After reading the reviews on here about Finn and Porter, I was pretty nervous to try it while staying here waiting for my furnace to be replaced. But we went for dinner and I was very pleasantly surprised. I read that the service would be terrible, but it was totally fine! Some staff seemed a little green, like they didn’t explain what kind of cheese was on the cheese plate, but our server was polite and attentive. Our water was filled regularly. The only criticism is that they forgot the sauce to my steak and brought croutons with the cheese plate when we asked for them to be left off. We started with the cheese plate which had three huge pieces of cheese(I liked them all) as well as some nuts and a sort of fig and balsamic sauce. Well worth the $ 12. Then I had the ribeye and a side Caesar. I ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I didn’t even miss the sauce that was forgotten. My wife ordered the spinach salad with bacon wrapped dates which was awesome and huge! She also ordered the mussels with white wine sauce, also huge! Everything tasted great. All in all, we got two Woodford Reserve cocktails, cheese plate, mussels, spinach and stuffed dates salad, steak and a Caesar salad for $ 115 with tip. Not too shabby.

This is the definition of a crappy hotel restaurant. The service is abysmal and the food drastically overpriced. This restaurant looks nice from the outside, but stays in business only cause of the location.

Went there with a few coworkers for drinks. Service was slow, beer pours were horrible(only had ¾ of my pint filled up with beer), and the happy hour food was terrible(very small plates of deep fried stuff).

The fiancé and I came here for dinner after checking into the hotel. Right away I was excited because they had a sushi but of course as always being my indecisive self I didn’t know if I wanted sushi or American food. I decided against the sushi and ordered fish chips. We ordered wings to share and he ordered a burger. The prices were a bit expensive but the portions made up for that. The food was delicious, hot and flavorful. We both ordered drinks from the bar but I didn’t really care for the taste of my cocktail. Overall good experience and maybe next time I will try the sushi.

Sushi menu at the bar is not bad at all. You won’t find anything exotic, but it’s simple, and reasonably prepared. But with only 1 sushi chef, it’s a long wait to get anything on a moderately busy night. The problem is service. Oh what atrocious service! Imagine what it would be if a handful of bus boys were pressed to wait on you. It’s slow, unfriendly, and non-engaging. My drink order wasn’t even served until my entrée came out, and only then by the manager after I complained. Tonight, I ordered a 16oz rib eye steak. What came out was a lukewarm piece of what was prime rib at some point, lightly heated to leave grill marks – why didn’t they just offer it as prime rib, rather than try to pass of a gray lukewarm slab of meat as steak? Avoid the steaks, if this is their idea. When I was asked about my meal, I pointed out that this isn’t a medium rare rib eye steak. She offered to have the manager speak to me. 15 minutes later, no one stopped by. Flabbergasted, I flagged my server over to ask what I should do, when she won’t give me my check, and a no-show manager? She finally just told me that it’s on the house and I just walked out. Clearly, they were understaffed and overwhelmed. I’m sticking with sushi next time, and then only because it’s in the hotel I’m staying in.

Worst customer service ever and the messiest tables I’ve ever seen. Buffet is worth it though.

Stayed at the Hilton during the capital dance sport championship and was very pleased with this restaurant! We got food around 10:30 pm and it was awesome! Love the truffle fries! If you’ve never tried them, try them here! The honey BBQ wings and clam chowder were also favs. We also went for breakfast the next morning. Took a while to get seated, but once we did we realized it was because they had one lady working the whole place by herself. Her name was Mercedes and she was an excellent waitress! Extremely helpful and nice! She even asked if they could make crème brûlée for breakfast and they did. It was SOAMAZING!

To keep it short, the food all looked great. The menu has some tasty items and steaks are reasonably priced. Sushi bar was a nice surprise and it tasted great. The overall menu was a bit light for my taste. Good wine selection. The downside: service was atrocious! Waited forever for everything, the waiter, George, couldn’t have cared less. We told him we were freezing from the AC. His response was that we should have known better than to sit under a vent! If I weren’t staying in the hotel, I wouldn’t make a special trip for this one. I’m told it’s the best breakfast place in the area. I’m not sure if I’m willing to try it and it’s a free meal!

