Great food and beer after a long day on the mountain. Ordered the deep fried cheese curds and spinach artichoke dip to start with a couple IPAs and they were amazing! Decided to go with the brisket sandwich with baked beans which was great. The outdoor seating was a very nice break from the old location. Glad we finally got a chance to check out the new location. I now know where the post mountain food and drinks will be!

It’s meh… They have great appetizers but that’s about it. Every time we have gone they’ve always been out of their specials and don’t bother to tell you until after you’ve order either appetizers or drinks, then your sort of stuck. Their menu is very limited and if you don’t like BBQ then it’s not really the place for you. We’ve eaten here a few times and I’m never impressed or even like man i really enjoyed myself. There are other places in alpine with a better menu and the same feel. Probably won’t be back.

The new restaurant is much larger than the previous location down the street(I think they made it a tasting room). I had the brisket sandwich and girlfriend had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious. Food was great and service was spot on.

I was here Saturday night January 9, 2016. I am disgusted and disappointed. They have the word«Alpine» in there name. This is the 3rd and last time I will ever step in here. Walk in on a Saturday night at 8:55 and the kitchen is closed? OK, I’ll just have a beer and watch the Supercross opener on the TV. At 9:45 they ask me to move over to the bar so they can put the chairs up on my table. I look over and the chairs are already mostly on the bar and they make you squeeze in next to other patrons also watching the MX races. 2 laps to go in the main event and«somebody«flips off the TV(it’s not even 10 yet and people are watching the final 2 laps) and the screen goes blank ! How cute, the bar tender throws up his hands knows not who did it nor offers to turn back on for the final 2 laps. Can you say«the inmates are running the asylum». «everyone that works there just looks like they hate life and treat people poorly«, as someone has has posted here on Unilocal. The employees are snooty, the food is WAY overpriced, and there is no one who is competent running the place. I am so out of here. Basically it is a tourist trap ruining Alpines good name. Don’t be a victim. This place needs new management… and soon.

Same great Alpine beer but definitely a downgrade in the food/service/atmosphere from the old place. The food was average. The mini mall atmosphere was lame. It is way bigger and has a good outdoor patio area but I just felt like I was at a chain restaurant. More vegetarian options would be nice. Most places do a good job with that these days but Alpine seems to be playing the ‘we are too cool for vegetarian food’ game. We get it, bacon is good.

Have I drank too many beers? Or am I seriously dazed on where to write the correct review for Alpine Beer Company??? Anyways… I’ll post in both places… Fo Shizzle … I got a beer aquarium in my belly… Slosh slosh… YOHO ho Yo a craft beer life for me… clicking my heels and cold beer glasses… Beer snob… hmmm? nah… just won’t be drinking Budweiser and the olé«WT» faves Pabst Blue Ribbon, or common The Rocky Mountains any longer… It was like the song«Hello» by Adele… with The Alpine Beer Company Mandarin Nectar and Guest Beer Sudwerk Gose Lager… Yes dear… we are now beer BFF’s It’s like the olé 2015 saying…“BYEFELICIA” to my old cheap beer habit… Thanks Alpine Beer and server Linden(so sweet, smiley and attentive) for being like the inventors of braille, and guiding me with your brew menu to the light… «The Beer Light»… to a better beer life… The other evening… I showed up with my friend… it was just beginning to get busy… but had no problem getting a table… Ordered the appetizer special sweet peach wings, half off and the artichoke dip… at first I was like… hmmm small portions. but the food was so very rich and flavorful, that you couldn’t really eat a supersize of any of it… and plan on drinking any beer at all… Anyone would be a bloated mess… I was hesitant to come here to Alpine Beer Company, based on some of the shizzy reviews here on Unilocal… but time must have told and worked the kinks out… because… my food was fast to the table and flavorful… beers fast, service fast and nice… overall… I am pretty excited about my future beer adventures here… Dear Alpine Beer, Thanks for being great in Alpine… you can fill my beer aquarium anytime. First off the food was great, freaking delicious i got a side salad and did wing Wednesday, full size wings, so bomb. The beer selection is the ish. Its pretty busy on Wednesday night, super east county if you know what i mean. But our waitress never smiled, and it was her birthday. And usually when they run out of a beer mid pour, they’ll give you something else instead. She didn’t offer anything else and the pour looked a little short so when we asked they said the menu hasn’t been updated. But why didn’t you say that before so we know what we’re paying for? We left pretty annoyed, not the bnest experience. Alan is awesome though!

