Marino’s Pizza and Subs

We order from here to the office several times a month. Thy have by far the best Philly cheesesteaks in the area and their seasoned fries are money!!! Delivery is also super fast. I don’t think I have ever waited more than 20 minutes! The food is always piping hot which is great because sometimes I can’t run to eat right away. I’ve ordered a few other things from the menu but for real… The cheesesteak. So good. So so good.

I remember Marinos from the late 1970s-​80s in Maryland. And I had not been back there since, so I wanted to try them out. The pizza is not quite like I remembered, but it was still quite good. I was there at lunch and got a two-​piece special and a medium drink for $ 6.99. The special comes with one topping on the pizza, I got pepperoni. A man who appeared to be the manager added some pepperoni and additional cheese to my two slices and put them in the oven for about five minutes to warm up. When he pulled him from the oven, and put them in the box, I saw how huge they are! These are easily three or four regular slices. It is Sicilian style and very doughy. The dough was light and airy and had a nice flavor. The sauce I also thought it was tasty, and the toppings — provolone cheese, pepperoni, shredded Parmesan, a little garlic — were nice. I can’t say it was the best pizza ever, but I really think it’s much better than some of the other reviews might lead you to believe. The customer service was not overly friendly or chatty, but it was adequate. They seem to be doing a good lunchtime business. But it did not seem like anyone had to wait long. It’s not gourmet, but it’s not supposed to be. I would definitely go back.

So my girlfriend and I live close and have been meaning to try this place for a while. Well when we finally did we were extremely disappointed.
The pizza was advertised as New York style but was actually Sicilian. The flavor was plain and the toppings were boring.
The salad was basically a bag of Dole thrown in a styrofoam box.
It was delivered late and was already cold by the time we opened the box.
I’m writing this shortly after eating and my stomach is feeling a little upset.
We most certainly won’t order here again.

I STRONGLY suggest ANYONE thinking about eating here DO NOT. I SPECIFICALLY AM telling you DO NOT EVER USE A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD. AS THESE PEOPLE STEAL! I couldn’t believe after I purchased a greasy, processed,&crappy ingredients pizza that after I used my card and signed for it that the delivery man forge a $ 50 tip! I gave the delivery guy a cash tip&he forge a ridiculous amount of $ 50.I felt completely robbed without him using a gun. I went up to the store informed them of the situation&requested to speak with the manager. THESE workers were very impatient and rude. They treated me like I was nothing and they werent interested at all in returning my money that was stolen. They lied and said they had no way to contact a manager and then another worker raised his voice at me several times as I was explaining I’m a victim and I shouldn’t have to be in the shop trying to get my money back through obstacles. I couldn’t believe this. It wasn’t until I threaten to call the police and actually had dispatch on speaker phone that these former convicts actually helped me, looked up the transaction and refunded it. 40min I was in that shop WITH A RECEIPT SHOWING THEY ROBBED ME. WORSE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. THEY TREATED ME LIKE I WAS CRAP FOR NOT ACCEPTING WHAT THEY DID TO ME. HOW THEY ALL TREATED ME& THERE REACTIONS THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT THERE FIRST TIME DOING THIS TO PPL. BEWARE THIS PLACE, THE FOOD &THE WORKERS r both VERY SHADY. WORSE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD I never thought would happen at a damn pizza shop

This place is a big joke! I ordered my pizza online. It took my credit card not once but twice, then it gave me a gateway error. Unsure if my order went thru I checked my card and I was charged twice. I called Marino’s and they said their website uses a third party to pay for pizza’s and I had to call the third party to get my money back. The worst part is they never even received my order. How can a company accept payment on their website and then send the customer to another website to get their money back. Oh they did give me a phone number to call (yeah right!) American express dealt with it. I say stay away!

Ordered pizza at 1:20am with estimated delivery before 2:20am. Called at 2:45am and they said it was on the way after talking to 3 people. It’s not 3:36am and I don’t have the pizza. I’ve basically given up. Don’t take orders that you can’t fill!!!

Large size slices. however Emilios school pizza quality… must find better pizza in the area.

I wanted to try a bit of everything so I ordered the Philly, seasoned fries, and wings. It all looked and tasted like something you would get out of the frozen food section. Definitely not worth the money.

