I had high hopes for this restaurant. I decided to get the groupon to try a French place close to where I live. Please dont order the sandwiches here. The sandwiches(chicken and lamb) were dry with nothing buy shaved meat inside a croissant with no dressing. It was disappointing to pay $ 9 for it as a McDonald’s burger is much tastier and cheaper. It felt like I was paying for the bread more than the food. They mixed up my orders. The person serving was really kind and friendly. Other than that, there is nothing good about this place. Yes, we ordered crème brule and it was just average. The peach melba felt like a peach out of a can.

Always a great meal. The food is reliably good, super friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. We love going there.

My husband & I tried this place a few months ago with a Groupon/Amazon deal just to try it out. We have been back least several times, even with friends & family from out of town. Great food & wine selection & crème brûlée is the best!

Yves Bistro is one of my favorites. I have never ever had a bad meal here. Everything is cooked fresh! My faves are the curry lamb stew and spicy lamb when it is on the menu. I gave it 4 stars which is really good because any place can always improve somewhere; however, this place is a must try. You won’t regret it.

This review is for breakfast. Excellent stuff! Great portions, great prices, great French style. French toast is phenomenal. They make it with a thick baguette, and it’s so tender that the inside is basically custard. Sprinkled with sugar, it doesn’t even need syrup! Omelettes are great, with good ingredients. Cheese is especially good. The quiche is quite good, very good for splitting. Croque Monsieur/Madame is tasty, definitely recommend trying it. Also, they’ll sub out fruit for the side of potatoes if you want to.

This little French bistro is hidden in a strip mall. Nevertheless, it was surprisingly charming inside and the French music playing lightly in the background further helped the ambiance. The service was also a big plus. We ordered the Duck Leg Confit, Quiche Loraine, and Leg of Lamb Sandwich. To drink, we ordered the Champagne with Crème de Cassis cocktail. All of the food was good, but the only dish that I thought was great was the quiche, which was jam packed with ham. To be fair, I’ve never been a fan of duck, and my girlfriend did really enjoy it. The drink was pretty boring and not worth the price in my opinion. Yves’ probably deserves 3.5 stars, but I’ll bump up to 4 stars because my girlfriend loved it so much. Seriously, she was heartbroken when I tried to rate it a 3. *Note that, as of mid-April 2016, there is a Groupon($ 20 for $ 11).

Had lunch here. I had the spinach quiche which felt like it was made a week ago and reheated for me. The side salad that came with it was fresh and really good.

Really great place! Kind of a hidden gem. It’s hard to find a brunch place inside the beltway. No wait. They waitress was such a sweet heart! Really nice, friendly, and did not even charge a buddy who came late and just drank coffee. The brunch deal of $ 17 for mimosa, other drink(coffee, OJ etc). Entrée and dessert. GREATDEAL! I got the poached eggs on smoked salmon. The poached eggs were perfect!(If you know how places prep eggs for Sunday brunch. There is a large possibility it will be over done. Since it was a little slow, the waitress encouraged us to stick around and take our time. Looks like I found my new brunch spot. Coffee was good also.

Sunday 3⁄6. First time since Yves passed in Sept 2015. Sad to say things were not the same at all. Don’t know if new Mgmt but Spanish music playing loudly — server said the staff likes it. «Are you still a French bistro? «I’m Venezuelan». Service was slow uninspired 26 minutes after our soup was finished the next course finally was served. Last time we tried using Groupon, Ms Asian mgr said please just tell us next time and we’ll give you same deal-Groupon charges us too much. You listening Groupon? Betcha luv that! Back counters were a mess with cleaning liquids on counters where food is prepped, generally unkempt Too bad we had liked it previous visits.

Thrilled to have had a Groupon. Otherwise might never have discovered this wonderful French«Jewel.» There was even parking available! How rare is that in Alexandria? Their seafood linguine was one of the best I’ve had. Amazingly cozy and delightful restaurant w/a lovely woman server! A genuine 5 *s!

I had the shrimp salad on a croissant and the chocolate mousse. The food tasted great. Since I came by between normal meal times, there were very few people there. The waiting staff was kind and attentive.

While visiting a friend I wanted brunch, but didn’t want to venture too far and Yves’ Bistro came up on my Unilocal app as being close by. The reviews on Unilocal were mixed but we decided to give it a shot based on proximity. The place is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but that is ok. We had no problems getting a table on a Sunday mid-morning. I ordered coffee, juice and eggs benedict. The juice came out first, and the coffee was a little bit longer to arrive than I would have liked, but I enjoyed it when it did come out. The benedict was ok, but not the best rendition I have had. I thought the eggs were slightly over cooked, and overall the dish was a little meh, as were the side of potatoes. Besides being a little slow initially, service was pretty good. We never had to wait long for refills or getting our checks. Yves’ Bistro is a nice quiet quaint French Bistro, and convenient off of Eisenhower Ave. It’s not a place I would drive any distance to, but if you are in the area, an adequate place for brunch based on my recent experience.

Amazing. The sale, the dressing, the pâté, the beef bourgionnone. I mean, damn. I was so impressed. And if you use rolls as a gauge for how good a restaurant is, the rolls were fantastic. Now, while the décor could use updating, that doesn’t affect my review at all– that food could make up for anything. And I saw some reviewers had issues with service, but in Nov 2015 our service was great. Fast and friendly. In a nondescript shopping center, a Parisian gem.

Love that this place is right outside my building, I get breakfast there a few times a week. Breakfast special– croissant with sausage egg and cheese and hash browns, always delicious.

The food is 4 stars with nice presentation and taste. The place is tired and the staff just doesn’t care and just goes through the motions. Décor is dated and in bad condition with patches on the booth seating and the tables need to be sanded and re-stained. Supplies are stored in the dining room on the floor etc. The Asian lady and man(bar tender), who almost fell asleep standing up leaning on the counter, never acknowledged or greeted guest with a smile. The staff was eating their meals at 9:30pm in the dining room along with the chef. Weird. It’s just sad to see a restaurant that has potential being run like this. On a bright note our waiter, and older French man, seemed to care but has no leadership or example to run on. Either do it right or get out of the business.

We purchased a groupon and wanted to try this place. We went on a weekday so there were only a handful of tables. I got super excited when I saw that they had a duck dish! Unfortunately it tastes as bad as it looks. The brest section was ok but the leg was so dry it was hard to swallow. The snail appetizer did not impress me either. My husband’s curry dish was equally bad. We will not be returning.

Old school French bistro. What they lack in finesse they make up for in cheese. It’s more like an American idea of French food than anything authentic. For a recent lunch I got the french onion soup. Nice and cheesy with a thick crusty layer of bread on top. This was followed by a quiche lorraine. The quiche wasn’t what I was expecting from a French Bistro where it’s usually tall, rich and creamy with a flakey crust. This was flat and more like an American quiche. Lots of cheese. Balanced out by a barely dressed side salad. The soup was better. Service was pretty slow.

The food is 4 stars. I usually order lobster, mussels and brunch(French toast, eggs, turkey sausage etc.). They have a nice wine selection and plenty of parking. It’s located across from a movie theatre. The service –slow and unfriendly. I do not appreciated being yelled at by the wait staff(middle aged waitress) for seating myself at a booth I was told I could have. She served an older couple before my party, even after they clearly came in at least 10 mins after us. She is not built for food services. Very unpleasant experience.
