visit I got sick and the food smelt rotten! I would not recommend this place.

The food tastes great, but there was smalls bugs(5 of them) floating in my vege phở. I told the waitor, he appologized and told me i did not have to pay for my meal.

I have to say, I’m a Washingtonian, and we’re very picky about our phở. So when I was down visiting my mom and we stumbled across this place, I was skeptical. But their phở is just as good as my favorite back home. The texture of the meat is excellent and the meatballs are perfect. I’m not sure I’m into the spring rolls, but up the the Pacific Northwest, we’re spoiled with fresh seafood, ie: shrimp, which is the only taste I could identify in the roll that I didn’t like. They seem to have a pretty nice Vietnamese crowd in there, which is always a good sign. I will say their portions are GREAT. Their small is the size of my favorite joint’s large.

This was my first time at Phở Saigon and their Phở was great and very taste. I’m so glad of the great variety of Phở restaurants in this city allowing us to compare and taste how these unique dishes are supposed to taste.

First of all. Service was very slow, although there were 3 tables taken with their food already served. We didn’t get a chance to order for quite a while. When ordering all vegetarian, I’m glad that they had a few vegetarian options available, the Phở wasn’t mention to be vegetarian, which I’m pretty used to be now. I ordered it with vegetable broth and with tofu, which went fairly odd, because they asked if I wanted steak or beef when I clearly told them numerous times for tofu instead and«No meat» As for my kid’s order, I just kept it simple. Steamed rice and steamed tofu. What was brought was steamed rice, and fried tofu, My kid dislikes fried tofu or anything fried for that matter. I clearly asked them to replace the fried with steamed. The waitress was confused, she came back a few minutes later to inform me that it WAS steamed. I gave up after a few times of explaining and told my kid that I’d get them steamed when we got home. The waitress then felt guilty and brought over some broth and said that my kid could eat the broth and feel better. I thought that that was very nice of her and that I’d share some of my veggies and let them soak in the broth. Before it was eaten I checked and found out that it was chicken broth! Of course, when you order everything vegetarian and get their Phở with veggie broth that it would be okay to give you chicken broth? I won’t be coming back here again with my kid, that’s for sure. In the meantime, I just need to stay cautious about what’s being served and have a back up plan at all times, because you can never trust anyone, especially when you can’t see in the kitchen.

I’ve lived in many places from Boston to NY to Colorado to Southern California to Las Vegas to New Mexico… so I know good food when I taste it! As far as ABQ, Phở Saigon has consistently the best Vietnamese food with freshest ingredients in town. The Phở is certainly ranked among the top of all the Phở I have ever tasted! The vietnamese sandwiches were delicious… and the authentic signature dishes and hot pots were heavenly. I always walk out with a satisfied stomach and a smile on my face!

Under new ownership! — Looks like what was once a great spot for Phở is no longer. The Phở reminded me of the Gulf of Mexico spill(greasy). The new owners seemed eager to please so maybe they will tweak their recipe and hopefully produce a decent bowl of Phở someday.

My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town!!! I’ve been back several times since the grand re-opening. Though the atmosphere is better than before but it appears that there are still unfinished things here and there from remodeling. The service is fast and friendly. The food… AMAZING!!! Here’s a list of the things I’ve tried so far… Appetizer: I didn’t want to go for the usual spring rolls because they are very common in Vietnamese restaurants. So instead I’ve tried the Banh Khot(mini rice cakes) — The combination of a little crispiness on the outside of the cakes with fresh herbs, shrimps, onions and fish sauce for dipping is just heavenly. WOW! Main dish: Again for the same reason, I have yet to try the Phở. *Combination Dried Noodles(clear noodles) — comes with bbq pork, calamari, and shrimp in a special sauce. These shrimps are the biggest shrimp I’ve seen at any Vietnamese restaurants. It also comes with fresh herbs and a side of broth. It was amazing! This is the only place in town that has these noodles. *Hu Tieu Noodle soup — I came back to try the soup version of the combination dried noodles and it did not disappoint. The broth was very flavorful and was delicious overall. *Banh Xeo(Vietnamese crepes) — This is one of my all time favorite dish. This place does it right! Crispy, right amount of coconut milk where it’s not over powering, shrimp, pork, fresh herbs… YUM! Drinks: *Che Ba Mau(3 color drink) — the best I’ve had in town! In fact one of the very few places that has this. I can’t even describe everything that goes in it, but it’s like a party in my mouth. *Coconut Jelly — the jelly is made with fresh young coconut juice and served right inside the coconut shell. Seems very unique and again, the only place in town that has it. I’m in love with this one!

I’ve been to Phở Saigon several times. I usually go to Phở 1, when I’m in town, but they are closed on Wednesdays. So, my niece and i stopped by to get a quick lunch. Not so quick, but oh so delicious. I got the phở with well done and flank. The broth was particularly delicious today. I could really taste the ginger and star anise. It was dark, which I know is a no-no in Vietnamese cooking, but I don’t care. It was wonderful. My niece got a rice vermicelli bowl with with pork and egg rolls. She ate it up. We shared a spring roll appetizer. They were particularly delicious today. I loved the peanut sauce that is served with it, spiked with some sambal. My niece loves the fresh squeezed lemonade. I tried the soda lemonade today. It was good, but a little sweeter than I thought. I was hoping for something more like a limeade, but I think I’d order it again. HUGE location. There are many tables and lots of space. Even when full, it isn’t too loud. The service is usually good, but today was a little slow. I like the banh xeo here, but I’m used to getting 2 cai for the price that I would pay for one here.

This place is pretty good and is one of the«newer» Vietnamese places in ABQ. I wish it was around when I was living at the Cinnamon Tree apartments 10 years ago, but sadly it was not. I’ve only eaten here once, but I enjoyed the special combination beef phở. The cuts in the combo phở are pretty much the same as any combo phở around so there was nothing surprising about it. I did enjoy the thinner cuts of tripe, I find I can’t really get after a big thick chunk of tripe any more. The broth was pretty and the service was quick and courteous. I will have to go back and try a few more things before I give it any more stars.

OK, I’ve been back again. And again. And again — about 10 times. It gets better and better every time. The thing that always strikes me is how fresh everything is. This is what I’ve tried: Goi Cuon(steamed pork and and shrimp spring rolls — 5 stars Phở Tai(rare beef) — not better than any other, but very good. 5 stars Mi Xao Don Thap Cam(deep fried egg noodles with veg broth and vegetables) My favorite thing ever. They do it as well as Tu Lan in San Francisco and that’s saying a lot — in my opinion. 5 stars. Bun Bo Xao Xa Ot(dry rice noodles with Korean beef) delicious. 4 stars Com Ca Ri Ga(rice and chicken curry) WOW! I had no idea the Vietnamese were curry people. Whatever — because they make this better than I’ve had it ANYWHERE. Amazing. 5 stars So, this place is a gem. Am I some kind of expert on Vietnamese food? Hell no, but I’m becoming an expert on American Vietnamese food especially SEABQ and I know I love it. At my count, there are roughly 20 Vietnamese restaurants in this town(I’ve been to at least half of them) and this one wins. Not to say others aren’t really good — but you know.