Stayed at Hilton Mark Center on a surprise weekend getaway with my hubby. Ready to eat and enjoy but so dissatisfied with our food once it came. I ordered a pork dish and my husband ordered the surf and turf –Cold, no flavor, and fruit flies roaming. We did like our appetizers and drinks. I would not go out my way to come here again.

Only place to eat while at a conference at the hilton. Nothing so far has been stand out. The service is lackluster, the items overpriced and the taste is servicable, but nowhere near the quality you would expect for the price you are paying. Cheeseburger asked for cheddar but was like american and just tasted blah Club sandwhich had bland turkey and a wanna be fancy mayo Ceasar salad came with anchoives in skin on the side… not very appetizing Mac and cheese was notch better than velvetta. Think im going to have to prder delivery from here on

The servers were prompt, attentive, and courteous. The bread was nice and hot and I really enjoyed it. I would have liked sweet-cinnamon butter even more … just a thought. I had the clam chowder and the spinach salad with bacon wrapped dates. Both were tasty but the bacon could have been cooked just a tad bit more. Overall I had a good experience and recommend it, if you’re in the area.

We come here often for work lunches because of its convenient location but the food has me a tad underwhelmed. I usually order the Seared tuna and pineapple salad, which depending on the tuna quality of the day, can be pretty darn good, or leave me with an upset stomach. I once strayed off menu to order the Bison burger medium rare(after observing their overcooking on other occasions) and the burger came back medium well. It was served with extremely bland and boring fries. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you order off menu and don’t do the buffet during lunch, the service is EXTREMELY slow.

Pros: — convenient access inside the hotel. — Wide variety of choices on the menu. — very good calamari(appetizer) Cons: — extremely slow service during lunch due to the lunch buffet(if you order a regular meal, expect to wait a long time for service). — Slow sushi bar. if ordering a combination of sushi and meals. Expect sushi to take twice as long. — not very particular about cleanliness of the restaurant(glasses, behind the booths, etc) –waited along time to get seated on more than one occasion since no one was waiting to greet the guests and seat them

I stayed at the Marks Hilton for over a week so I had many experiences with Finn and Porter. I ate there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The positives: — Friendly, helpful staff — Breakfast is very good whether off the menu or the buffet — Dinner is excellent — the sushi and the steaks were very good — It is conveniently located inside the hotel so if you’re staying there in the winter, you don’t have to leave to face the cold The negatives: — A few of the times I went there it was insanely loud; I couldn’t hear the person I was with over the noise — They’re not very gluten-free friendly — The lunch menu is very overpriced and the food isn’t as good as breakfast and dinner — The wait at lunchtime is insane — by the time I got my food I had to rush to eat it to get back to my conference in time;

Didn’t like the menu… we didn’t feel too comfortable there while we were staying in the hotel for a conference, definitely overpriced! We did try both lunch and dinner and unfortunately bad service as well :(The place wasn’t what I thought it would be for being inside the Hilton, but even the Hilton wasn’t that great either … Overall, just not a good experiences for our stay there. Alcohol was good though! We enjoyed the drinks, white Russians and black Russians!!!

Me and the gang decided to hit this place up for lunch a couple times while here for a conference. We experienced good food and mediocre food, but nothing was ever uneatable. I think everyone’s favorite dish here was the mac and cheese. It was probably the best item on the menu. The flavor was all there. I would recommend it. I ordered from the lunch buffet which included the salad bar, rolls, a meat, two sides, a veggies and dessert. I thought the buffet was the best bet and often times my friends were asking me to slide them some of my food because their order wasn’t as good as they thought it would be. The prices are reasonable and the staff really tried to serve you. I would try the restaurant out, if you are at the hotel.

Service was fast and the food was tasty. Nice romantic setting with the pond as a back drop. Buffet does not have turkey products and when I was here they had French toast. I went with the Virginian eggs Benedict with crab cake. Cakes had good flavor however, I asked if they were lump and told they were. They were not. However no complaints as it was cooked just like I like them. Server with coffee and oj were on us the moment we sat. Thanks. That was smart I needed after a long night bringing in the new year.
