My husband and I went fishing with Scott at RV Charters and had an absolute BLAST! I had never fished in Lake Michigan before, and it was truly like going out on the ocean. Our boat was about 40′ and handled waves like a champ. Scott was hilarious and incredibly patient with us novices. I felt very comfortable with him and confident in his abilities to deliver what we wanted — FISH!
We caught a TON of salmon in Lake Michigan, learned how to best reel them in, then he even taught us how to fillet and cook ‘em up deliciously. I had never actually caught fish that big before, so it was a real treat and provided the «it was THIS big» photo opp I’ve always wanted.
Algoma is an adorably quintessential small town, a very relaxing and quiet get-​away from the everyday stresses of Chicago. After an early morning of incredible fishing, we ate a breakfast of champions at a nearby restaurant (walking distance from the dock and condo) where one plate of pancakes, bacon and eggs could have fed four for under $ 6. We spent our afternoon wine tasting at the local Von Stiehl Winery (also walking distance) and even visited the local Piggly Wiggly to get veggies to compliment our fish dinner (I hadn’t known this grocery store chain actually existed outside of movies). We finished off our day drinking a local brew in a nearby pub. A perfect end to a perfect day. I definitely recommend a fishing trip in Algoma with RV Charters.
