We always order from Pizza Joe’s. Fresh ingredients made by Italians so what can go wrong!
We love the delivery and Joe is always happy to see us. Also the salad is fresh, cold and crisp and I love their dressing. They should bottle it!

I rarely write reviews that aren’t positive to help out businesses that I believe in, But this was ridiculous! The man behind the counter, who I assume was the owner, was rude and It took over twenty minutes to get the pizza when there were no other orders (which should have been a clear sign not to eat here, I made pizzas for a living at one point, 10 – 15 mins tops, but we were craving pizza and wanted to go local). When it was finally ready he couldn’t get the credit card machine to work and he had to call his wife to come show him how which he said would take another 5 – 10 mins. so I drove up the street to get cash. Paid for the food, then they handed me the pizza and our order was wrong. Would have over looked it if I wasn’t already annoyed but when I asked for my money back they said «no, We can make you a new pizza.» This is when i lost it. I said «no, I’m not waiting another 20 plus minutes for a pizza that you messed up. My wife and I are hungry, we’ve waited long enough, and tolerated enough of your incompetence. give me my money back.» They unwillingly agreed and gave me my money back, so I took the pizza and started to walk away. Then they tried to say that I can’t take the pizza (they would probably try and resell it). I said «I’m taking the pizza» and walked away, but honestly, we each had a bite and it was so disgusting we couldn’t even eat it and are getting dominos instead. Sad when the quality of ingredient to a pizza are this sub par. I’ve never had pizza this bad and I thought I’d never taste a pizza I couldn’t choke down when hungry. It’s so simple! How can you do pizza this poorly! I don’t expect this business will be lasting very much longer. I like to support local businesses, but when the quality and service is this bad, you don’t deserve to own a business. If I could give it zero stars I would. Sorry.

You people do realize that the nice folks running and cooking this amazing pizza are not in their 20’s, or 30’s, or 40’s, or 50’s, right?
Yeah, once in a while people do mess up. I have ordered stuff and once or twice my order has been wrong. I admit it. So what! Every time I go to mcdonnalds or pizza hut they also USUALLY mess up my order as well, and these are young 18+ year old kids with a «fresh» memory.
For all you complainers that say that you «will never go back» to pizza joes, give them a break for crying out loud. I have tried different pizzas from MANY different places and this pizza is one of THE best pizzas I have tried.
You got a slight burn pizza? A soggy pizza? An under cooked pizza? A cold pizza? I have been going to pizza joes for many many years and I have never gotten a «soggy» pizza. Go to Dominicos, THEY have soggy pizza. Under cooked pizza, go to pizza hut. Too sweet pizza? Give me a break. This pizza is not sweet, but is not salty either.
Yeah, i got a slight burn pizza once or twice, but it was mostly very crispy, so no big deal. If you have a problem with something the best thing and the nicest thing you can do is simply tell the owners/​cooks and ask them to remake it, or ask them to make it the way you want. They are really nice folks you know. Don’t act like a brat and say that you will «never go back» to eat here because they made one mistake. Nobody is perfect people.
Delivery, well, yeah, they don’t have the best delivery system nor driver crew in place, so don’t expect miracles on this. 99% of the time I pick it up myself, I inspect it before leaving with the wrong pizza, and everybody is a happy camper. :-)
We are simply LUCKY to have this kind of pizza up here in Altadena. For people to act like brats and not to appreciate this that’s pretty darn bad.

This place is a joke. Uncooked toppings. Pizza over priced. Not even hot when u get the food. Avoid this place.

I have been getting pizza from Pizza Joe’s for 35 years! My family loves it – the best pizza ever. I am picky about sauce and their sauce is good and their cheese is good. We always get our favorite — pepperoni, mushroom and peperonccini. We also ask them to sprinkle it with chili flakes when it comes out of the oven. And we always get their anitpasta salad with THE BEST Italian Vinaigrette! And the dolmas are great too! A husband and wife owned place, so delivery isn’t their thing… but the food is good!

LOVE THIS PLACE! THIS IS MY FAV PIZZA! A simple mom & pop pizzaria. I’ve been enjoying pizza from here for years. My pies are always the same, pepperoni and sausage. Hot and super yummy! I order ahead and pick up. The husband and wife team are always nice. I’m bummed that they’re closed on Sundays.

