Wendy’s

Not the best Wendy’s I’ve been to, but not the worst. A bit old and worn – hopefully will be one of the locations they renovate.

Food wise, it is a typical Wendy’s. Nothing special. Fresh tasting salads, food made to order. They make their potatoes fresh– that is nice.
I am writing this because of how impressed I am by how the counter girl handled horrible customers and how badly the manager handled it. This was in middle August, I believe, but it’s still bothering me.
I was in for a few potatoes, two salads and a few burgers and fries (lunch for work, it’s not all me, I promise).
I went inside to order, as it was lunchtime and the drive through was packed. I ordered quickly, paid and went to waiting for my food. It took a long time, but it was not the employee’s fault, but a family in the store.
There was a family of six that acting like they were all children– though only one appeared to be under the age of 14.
They would eat half their food, take it back with some complaint and have it remade. One of them ate all the toppings off her salad and walked it back up and demanded a new one, complaining that it was given to her without any toppings (it was not).
Each time, the poor employees went along with it, trying to deliver excellent customer service (which they did).
This kept happened. It had been many minutes. My food was being neglected, at not fault to the store.
I was very impressed with the counter girl, who kept smiling and nodded and doing her best, even when the family would shove people in line out of the way to demand a remake on a perfectly good sandwich.
I would give that girl 5 stars if I could.
The manager of that store, though, instead of taking charge of the moment and helping, sat back and just watched. The manager did nothing. He was right there, wearing a manager tag and just watching. No attempt to actually do anything. As I got my food, he chewed out the girl for making me wait– even though all she was doing was taking orders and trying to deal with a bad situation. I would give him negative stars if I could.
I won’t be going back to this location because of the management.
Sigh. Hopefully, the situation resolved itself, as I was eager to get out of there.