Alpine beers are some of the best although the recipes are not what they once were according the taste buds of me and my friends. The food at the brewery was WAY better than the food we had yesterday at the Pub. They don’t have the garlic steamed green beans anymore, just the fried green beans. The service was lackluster as well, our server came off a bit snobby and was inattentive. Middle-aged blonde gal with designer jeans on, I’m sure management could pick out who we had but I don’t recall her name. Our BBQ sandwiches came out and were cold before we could get some BBQ sauce and ranch on the side. It took about 6 minutes which wouldn’t be that big of a deal except the place was not busy whatsoever. While I love Alpine’s beer and will no doubt be back to the tasting room, I will not go back to the overpriced Pub for the small sandwiches that need extra sauce, except getting the extra sauce is a challenge. In a small town like that though, I’m sure the Pub will thrive even without great service and with over-priced food.

If you like hoppy beers, this place is a must! If you’re not a fan of hoppy beers, try ‘em again. Repeat until you come to your senses, it may take some doing but it’s well worth it! The Duet is a perennial favorite, but the variety and strength of offerings will not disappoint, whatever be the itch that needs scratching. Fried pickles. Almost over the edge salty, which is to say just what these brews call for. And brisket nachos. With good old fashioned«cheeze». Cheers!

I give props to Alpine Brewing Company for selling to another craft brewery and not selling to the man(ABinBev). This means that more people can sample the greatness that is Hoppy Birthday or Nelson or Duet because Alpine is waaaay out there. Personally, I’m jazzed about it because I don’t have to haul it to Alpine from Anaheim for some delicious beer. I mention all this because I’m sure Alpine was able to use some of those funds to hook up Alpine Beer, which is an amazing brew pub in Alpine. Or, to help some of you occasional craft beer drinkers relate– it’s like BJ’s but with better beer and a menu that’s not 8 pages. I really liked the layout of Alpine Beer. We were able to sit in the bar area without sitting at the bar but while still getting the feel of sitting at the bar. Also, our server was pretty good and made sure that we were well taken care of during our visit. We ordered the spinach dip and I’ll be damned if that wasn’t the best spinach dip I’ve had in my life. It had some spice to it so don’t order it if you don’t like spicy food. The menu looked really good but we just wanted something to eat while we were finishing our flight. If you’re in the area, you should definitely stop in here.

Alpine makes the best beer anywhere, hands down. Now that I got that outta the way — we finally made it to the new pub for the first time ever last weekend. We got a couple of beers($ 5/pint) and nachos. The nachos were $ 9, which would normally be fine. Except, these nachos were«cheese sauce» nachos, not nachos with actual real cheese. I’m talking $ 9 for vegetarian nachos with cheese sauce. Way over priced. I’d come here again to get a beer, but I wouldn’t order food again. It would be nice if they had more vegetarian options.

My boyfriend and I rolled in after he used me to fill a growler of Keene Idea over at the Brewery/old location(kidding! Because I consumed some of said growlers the day after ;)). The new location is more spacious and modern than the old pub. You’re greeted by a host/hostess as soon as you walk up, but obviously you’re there for beer so head inside to scope out the bar for open seating. The three high tables nearby are also fair game which was where we sat. Immediately, we were served by an attentive server on a relatively easy-going Tuesday night. Our beers were brought to us shortly after ordering. Ahh. heaven/Keene Idea! Service is a definite plus! We were there for some Keene Idea, but I also needed me some food to pair with all that Nelson goodness. Apparently, they have daily specials and since it was Tuesday, the deal was for two tacos plus a side at $ 12. The menu wasn’t very helpful in listing the available taco options but our waitress was kind enough to let us know that brisket, pork, and chicken were available in addition to a ‘special’ selection of scallops(also an additional $ 2; don’t remember being informed of this). In any case, my boyfriend and I ordered some tacos — I opted for 2 scallop tacos and he went for one pork and one brisket. For the sides, we ordered mac n’ cheese(weird, I know) and fried green beans. My tacos were a big fat ‘meh’ — the scallops were puny and the cheddar cheese on top tasted like it came from a bag. The brisket and pork weren’t too bad by themselves, but that cheese sprinkled on top was still bothering me. The mac was DISAPPOINTING — extremely bland and the cheese was only partially melted. I prefer my mac to be saucy and creamy and this wasn’t doing any of that. On a positive note, the fried green beans were a pleasant surprise and were actually very yummy! We were able to get through most of our food and decided to order MORE beer(aka tasters) for the heck of it. The server brings over a useful list where you can check off the beers you want(Alpine or guest beers). You can order individual 4 oz. tasters at $ 2 each or do a flight of 4 or 6. Beers were pleasant and you can never get enough of that Keene Idea, BUT the Nelson… it’s just not the same. It never will be, but I won’t dwell on what was. Overall, great place although food could be a downer depending on what you get. I would stick to their good old-fashioned BBQ Platters. You can never go wrong with those. The awesome beer definitely saves the experience. The Keene Idea euphoria is real, so don’t ever miss an opportunity to have some whenever they brew it!

