J.C. New & Used Tires

Caught a flat tire on my rear driver side, AND my spare tire was flat too, so I’d been playing with fire/​being lazy for a while haha. Got towed here this morning and I was in and out in 20 minutes! 2 used tires for only $ 65 each. On top of that, they fixed the panel on my passenger side door too! Definitely coming here for all of my tire needs from now on!

Had been getting air pressure warnings on my tires for weeks and decided to have the right two tires checked out, one had a rip on the outer tread. Calling ahead on a Saturday afternoon after another place was too busy, they said I could swing by in a half hour. On arrival, they got right to it and quickly checked both tires for leaks. Fortunately, both tires were ok, so it may be the car’s pressure warning indicator. With the rip in the back right tire, they could have easily tried to sell me a new one, but instead were honest and said it was ok, cosmetic damage (my words). And for this, they only charged me 10 bucks. I did a double take on the fee and offered more, but he stuck to it. Would definitely go back!

Never again. I’ve been using their services for about a year now. First few times everything was great. After that an old employee put the jack on the wrong place and cracked my paint, he was really concerned and nice and I decided to not make a problem about it instead I touch painted it. The next time I went there for a leaking tire and the guy who fix it scratched my rim very bad. I saw it when I got home and decided to drive back to the shop. The manager, who I think is also the owner was very rude and tried to convince me this is normal because of the machine, he started yelling and arguing. Terrible customer service and terrible service at all. Don t go there.

I replaced the two front tire three month ago. They did really good and gave me good price! Today the tire pressure light is on in my car. They helped me inflate all of the tires and it’s free! I really recommend this shop!

My husband’s whole family was visiting and we were going to caravan up to the Udvar Hazy Center to show all the kids around the Air and Space Annex. Then we realized my father in law’s tire was going flat. I figured that was it – we’d have to change our plans and the day was a wash… I looked on Unilocal and found J.C. just around the corner. We pulled in and they found a nail, pulled it out and patched it in 20 minutes. No change in plans at all — it was perfect!
He’s been driving on it for over a year now with no issues, and we have great memories of our visit to Udvar Hazy, too!

Walter is one of the nicest people i have ever met. He was done in 20mins and told me if i have any problems to call him. I even got a discount and we talked for a while. That is one humble, down to earth dude.

I went to this tire shop with a flat. They told me that I could either order four new tires, and they quoted me a price for no name tires that was 20% higher than goodyer’s or Michelins, or they happened to have a used one in stock for $ 75. I have all wheel drive, so I needed the treads to match. They said it matched. I asked if they measured it. They said they could see it matched. I asked if they have the tool tire places uses to measure tread depth. They said they didn’t. Really? You repair and sell tires, and you don’t have the 2 dollar tool to measure tread depth? I also asked about the provenance of the tire, they had no idea. I’m wary of buying used tires, but I might have bought the used one as a temporary measure until I could order what I needed, but, again, no tool to measure tread depth?
I would up ordering a new tire from Tire Rack, another tire place nearby kindly measured the tires for me, they were all ⁷⁄₃₂ or 8/​32s, I could have «gotten away» with a regular new tire, but Tire Rack was able to shave the tire down to 8/​32s for a better match.
Anyway, between the fact that the no-​name tires were more expensive here than brand names elsewhere, and their lack of a basic tire shop tool, I was distinctly unimpressed.

I checked Unilocal review and decided to go there.
I wanted them to fix a flat tire with a nail. A staff said,”$ 10 or $ 25. 10 minutes.” When I researched their price for a flat tire on internet, I figured out they might charge free to $ 20. I asked hime, «Not $ 20?» and he said «No.» It was a newer tire. So I chose a better way.
In their office a few people were waiting for their flat tires. It seems all workers and customers are from South America besides me. One lady’s car was done. An employer or employee charged her $ 20. Next my turn. He charged me $ 20 first. And an employee came in and he said «$ 25.» So I think it really suspicious now…

This place is amazing! Really and truly. I’ve been to these guys twice (2014 & 2015 for two different tires), and I only wish I could give these guys 6 stars. Seriously.
There’s an old saying about how you can only get two of three: good, fast, or cheap — that’s usually true — but these guys have managed to be good, fast AND cheap. Twice. (It wasn’t because of an unfixed problem: it was two different cars.)
There are so many mediocre places in the world that I really had to write a review.

Let me start by 1^st saying that I believe in supporting small businesses in the community. This is what led me to this tire place when I needed to purchase 4 new tires. However, after my experience I would never again support this store. I purchased the 4 new tires in March of 2014 and was given a warranty for 50,000 miles. What they don’t tell u upfront is that you will practically have to argue with them to redeem the 50,000 mile guarantee should u have an issue with the tire. While driving, one of the tires blew out on 395. When I took the tire back to the shop I was told that it was basically my fault the tire blew out. After disagreeing and showing very visibly my disappointment, the worker agreed to replace the tire. Fast forward a few months, still within the 50,000 mile warranty when I discovered an air bubble in the tire. I I went back to resolve the issue and was told that it was not possible and that the warranty does not cover this. So I would never go back to this tire place. When selling the tires they should’ve made it clear that the warranty only covers one tire.

