rude owner, over priced items. nothing spectacular… waste of time.

I first found this store from a CL ad with really good pictures of a dining table. It wasn’t any dining table but a glass, rectangular dining table with an acrylic base from Theodore’s of Georgetown. I had waited a long time since moving into my place to find the«right» table though priced over 1K, it was still considerably less than the original price. Condition was usually noted very accurately as to any imperfections. I came in and was warmly greeted by Kim and Kay. It’s refreshing, they were just the opposite of «pushy» sales people. I asked more about the table, where it came from(previous home) any pets, smokers, and they told me what they knew. They were knowledgeable and helpful with a great eye for design and taste. I have come back many times since for things that I did not even need. Some things looked so good in the store like museum, like collectibles and are timeless and unique. I agree with the comments that certain items do not last long — chandeliers sell quickly. I missed out on one because I took my time and am still kicking myself to this day! They can be get busy with the consignments that constantly come in. Once I got to know the store, the store owners, I am customer for life and a big fan of this place. Others with some negative comments — give it chance if possible at another time. Sure, I’ve walked out empty handed on occasions, but the finds have overweighed it. And no one is perfect 100% of the time I’m sure.

After 6 months of my first review this establishment still going strong. In fact is better, the merchandise is moving very quickly and still the expected high quality or exclusive items. Designers are frequent in this store. No question this place is here to stay. *Please note, my previous review stands to the facts.* Highly recommended 5+*

I’ve been in this shop a few times and always find something I like. The owners here seem to be very selective in the items they consign, and I love the eclectic nature of their inventory. I’ll definitely be back!

I love this store! I purchased items for my daughter’s college apartment and items for my home. It has a little bit of everything. The designer items are amazing and in really great condition. The store is easy to find and the space is huge — you can spend a long time browsing all the merchandise. I have designated Eisenhower Consignment as my «go-to» store when I am in need of fun and interesting pieces for my house!

EC in Alexandria is not what I expected… it like a designer showroom. I have shopped on «One King’s Lane» but this is way more fun. Something for everyone’s taste, I especially liked the little odds and ends room that had fun little treasures to explore. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their pieces and what else is on the market to compare. A great local business that I will be visiting again

I have been several times and always left with something unique I have never seen elsewhere. For those of you who knew Upscale Resale — this place is an improvement on the model. Original artwork, jewelry, and new merchandise ensure there is something for everyone. The manager was very helpful to me and I love the chance to support a local business.

My GPS didn’t take me anywhere near the actual location so I called the store and the person that answered wasn’t much help either. Telling me you’re on Eisenhower Ave in a building near some other buildings near an industrial park isn’t very helpful when Eisenhower Ave is about two miles of industrial park. Here’s a clue, give people some kind of landmark to reference. The store was very small with overpriced items and other stuff that would be more suitable for a thrift store. The employees are rude and very condescending. Overall not very professionally run and feels likes a couple ladies got together to open a consignment shop for fun.

This place is very difficult to find on eisenhower. If you manage to find it you’ll come across very overpriced furnishings and pretentious, arrogant staff members who are not at all welcoming or attentive.

I visited Eisenhower Consignment about a month ago and was very pleased with my visit. They had numerous unique and beautiful pieces as well as some one-of-a-kind items. With some imagination, someone could use some of those pieces as centerpieces for fantastic rooms! I was allowed to browse throughout the shop without being bothered by anyone and was aware that someone was in the back if I had questions. After awhile, I think it was Kim(one of 2 sisters who own the business) who came out and assisted me with questions(I had many). She even dragged out a very heavy extension to a table I was interested in. I didn’t purchase anything that day, but I still may. I don’t necessarily think their prices are overpriced; after all, it is a shop. I imagine one can wait for prices to come down on some things. And, although i don’t know if this is applicable for them, one can always see if one can bargain. I saw some chairs that if I decided to go that way, I might see if that were possible. They are lovely people and quite knowledgeable and seem very conscientious. I would prefer to do business in Alexandria with people like that than some national retailer selling who knows what from who knows where any day of the week!

I contacted EC to sell a large cocktail table that was too big for our space(placed by a decorator). Being too large and heavy to transport by myself, EC put me in touch with a local transport firm that picked up, wrapped, and delivered the item to EC for a reasonable fee. From a pricing perspective, I thought they handled the valuation and pricing professionally. The table was not likely to fly out of the store due to it’s size, so they provided a well thought out pricing strategy that would not price the table out of a prospective buyers budget. Placement was great within the shop, and the table sold in less than three weeks. This was during the span of late February and early March when cold and snow limited buyer traffic. Kim and Kay seem to really love what they do, and are enthusiastic and friendly in their shop. I found prices to be generally reasonable(remember that the consigner can set prices), and although they carry lots of things that don’t fit my personal taste, there are lots of items that do. This is a great place for young adults to find furnishings for apartments and homes at a fair price. If you are only looking for deals, this may not be the right place, but with diligence, you may find some. Keep in mind that the really good stuff may sell the same day that it arrives. Keep an eye on the website(daily) to view the latest additions to inventory.

This place is overpriced and usually has the same inventory for more than six months. Not a place to find great deals.

This is truly a treasure house! Kim & Kay have everything we needed to furnish an entire apartment. Inventory is of high quality, eclectic, and reasonably pricced. The service is personal and extraordinarily helpful, above and beyond any other experience I’ve had. The website is helpful and kept current, will give you an idea and taste of what is available. Check it out, it sold me!