About a 2 – 2.5: I’ve been meaning to try out Marino’s Pizza and Subs for quite some time, as I always pass this little unassuming carry-​out when driving on Route 1. They offer salads, wings, pasta, pizza, hot/​cold subs, and pastas. I tried their Chicken Wings (you have an option for spicy or mild, so I opted for spicy; it comes with a little container of ranch or bleu cheese; these were just alright — they were extra crispy, which I appreciated, but it had a sweeter taste to it that I wasn’t a fan of; in addition, the bleu cheese was a weird concoction, and tasted kind of gloopy); a slice of pepperoni pizza; a slice of spicy sausage pizza (I liked that they had pizza-​by-​the-​slice; however, the pizza was a pan-​style and more doughy, less sauce, bland, and not generous with the toppings); and, an 8″ of the Marino’s Famous Steak and Cheese Sub (the meat was underseasoned and there was hardly any cheese in it; now, I don’t mind grease at all, but this had the ‘dirty’ grease, as the dark liquid was just dripping out of the sub: O The fries were tasty, as they were nice and crispy, and came with combo meals. Service here was super friendly and nice, and there is some counter space where you can stand and chow down. They also have some patio seating by the parking lot. I’m glad I was able to try this place out, but not sure if I’d go back.

Do yourself a favor and do NOT order after 6pm! Night shift staff is extremely less professional and less accommodating than day shift. They’ve also made mistakes numerous times on orders– due to their behavior I wouldn’t be surprised if they spat in your food!

Philly Steak is really nice. The pizza is good but the hot subs are a better choice. Marino’s is always good. The prices are a bit steep but the food quality is always good. I’d stick with the subs

Too greasy, not worth the money that you pay.
These people are very cheap for a small business, I asked for a large cup of sprite with light ice and they filled it to the tippy top with ice. Never spending my money in this place again… smh

Omg… I’m speechless. When you thought there weren’t anymore places that had fresh ingredients, and you found one. I had to share. Had the calzone and I shared a steak and cheese. Their bread was amazing meat was so fresh and not fatty. The bread to meat ratio was PERFECT. Melted in my mouth. Definitely making this a weekly routine for cheat day!

Pizza was 30 minutes late and had to be put in the oven again to hear it up. Sub par taste and pretty greasy.

Went to pick up the food they were using for standards for serving. The place was dirty. It was a bad experience I hope the health department wakes up and visit them soon. I used two and three pizza and sub shops and I’m not in the business anymore but I was outraged with the way they handled the food. I used to be a fan of this place but clearly there has to be changes before I’ll ever return.

I was a fan of this place food usually arrived hot and fresh but recently I ordered and it took 2 hours. I sent it back and it took another hour to get the food which also arrived cold … stupid me for thinking the second delivery would be any better. Do bettee with customer service and offer something for pputiing people out. Won’t be spending my money here again.

I wish I didn’t have to give a star to leave a review. This place is definitely unworthy of it. The owner of this place is a complete jerk. He made my experience very uncomfortable and unpleasant. I was very displeased with his horrible customer service and how difficult he made it for me to change the type of cheese I wanted on my cheese fries. And even yelled at his employee for doing it for me. WTF, it’s not like I’m not paying for it. If I wasn’t starving && didn’t feel bad for the girl who made them. I would’ve totally just walked out!

I think that the reviews of this place vary depending on whether the reviewer has had the pizza or the subs. Because there is a *big* difference in the quality of those two dishes.
If you get the pizza, you are going to get a square of tough dough, topped with bland tomato sauce and shredded provolone cheese (!). While it is not terrible, it isn’t that good either and is better used as late-​night drunk food.
However, their subs (especially their hot subs) are very good. This place has been serving fresh-​grilled hot subs (and cold subs) since the late 1950’s, so they are obviously doing something right. And your best bet is the steak and cheese, with your choice of toppings in it.
If you really want to kick it up a notch, then get their ham, steak and cheese. And if you want the ultimate hot sub, then get their ham, steak and egg sub (with cheese). It’s a fantastic combination of ingredients and will keep you full (and thirsty) for hours!
The large-​size sub is a better value if you want to make two meals out of it.

This is a nice place if you want to grab a quick bite of pizza. It’s really inexpensive, but your also not eating gourmet pizza. They have lunch deals that are great for the price. The owner is really friendly. I accidentally arrived close to closing time and they were nice enough to stay open to cook me a quick pizza. I didn’t know what time they closed until I got there. Like I said, not gourmet but good for the price. Service was pretty good. Really nice people.

Marino’s is a quality pizza and subs place, it is good but not great.
Place is really small, right across from Potomac Yards shopping complex. They even have a little outside patio area if you feel the need to eat your food on the premises, I’d suggest you carry out.
The staff was friendly, there were only two people working, the cook and the delivery guy but both did their jobs well.
Food was just okay, I had a 8 inch steak and cheese, with tomatoes, mayo and of course steak and cheese. I’m unsure of the cheese as I didn’t get a good grasp of the taste or notice the cheese while eating. Steak appears to be the steakums variety, those thin sheets but the taste was good.
Also had a slice of pepperoni, their slices are square not triangular like most pizza places, the portion size is huge unfortunately pizza is just okay, a little too doughy for my taste.
This place will definitely do if you like generic carry out subs and pizza but not worth a special trip.