I like this place. The pizza is good, not great, but it tastes fresh and not greasy. My one complaint is that it’s not always consistent. That may be because it’s a mom and pop shop… pop usually makes the pie and maybe it comes out different the times mom makes it. Overall it’s my go to place when I’m not too lazy to pick it up myself. Mom and pop are nice, not overly friendly, but never rude.

Friendly service, great Pizza and the feeling for a neighborhood pizzeria. Food was hot and fresh. We will return.

We are semi– regulars (live nearby), loyal, and they just gave my husband a barely warm pizza to bring home. Cold almost. Call-​in order, and he was early picking it up, not late. Rainy night a few days before Christmas: are we calling to complain, going back for another? No, we are not. The moment has passed, and it’s cold out. But loyalty works both ways, local business.
Ironically, this can be a fairly/​pretty/​very good place: thin crust on request, etc. We avoided it for years because it looks a little grim, then we heard it was good. So until now, we’ve been good customers.
So they saved a little money giving us some abandoned pizza? Short-​term congratulations! And Merry Christmas.

The crust, cheese, sauce… Everything is much better than your basic pizza spot. I have only had the pizza here, so I can’t speak on anything else, but it’s pretty darn good. They are never overly crowded which seems to be a blessing. Call ahead to ensure the couple who runs this establishment is there. Enjoy!

Ordered pizza for a large party, said we would pay in cash for DELIVERY. They informed us that it would be here in 45 minutes because it’s a busy Friday night.
Almost 1.5 hours later, called to inquire about our order. They said, and I quote, «oh you wanted that delivered?»
Definitely will not order from here ever again, and hope people that will order will be cautious about ordering.

Well, it’s a matter of taste, I love this place, they use real cheese and well balanced sauce.
There speciality is the Soujokh Pizza.
Don’t ask for delivery, if you’re looking for a delivery call Dominos, this is a mom and pop pizzeria, an old fashion type of place.

Love this place! I grew up down the street and have been coming here since the early 90s. Ingredients are fresh, pizza is greasy and the dough is exceptional. Call ahead and come pick it up so you don’t have to wait, they also deliver but it usually takes awhile. I’m not sure what the reviewers complaining about customer service are talking about, the place is owned and run by Joe and his wife and both are extremely pleasant every time I come in.

Pizza is decent. Very greasy and takes forever to pick up. I have also found hair in my pizza before. pretty gross. I love to support Armenian businesses in my neighborhood but sadly I have found other places that fit my interest more.

The pizza is good, and reasonably priced, it is a mom and pop place, so you have to bare with the sometimes less time efficient pace they move in, that and they had to come by TWICE, because they couldn’t find my place to deliver to, despite my detailed instructions. Solution? Next time, pick up and take home!

Food–
I order two pizzas…
— Very mediocre pizza for the price. Their was nothing special about the pizzas at all.
— The sauce is a bit too sweet.
Pros–
— Good quality cheese.
— They got my complicated order correctly.
Cons–
— Delivery is almost non-​existent.
— Delivery doesn’t accept credit card. (It’s the year 2015, get a mobile POS unit!)
— Told me to pickup my pizza in 40 minutes and it still wasn’t ready, so I had to wait another 20 minutes in the store.
— Burnt pizza crust.
Overall…
I don’t think I’ll go back unless they accept credit cards over delivery, and raise the quality of their ingredients.

I recently moved to the area and noticed Pizza Joe’s. I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the veggie pizza when I walked there to check it out a few months ago. The woman who took my order was very sweet and while I waited for the pizza to be prepared and cooked in the oven… she gave me a free sample of the falafel she was preparing (falafels are also on the menu). The falafel was very tasty too.
I was there at dinner time on a weekday so I’m not sure how busy they are normally, but when I was there, the restaurant was quiet so I read one of the periodicals that were available at the table near the seating area…& waited for my delicious pizza pie.
I’m from Italian stock, so I know my pizza. ;)
What a great experience. So glad Pizza Joe’s is in my neighborhood.

Soooooooo good! This is one of those places where if you blink when you walk by, you’ll miss it. I ordered caprese pizza and a small salad. The salad was crisp, fresh, simple and delicious. Not to mention it came with a generous portion of dressing.
The pizza was PERFECT! The right amount of cheese and toppings and the crust was perfect– thin, just like I like it. It was a really filling and delicious lunch. I can’t wait to go back. The price are reasonable for what you get, too.
Not to mention the guy working there is as sweet as pie. (Pun intended.) I think I found a new favorite lunch spot!

hmmmm… Pizza is ok, but the delivery service doesn’t start until after 5pm?