If you’re a beer person, you already know what kind of reputation Alpine Beer Company has. You also most likely know that recently Alpine and SD juggernaut Green Flash«merged». **You can also claim that Alpine was bought out, even though that might not be totally accurate.** In any case, the old brewery half mile up the road, is still open for tastings, growler fills, and bottle and merch sales; while the small and rundown, but charming diner was moved to the ACE strip mall, and replaced by much bigger and nicer restaurant. After the visit to the brewery, a friend and me walked into the new Alpine location tucked away in the strip mall. We immediately noticed the difference. What was once an old school tiny diner that could fit maybe two dozen guests, now is a modern, shiny restaurant with a lot of seating inside or outside. Even though it wasn’t too busy around lunch time, we decided to sit at the bar and check out how the new location measures. All the classic Alpine beers were on draft, along with about 10 guest tap handles. We ordered some garlic fries with chipotle ranch and got on to the beer flights. Happy to report the beer is still great, even though I think everything that goes into the keg is now brewed on the larger system at Green Flash. We actually asked that question to our waitress(who was very nice and attentive btw), but the answer wasn’t very clear. She just left it at «it might be Green Flash or it might be Alpine». While I don’t mind Green Flash brewed Alpine beer, anyone who tried both should be able to tell the difference. While new location is much nicer and shinier, I have to say I miss the old diner. Didn’t think I’d say that but this new Alpine restaurant lacks that unique vibe the old place had. Though it was tiny and hit or miss with beer availability, it was what made Alpine so unique and great. This new location feels just like Green Flash brewed Alpine Beer… still good, just not the same.

You know you’re a hardcore beer nerd when your order of operation upon landing in San Diego on a Saturday morning is: get rental car, get something to eat, drive straight to Alpine Brewing, arrive right when they open. Yup, you guessed it, that’s how I rolled. I was in town with the homebrew partner for an epic weekend of beer drinking. & Alpine was the starting point. The Alpine we went to right at opening, though, was the actual brewery still in its original location about a mile up the street. That’s because this new pub location doesn’t do any bottle sales, retail merch sales, or growler fills. All of that is over at the brewery only. There was also a couple Alpine beers on tap at the brewery not on tap in the new pub. After a few tasters there & buying some bottles/merch, it was then time check out Alpine’s new pub. Though it’s not far down the same street as the brewery(& old pub), the entire shopping center it’s located in is not visible from the street. Just look for the sign for a CVS store & turn up that driveway. Once in the shopping center, there was plenty of parking. Inside, it wasn’t busy & we found bar seating immediately. Service was friendly & attentive. In addition to 10 Alpine beers, there were 15 guest taps. We picked up the beer tasting where we left off at the brewery & added some garlic fries(ok, more garlic would’ve been better, served with a chipotle ranch dipping sauce that was delish). So there’s the whole Green Flash thing, which was like the elephant in the room. The feeling was that Green Flash brewed Alpine was likely on tap here for those Alpine beers they’re making now, even though Alpine’s brewery is so close. When asked, the bartender didn’t provide a definitive answer. That’s OK, I suppose. Green Flash Alpine is still pretty good. Not as good as Alpine Alpine, but pretty good. A bottle of Nelson I brought back from the brewery would demonstrate that. At least for the moment, all Alpine bottles are brewed & bottled at the Alpine brewery. Taking some time to walk around & look around, the new pub is much bigger & unquestionably nicer than the old pub. Everything is all shiny & new. &, for décor, there’s a large bookcase wall filled with beer memorabilia, including a great photo of Will Ferrell getting trashed on Odin’s Raven. Settling up the tab, it was time to move on. There was the rest of the weekend, many more breweries to visit, & much more beer yet to be drunk. The new Alpine pub is bigger & nicer, but I do miss the old pub. I also wish I had greater confidence that all the Alpine beer on tap at the Alpine pub was from the Alpine brewery.

My friends and I came here yesterday with such great expectations and were so sorely disappointed. The actual place is really nice, I really like what they did with the patio, but the food and beer were just… meh. I ordered the poutine w/egg, the waitress even asked how I wanted the egg and everything and they still forgot it. Not a big enough deal for me to send it back so whatever but the gravy was so absolutely salty and there was tomato in it? I have never in my life heard of poutine with tomatoes but alright. My friend ordered the brisket sandwich and instead received a pulled pork, and my boyfriend ordered the scallop ceviche which was definitely tasty but it was a tiny bowl of ceviche and like a million tortilla chips. It just wasn’t working. Secondly, the beer. I assumed with the whole Green Flash takeover it would be a bit different but man! I was not prepared for this. I ordered a Pure Hoppiness and couldn’t finish it. The Nelson was better, and the Odin was good, but damn, what a difference. Also they have no bottles for sale at this location at all! What the fuck? If you want to purchase anything to go you have to drive down to their brewery location. And lastly, about an hour later I pretty much spent the rest of my San Diego trip with food poisoning so that was less than ideal. The old Alpine location was small and left a bit to be desired but I really don’t think this is an improvement. I would definitely never come back and that really bums me out.

