Anyone know what has happened to Terra? Me and the wife went there on Saturday night 1÷8÷11 and the place appears to be closed with no note on the entrance, no lights, no nothing. It will be a big disappointment if they are no longer in business!

I love Terra. I feel like it’s one of kind in this area. Allen doesn’t seem to have any other restaurant that serves this type of food. Service is always good and the portions are very large. Usually when I go, I split a few small items with who I’m with(rice, lentil soup, hummus, and a salad are my favorites). I’ve never been here when it was very busy. I hope they stay in business! Beware: They aren’t open on Monday!

A co-worker and I tried Terra for lunch the week before last and I really enjoyed it. It is in the Watters Creek shopping area so it is a really nice setting. I especially recommend the cheese bread from the starters menu. You get eight really large(and tasty) pieces. We were shocked, expecting the starter to be a lot smaller. Our meals, similarly, seemed really big. I had the falafel and was only able to eat half over lunch.(It doesn’t re-heat all that well later though). I put my side of fries in the middle of the table to share because it was so large. I like the food and the value and will happily go again.

Three [dot] five stars — solid choice for a tasty meal. My mom and sister were in town, and we had a late lunch at Terra to break up an afternoon of shopping. The staff was friendly, and our waiter was attentive, albeit a bit slow. Pita bread was yummy and plentiful. Calimari, hummus, lebni and tabouli were all sampled, yielding smiles and full tums. Picky me would say I prefer my hummus a bit thicker(less tahini and oil, perhaps?), and my tabouli with a little more wheat — but I would be happy to dine again at Terra.

I really like this place. Great location, good food, decent value and good wine.

We went to Terra today and were a little worried at first because there weren’t many people in the restaurant, but we were so hungry we stayed and ended up being pleasantly surprised. The lunch menu was not too extensive but everything we ordered was fresh and tasted great. The hummus came out in a bowl(we’d recommend at least 4 people helping attack this); it was the smoothest hummus we ever ate. There was a little more tahini in the hummus than we would’ve liked, but it was still good(and the pita bread was warm). My husband ordered the falafel sandwich(much better than he expected it to be) which had pickles and hummus in a warm pita and it came with some of the best french fries we’d ever had. I had the chicken breast pita which had sprouts and ziziki sauce; the chicken was moist and flavorful. I ordered the side Greek salad instead of fries and it too was fantastic; the salad dressing was different, but very tasty. There was no way we could’ve finished our food, but we tried our best. It all boils down to we definitely recommend this place.

I love Watters Creek, and Terra Meditteranean Grill is a gem. Went here with a friend and we sat outside on a beautiful(yet windy) sunny day. I ordered off the appetizers, and was pleasantly surprised by the dolmas. They were good! Not Greek Isles good, but good! My friend’s Gyro was HUGE. I think it was an entire pound of meat. The only downside was the waiter who kept asking me to take off my wedding ring and go out with him. Hmmm. I am wondering if this is his typical«shpeel» and sometimes he takes home more than a tip? Maybe if I keep reading these reviews, I will find out…

What do you do when you own a popular Mediterranean chain and want to open a «hipped up» version of your restaurant? Rebranding! Think Ali Baba with a trimmed down menu and without the lunch buffet, and you’ll exactly have Terra. Terra is owned by the Ali Baba guys — the food comes out presented and tasting exactly like Ali Baba. And that’s a good thing if you like this style of food. Terra has excellent falafel and hummus, and while I didn’t try one their salads they are huge! If you’re tired of the same-old, try Terra for something refreshing and different.

My hubby and I have been here 3 times now. It has quickly become one of my fave new restaurants. I was never a HUGE fan of Ali Baba, but for some reason, even though these are the same owners, I just LOVE this place. The food just tastes better to me. And I like the ambiance more, too. I ordered the Greek salad each time, and today tried the vegetarian grape leaves. Twice I’ve gotten the lentil soup, which always come out nice and hot. What I like about this place is that the food always seems extremely fresh. My hubby has gotten the chicken kabobs three times in a row now, and the serving is huge and the food simply dee-lish. Whatever they season their chicken with, it’s just a hint of something different, and we love it. Oh yeah, and we’ve gotten the hummus each time, too. We took my Dad here a few weeks ago and he ordered the salmon kabobs and really liked them, too. And he thought he wouldn’t like«Mediterranean» food. He told us he’d go back here in a heartbeat. We can never finish our plates(and we are big eaters) so there are always leftovers for the next day which makes it even more of a value. The prices are very reasonable in my opinion. It’s a casual yet classy place that feels even more special at night when you can sit at a candlelit table or al fresco if weather permits They also offer wine and we enjoyed a nice bottle of red the other day. Oh yeah, and then there’s the(seasonal) Watermelon and Feta Salad… wow, can’t wait to try that one!

Twice I’ve had friends bring me gyro sandwich from here. Very tasty, huge portions. Sandwich combo with generous sized gyro and salad was about 8 bucks. Well worth it, 2 people could easily split I looked forward to visiting myself, which I did this past Sunday. About 6 friends and I were walking around Watters Creek shopping center on Bethany in Allen, when we all decided a gyro sandwich would hit the spot. We walked in about 2pm, and were the only patrons there. They served us water and menus. I looked over the menu for curiosity and straight ordered the gyro sandwich. Waiter«We don’t serve our lunch menu on Sunday» Me «We really wanted the gyro sandwiches» Waiter«There is a gyro plate that is just the meat» (this plate was $ 15, more than I expected, but fine, its Sunday) Me «We will each get a plate, can you make it like the sandwich?» Waiter«We don’t make sandwiches on Sunday» Me «There are 7 of us that each want a sandwich, can you oblige us?» Waiter«No, we don’t make sandwiches on Sunday» Me(to companions) «Any one up for Village Burger?» So we walked down the street and ate very good sandwiches, albeit burgers. Overall, from the take out gyro sandwiches I did have, I would rate: Food = 4 stars Portion = 5 stars Price = 3.5 stars Service = 1 star By my ranking system, that equals«I’ve had better.» Maybe I’ll go back on a weekday. Maybe I’ll go back on a Sunday and try their other fare. In the meantime, I’m left to ponder, «Is it wrong to ask for a sandwich on a Sunday?» I’ll think about it over at village burger.
