When it comes to quick dining, there are a handful of truisms. When you’re in a hotel, the club sandwich is always a safe bet. Same goes for a fried egg sandwich at a diner. And if a Chinese carryout offers fried chicken wings and frenchfries, they’re almost always delicious. Stopped by the Little Greasers for a pie(their Hot & Ready was gonna take six minutes) so I hit this place, since I’m not a fan of buffalo wings. Four whole wings with fries will run you around $ 6. These were fried hard and crispy, as they should be, and served with crinkle cut frozen fries which are impossible to screw up. The wings were meaty and coated with a thin batter, sorta like Popeye’s Mild Wings. I prefer little or no batter, but these were pretty good. I’ll still hit Big Panda or Magic Wok in Belle View for wings, but the wings here were tasty and did not make me violently ill!

I live in the neighborhood near China Café. On two occasions I have ordered chicken wings that tasted tainted and old. They were black around the bone also a sign of being old and freezer burned(my husband is a country boy and a chicken connisuer). I requested a refund and was told there was no problem with their chicken. So much for customer satisfaction. Needless to say, that was the last time I ordered from China Café. I now drive across the street to their competition… no problem thusfar.

Very good food, better service. Their soups are great as well. The delivery service is pretty prompt, even at peak hours. The owners — a young couple with a little girl — are always very pleasant. Give’m a try, you’ll be pleased.

Ordered Chinese while staying at fort belvoir! And my husband and I were impressed! The food is great and authentic! They give you your money’s worth. They also give you a good amount of food! Great for takeout

Probably the most authentic Chinese food on Rt 1 between Lorton and the beltway. Its a family run place… the wife is always there and always pleasant. Her husband cooks most of the food and he knows what he’s doing. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. I’ve tried all the others around and keep coming back here. I’ve had takeout from here at least once a week for several years so I’ve tried most of the menu and I’m still a fan.

I’ve finally found our Chinese Takeout Place. We ordered from here tonight, using their handy on-line order feature. The food arrived 40 minutes later and was hot and better tasting than other local Chinese delivery we’ve tried. The egg role was crispy on the outside, not too greasy, and tasted really good and not too mushy on the inside. The sweet and sour chicken was nice white meat, not too greasy, and had tender crisp peppers and onions.(It seems recently I haven’t been able to find sweet and sour with vegetables!) The general Tsao’s chicken was also really good, with lots of spring onions on top and perfectly cooked(i.e. not overcooked) broccoli. It wasn’t the best Chinese I’ve ever had, but it was noticeably better than the other local delivery I’ve tried. Will definitely order from here again.

After recently moving back to the area about 3 months ago, I was really pleased to find this restaurant! I’ve ordered take out from them nine times and each time the meals were hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Each order was packed very well. Never any problems with spilling or splashing. My favorite dishes so far are the Curry Chicken combination platter, General Tso’s Chicken combination platter, hot and sour soup, and their fried crab rangoon. If you call ahead for take out, it generally takes them about 10 – 15 minutes to prepare your order. The staff are all very kind, friendly, and considerate.

This is an update since my last review a year or so ago. The food continues to be consistent and compared to other places in the vicinity of Ft Belvoir, this is still better. Some items could use improvement but most are pretty good. This place has gotten much busier so I wouldn’t recommend delivery. Just hop in your car and get that pizza or chinese food. It will be faster. I made a mistake with the pricing of their lunch specials. Most are $ 6 including tax and you get a good portion size.

This is one of the few places that I am giving one star. I wouldn’t order from China Café if it were the last place on Earth and eating from there would help sustain my life. I’d die cold and hungry but with a smirk of defiance on my face. I ordered from this place because it had«good» reviews on Unilocal and because it was one of the few places open late when my friends and I wanted delivery. I called once before putting in the order to make sure they delivered and gave the person answering the phone my address(several times actually as there was a huge communication gap) but she stated that they did deliver. We called back 10 minutes later(80 minutes before closing time), made the order, paid via credit card, and were told it would be at the house within 30 minutes. Fast forward to nearly 90 minutes later and there’s no food. I call several times to confirm they have the right address(again this is a painfully slow process given she can’t understand me fully) and then she proceeds to tell me that the owner is delivering the food to me himself and they are closed. She hangs up on me. We wait a few minutes more and here is the food. I’m pissed and we’re hungry. The delivery guy tells me he is the owner but when I complain about how long it takes he says he’s not the owner and says«Well you are 7 miles from us.» I ASKEDBEFOREORDERINGIFDELIVERYWASAVAILABLE! He hands me the food and I refuse to tip him. I told him that once I talked to the real owner I would give a tip because waiting 90 minutes for delivery is ridiculous. This is something I have NEVER in my life before done but I was very frustrated and wanted a simple apology for their mistake. We’re all relived to have food but when we look at it, it’s the wrong food. Some is missing and we have items that we didn’t order. When I call again(for the 4th time) they yell at me for asking for a partial refund, assure me that their cashier wrote everything correctly down and that I’m in the wrong. The cashier that couldn’t spell«JANE» street?! Guess the customer isn’t always right! As I proceed to try and explain myself they hang up on me and don’t answer any other calls for the night. For $ 40 worth of Chinese food(that wasn’t even all that great) it was not worth the headache. And they did not charge my card right away, it took two days before it was ever processed which means that my credit card number was WRITTEN down somewhere and not instantly put into a machine. BUYERBEWARE!

A friend and I recently ordered delivery from China Café. Unfortunately, we weren’t very impressed. The egg rolls were decent, but nothing special. The wonton soup was actually quite pleasant. However those were the only highlights of our food. My friend ordered the sesame chicken and while the portions were large, the sauce on the chicken was overly sweet(we were expecting a savory sauce) and there was just too much of it in general. The pork fried rice was okay, but we’ve both had much better. I ordered the beef and broccoli and was deeply disappointed – bland, bland, bland and an overwhelming taste of uncooked flour in the sauce. With so many other Chinese food places in this area that deliver(and those who don’t are within a short drive), I doubt I’ll be giving China Café a second try.

The food here is great, and I didn’t realize that they delivered on base. They have very decent prices compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Since other Chinese places have changed. I have looked for a good one and it seems that this one fits the bill as they are pretty consistent and have good people behind the counter. There is usually no one here, so I usually enjoy my meal in peace and quiet if it’s a regular weekday. I’m assuming that most people get delivery. I just hope this doesn’t go the way the other Chinese places are going. I would recommend this place above all.

Ive been going here for about 3 years now. While they are under new management their food is still quite amazing for chinese fast food. It took me a long time to find decent fried rice(which im picky about) but I finally found it here. It’s dark golden color & invigorating flavor invite my mouth to engulf its goodness faster than I can keep up. Their sweet and sour chicken is not as greasy as other fast food joints, and their delivery to fort Belvoir is super fast. This more of a take-out and delivery place but if you have got to stuff your face that very moment, they do have seating available. Very affordable and addictive flavor. They recently hanged their menu so I miss their burgers, but their chinese fast food has not been beat. the best fried rice EVER!

Growing up in NYC I had the pleasure of eating some of the best mu shu outside of china. This was not. The pancakes were tortillas… yes you read correctly… TORTILLAS. and the mu shu itself was close to flavorless. Aside from that the crab Rangoon was pre fried and then microwaved to temperature before delivery… how do I know? I have been a chef for over 20 years and when you microwave starch, it congeals and gives you that gummy taste… the Rangoon was great on the inside, but chewy and gummy on the outside… go elsewhere