I’m so glad that they opened this location. It was almost impossible to get into their old pub. I had the beef brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad. It was good but not mind-blowing. What is mind-blowing is that they have their Nelson IPA on tap every day. Nelson is one of the best IPAs in the world and it’s nice that it’s fresh and plentiful here at the new place. This will be a regular stop for me on my way to and from San Diego!

This place was so cool. It exceeded my expectations – we actually drove to the original place that sells beer and they directed us here. At first I was leery. However, the hostess was extremely friendly. The interior was beautiful. The woods and brick with metal – nice. Our waitress was very accommodating. My husband ordered a beer sampler and a sour beer of some kind. We shared the chicken Cesar salad and the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. Delightful. And our waitress offered to half our plates – never heard that before but it was cool. They didn’t have a children’s menu but offered the mac and cheese on the sides section of the menu. We are traveling and brought our picky daughter a peanut butter sandwich – they didn’t seem to mind we brought out own food.(I personally do not like bringing food in – seems rude.) I really wanted the lava cake. It took a while to get here but it was good. Inside was melted peanut butter stuff – it really looked like a volcano erupting. Our bill for all this gluttony: $ 54. Not too bad. I fully recommend this place. Great experience.

Alpine Beer Company has certainly upped the ante with a newer, larger facility; along with an expanded menu. Bob, Danielle, and company still serve and though it lacks the«homey» feel of the old place, one cannot help but notice that Alpine Beer Company has moved to the next level. Amazing beer, and great service in spite of being continuously slammed, food that is a step above what the cops are able to concoct in the old kitchen, without the limitations of the old venue make for an awesome experience. If you haven’t visited the new Alpine Pub, you are missing out on a truly excellent experience. 24 taps with number of outstanding guest beers and a menu that has something for everyone. Throw in great service from some of the best servers in the county and you have the makings for an amazing experience.

The New Alpine Beer Company Pub has the same quality and charm of the old pub in a brand new and larger location! Located more conveniently than the original location, right off if I-8 Tavern Rd exit, the Alpine Beer Company Pub serves the same world class beers and the delicious pub cuisine of the original pub in a more modern and spacious establishment. The new outdoor patio is expansive. The food menu includes some typical pub items such as full-size chicken wings, nachos, pulled pork, brisket or chicken sandwiches, as well as daily lunch specials including tacos on Tuesday’s. The pulled pork and brisket are a couple of my favorites as they are prepared fresh on location and are tasty and juicy. The Brewer’s plate is a great beer tasting companion as it includes sausage, peppers, cheeses, crackers and fruit. The dinner menu has several of the same meats, but in the form of a plate and sides. As for the beer, Nelson stands out for the IPA’s. For this they use rye and a hop from the Nelson area of New Zealand that gives it an incredible flavor, color and texture. Followed by Duet and Pure Hopiness. Although I’m not big into American Pale Ales, the Alpine Ale is a tasty version that can still be appreciated by hop enthusiasts. They also have guest beers and their own specialty beers. While I was there for the grand opening, they had Kiwi Herman, a kiwi-strawberry sour.

In town to visit some friends so we went here for a late lunch. Decided to sit on the patio(the only shaded table was still being cleaned but we needed the shade and hostess said it was cool so…) Here’s how it breaks down: Beer — 4⁄5 stars. Some pretty solid options. Love the Hoppy Birthday session and the Nelson. Had some great guest taps as well. Food — 4⁄5 stars based only on the food I actually tried. I ordered the grilled cheese with a side of Mac n Cheese and the finance had the French Dip with a side of Brussel sprouts. Both sandwiches were amazing. Would totally order again. On a side note our friends had a pulled pork plate and wedge salad that were«just ok»(their words). Service — 1.5÷5 stars. I need to note that I have high expectations from servers because I spent a good chunk of my life as one, but I am overly generous when tipping(even if it’s not deserved), so our server still got a good tip after this and I’m hoping that someone reads this review and trains the staff there. Saw the server several times before he actually got to the table. We ordered beers and a flight. Asked for menus so we could order food(not sure why those weren’t brought right away?). Ordered our meal and when it came out out we asked for silverware from the person who delivered the food as well as our server and none came. For 5 minutes. So we went to the hostess desk and got some ourselves. No acknowledgement of this when the server returned to the table to check on us. My friend needed another fork so we asked for that and it never came. Ever. Also had asked for a glass of water which never showed up and when we commented on it the water was brought right as we were getting ready to leave. The server was very friendly but desperately in efficient and could really benefit from more/better training as it came pretty close to ruining the dining experience.
