Shane’s Rib Shack

The customer service is horrible! I had a small complaint about my order because the cook made a mistake and messed up my entire order (which happens) but when i politely asked the manager if he could fix my order he argued with me about it for ten minutes and after realising he was wrong by checking the computer ticket he reluctantly fixed the problem with no apology of any kind. Also i recently drove over 30 miles to their location to only find out they were closed and the hours stated on the website and google maps is wrong. I called and the manager the next day and he did not seem to care about that either. I will not be going back again.

$ 10 for a grilled chicken salad that consists of old cucumbers and cheap tasteless shredded cheese. The chicken is hardly seasoned and they top it with a dry piece of toasted white bread. I’ve gotten better quality from a fast food restaurant. Very disappointed and I will not be back

GOOD.GOD. Those ribs were good. Your in for a treat. Being that this review is a little on the short side, I will discuss the green beans. THEY ARE LIKE VEGETABLE CRACK.

The service came out fast, if you’re hungry and in a rush this is the place to go, the meals are huge and cheap, the manager came over to ask if everything was right, I really liked this place, super clean and great atmosphere.

Shane’s is good for what it is. Service is fast and friendly. Their ribs are pretty good and the chicken fingers great and they have some good flavors too.

Maybe they were having an off day but my sandwich was pretty bad. I got the Big Daddy and about the only thing redeeming about it was the BBQ sauce that came with it. The meat just didn’t have any flavor to it at all. My side of cole slaw reminded me of the kind they serve at KFC. I lived in NC for 3 years so maybe I had too high of expectations but in any case I won’t be back.

Shane’s gets a solid three stars from me. Does BBQ get better? Oh yeah, it does. Did it fit the bill nicely enough? Oh yeah, it did! Does the meal match the price in terms of value? Not so much.
Almost $ 20 for their sampler + beverage — three short ribs, about ²⁄₃ a cup of pork bbq, two chicken tenders, two sides and a slice of (toasted on one side) bread. I wanted the sampler so I could sample and I was happy enough. It really was just a little underwhelming. The bbq is good, but not great. The chicken tenders were awesome, though. The ribs hit the spot.
The location is very easily accessible and this shopping center is where its at on Richmond Hwy! I liked the restaurant interior as well. I was able to set up shop with my books and notes, so I was happy. Service was a little above average as well. Not only do they bring your food out to your table when it is ready, but they also check on you several times to make sure you have everything you need. Kudos, there!

The ribs were moist and meaty. We got the smoked wings and they were cooked to perfection. The barbecue sauce is very good and the service was really good too. Will definitely return !

Walked in and walked out. Ive eaten here before but the menu is a bit conplicated (well for me it is)… i looked around the menu even stating that i wasnt sure how to order… the guy just looked at me like i had 14 heads… there was only one other customer in the store, perhaps he used up all is niceties for the day… be kind people… be helpful and leave your 14 head syndrome at home!!!

Nooooooope! Fried okra, Mac and cheese, two meat plate, and bbq chicken all quite bland. The sauces did nothing for them. I should have skipped lunch altogether rather than ate here. Not cheap either. Should have guessed the way they advertised salads on the window.

Shane’s is a good idea executed poorly. The prices are wildly expensive for what you get. The pulled pork is fairly flavorless and greasy. When placing an order, it appears to be an inconvenience to the guy at the register. On the plus side: the French fries are crispy and hot and the drink refills are free.
With a bit more attention by caring management and a quality check Shane’s could be much better. But it’s the prices that really hurt the establishment.

My husband and I come here every weekend! Love this place. My husband and I always end up getting the chicken tenders/​boneless wings and the okra and sweet potato fries are awesome!

This place was horrible! All the food taste like it had been there for longer than 2 days. I hope we don’t get sick. The peach cobbler looked like it was not cooked all the way. Never have a seen a white crust rather than a golden looking crust. The worst cobbler I have ever had. The only thing good was the fried okra eventhough it was a bit soggy. Will not be going back there again.

Great selection of sauces. Ribs and chicken good to go. Love the beans! always make it a point to stop by when I’m in town.

So, I’m usually super-​nice with Unilocal reviews (which is why Unilocal immediately filters them out). Finally, though, a bad enough experience that I wanted to say something about it.
The two staff people I interacted with at Shane’s were nice, but here are some problems:
— I wanted a meal that was shown in a poster. When I asked for the greens as a side it was totally unclear that they didn’t offer that. Why have a picture of something if it’s not on your menu?
— The way the cash register rung up my choice of sides was super-​confusing. Two sides were included in my meal, but when the cashier punched them in it came up as more. For instance, I wanted to get the sweet potato fries, which the menu board said was $ 1 extra. Fine, but when it got rung up the cash register said it was $ 3.75. I think I rattled the counter guy, but when I pointed that out he didn’t have a very clear explanation. The total turned out to be what I expected but that’s the craziest way of adding meal elements I’ve ever seen.
— When our food came out, there were no utensils included, even though we were obviously eating in.
— My quarter chicken was the smallest chicken quarter I have seen in my life!
— The food was definitely over-​priced, in my opinion, and that’s before I knew about all the problems with the meal.
I know times are tough and the management and workers are probably doing the best they can. I couldn’t help thinking, though, that they are cutting some corners that really lessen the guest experience.

I’ll give this place a strong FOUR. The mac n cheese seemed fresh out the microwave and the coleslaw was just bland and seemed Pre packed.
I had the half rack of ribs and it was just too stiff for my taste. Will not be returning. Décor is nice… food is a letdown.

Military discount! Extra star for that to start.
While it is a rib place by the name– go for the burger. I had a FANTASTIC cheeseburger here, and I’m a burger guy. Better than Red Robin’s «gourmet» burgers by far,
The teas are very good, and while I’ve never been fond of flavored tea, I make an exception for the peach tea here at Shane’s. Sweet goodness– and free refills.
There is seating inside or out, and I take my family here often. I like the fries, the slaw is different than I usually like, but it’s slaw, so take it for what it’s worth.
I read a few reviews about bad or undercooked chicken here but I have had very good chicken each time here. I’ll have it again too, if I ever get tired of the burger (which I don’t see happening soon).

This place should have a better rating overall than it does. I feel like people are giving way way to much credit to Famous Dave’s down the road which is NOT good. This is a great little Southern franchise that fits the bill when you are craving a little BBQ. I would suggest the ribs as the best item. The ribs are flavorful and tender which is a must for me, a lot of ribs are just gross and I won’t eat them. The sides are all very lacking, I have not really found any that hit the spot.
This is not a straight out Awesome BBQ joint and living in TX and GA I am pretty picky and have had some of the best BBQ in the world. But for what it is, it is some of the best I have found around here.

This is a stable for me. When I want quick ribs for a decent price, I come to Shane’s. On my last visit the ribs were so tender and had lots of meat. The potato salad and baked beans are my favorite sides.
Many people are very critical of BBQ. While this place is not the best BBQ in town, it is a decent alternative.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Their grilled wings are so so good. Try them.

I had a sampler and it was ok. I know some people love this place. I’m a little picky when it comes to ribs. Have the ones I make myself aren’t to my satisfaction. The point is that I’m hard to please when it comes to ribs.
The service is good. The people are friendly.