He did a great job with the nail removal. No scratches on the rim and got out in 20 minutes. Charged me $ 25 and I gave him $ 5 for the great job.

Landed at DCA and made my way to my car (brand new, less than 400 miles on it & very pricey tires) — just outside the garage, I realized I had a flat. I pulled over, checked it, and found a huge screw buried in the tread. After getting an ETA of 120+ minutes on roadside assistance, I threw on the spare myself and found J.C. New & Used Tires — very nearby — on Unilocal.
The reviews do not lie. I drove up, got a very reasonable quote, and 20 minutes later I was patched and ready to roll. Walter is great. I’m coming here for anything tire-​related from here on out.

My car had a flat tire thanks to 2 nails. So after replacing the tire with a donut tire I was not sure if I could find a repair shop on a Sunday and that’s when Unilocal came to the rescue. I got to J. C near closing time. Walter and his crew were quick and efficient and I was out the door in about 15 minutes.
Speaking to Walter I have learned that they have had this location for 3 years and have been in business in other locations for about 17 years. FYI– J. C is located right across Target on Jefferson Davis Hwy. I made the mistake initially of pulling into another tire repair shop called Just Tires which is only a couple of blocks away.

I’m not going to bother writing a lengthy review – it’s clear that this place is a cut above from everyone else’s supportive reviews. Long story short is that I had a nail puncture in my tire. I called on a Saturday morning and was told they could take it as soon as I got there. I pulled up, pointed out the nail, and within 5 minutes the car was up on a jack and the tire removed. 20 minutes and $ 25 later the tire was back on (plugged) and I was on my way. Staff was friendly and efficient, and there’s not too much more I can ask for.

This is the only place I go for tire repair. Honest, fast, fair prices and good service. I got a plug today and it cost me 10 bucks I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. You can’t beat that anywhere.

After noticing a nail lodged in one of my tires, I needed to find a place that could do a quick repair since I had plans to travel later in the week. After reading the reviews of J.C.‘s on Unilocal and seeing that they were open on Sundays, I decided to head over without calling to see what they could do. When I pulled in I noticed that they were very busy– I didn’t really have a place to park other than to double park in the tiny parking lot. I also noticed that there weren’t any real bays where work was being done, or a real waiting/​check-​in area. After stepping out of my car, I was approached within a few seconds by Walter. After telling him about my tire, he apologized and said that he was very busy and didn’t have many people working but that he could get me taken care of if I could wait 20 – 25 minutes. I agreed, considering that is an amazing wait time compared to most other places. It was about 20 minutes before they were able to help me and they immediately got to work on my tire. After locating the nail, I was asked whether I wanted to patch or plug it, and was quoted $ 20 to patch it. After 10 minutes or so they came back and told me that the nail didn’t cross and that the tire wasn’t loosing any air, but they took the nail out for me. I asked Walter if I owed them anything, and he shrugged and said that if I wanted to give the guys something I could, whether it be $ 1, $ 2, $ 3…lol. I offered to tip $ 10 for the work that was done, but the guy who worked on my tire refused and said I didn’t have to. I insisted but he again refused. I was on my way after only a 40 minute total wait.
This is by far the best repair place I’ve ever been to. Most places either aren’t open on Sundays, will expect you to make an appointment, and will charge you an arm and a leg for the simplest things… but here I was in and out, wasn’t sold on anything unnecessary, and received great service. I will definitely be back when I need any other work done to my tires!

This place is fantastic — honest and excellent customer service. My friend’s tire was losing air due to a bent rim. J.C.‘s didn’t have the rims (they were specialized) and it would have taken a couple days to order them (same as elsewhere), but my friend needed a fix ASAP. So even though J.C.‘s didn’t have anything that we could buy, and he had several other waiting customers, he took time to pull the tire off and seal it so that it would be okay to drive on for the amount of time needed.
And when it was done, we wanted to pay him and he at first said no. Then when we insisted he finally agreed to $ 10, which was so very low given how much time he provided for someone who really had nothing to purchase.
The entire process was very impressive and the epitome of honest and fantastic customer service. If I ever need tires, this is where I’m going. And I am recommending J.C.‘s to all my friends.

I did my research, knew which tires I wanted and how much it cost, and came here. He suggested the very tire I was looking at, and even though it was $ 20 more expensive than the Walmart ties (plus installation), I said yes.
1 day later, my ties are in (and he waived the pre-​payment fee), I have them all installed for $ 450, after asking him what he’d give me for the brand new front tires the dealership gave me (Not an especially good brand) I walked out with 4 Nexon 5000’s for $ 380.
Took about 35 minutes to install. I’m very satisfied and will come here for future purchases.
Just don’t expect the red carpet treatment! They’ve got work to do!
