Went in for the store closing sale. Everything was 20−50% off. Good deals to be found, but terrible customer service! I waited in line far too long, especially for how busy they were(not at all) and how many people were working(more than enough to notice I was waiting a long time). When I finally reached the register, the woman turned her back on me to look up a price or something. The other man who just finished ringing up a customer turned his back on me as well. I can’t believe I waited. I should’ve left but I wanted my candle holders! I got the woman’s attention by saying«I’m about to leave!» She turned around and rang me up without saying a word.

Its been ages since I’ve been in a Pier 1. I remember them fondly when they used to be more World Market less Martha Stewart hipster. So it was with a little trepidation that I popped in here the other day looking for something. So happy that Pier 1 seems to be returning a bit to its roots with some unique and cool items. I ended up spending the better part of ½ hour here just wandering and making note of various items the piqued my interest — including an amazing small buffet that I might end up turning into a console table. The staff was exceptionally friendly: greeting me as soon as I walked in, asking if they could help with anything, and then leaving me be to roam when I said no. They were even kind enough to suggest another store when I did ask about the one item I’d stopped in about and they said it wasn’t something they carried. I live around the corner. I will be back.
