Wow! I cannot believe this restaurant is around the corner from our house!!! The best pizza in the area by far– I am originally from NY& have a difficult time finding great pizza on this coast. The pizza is delicious & they deliver within 5 miles of the restaurant. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is thin and the menu isn’t long or exhausting. Simple, fresh and delicious!

First time here, friends at hoopla told us to stop by and try the marguerite pizza. Wife had that and I had the bbq chicken. Both very delicious. We both had the berry drink and ordered the lunch box special. Just finished lunch box. Wow great wings and Belgian fries with Korean sauce, Habanero and in house Aioli sauces. Ok Korean was hotter than Habo sauce. My eyes are sweating which means Awesome. Thanks to the crew of Pizza of Venice and Lorri and Scott at Hoopla Emporium for recommendation to great food and welcoming atmosphere. Please note: just so you can be prepared, we just discovered that neither of us added tips as both thought the other did it. We did not see a tip option on there electronic pay. Oops! Our fault and will make it up next time through. Tips are well deserved.

Today we had a delivery from Pizza of Venice: a margherita pizza and an Altadena salad. Both were absolutely delicious. I loved the thin crust on the pizza, and the toppings were simple and perfect. The salad was also amazing – 10 steps beyond what you’d get at most other restaurants. It was chocked full of goodies, including cashews, stone fruit, radishes, and red onions. You can’t go wrong eating here.

In the past when dealing with restaurants, I always used to say F-C-U-K being my friend. I don’t need friends. I have enough. What I want YOU to do is get your ass back there in that kitchen and whip me up the best damn meal of my life. /End story. But I’ve changed a bit. I like to talk more. And even though many people prove to be assholes, I genuinely, at the core of my very being, LOVE people. I like to talk to business owners and go beyond the surface to get to know them and how they create and how they got started. I like getting suggestions regarding the menu from the waitstaff. Asking them about their personal favorite dishes/items and why. Stuff like that. So, though customer service meant nothing to me in the past, I have to say, it means EVERYTHING to me now. And this is where Pizza of Venice falls short. They make a good wood fired pizza with a perfectly thin, crispy, and(most importantly) STURDY crust… But these impersonal, severely curt, mood killing introverts really bother me and make me want to say fuck this place to infinity and beyond. Trying to get ANYTHING out of them is like pulling teeth. Why not hire someone who likes people? And likes to answer questions? And likes to interact with others? Why put people who don’t like to talk at the forefront? And let’s go even further with this. How important is customer service? In the words of homeboy Daymond John from Shark Tank, he says customer service… 1.) Builds trust. People are loyal if there is reason to remain loyal. And with all the competition out in LA for pizza… don’t you want loyal customers? Don’t you want to build trust and keep people coming back? Don’t you want to stand out from all of the pizza competitors so that your loyal peeps never leave? Not with that attitude. And right now, Zelo Gourmet Pizza up the street is looking mighty attractive after your antics. 2.) Is worth MORE than money. Take Vibrato Grill in Beverly Hills, for example. This place is expensive as shit. I end up dropping a couple of hundred for MYSELF every time I go. But you know what keeps me coming back to that expensive ass place? The ATMOSPHERE and the CUSTOMERSERVICE. They do everything short of wiping my ass for me and I’m loyal for it. Holla if you hear me. 3.) Affects Word of Mouth! Word of mouth for a business is EVERYTHING. If people ain’t talking about you, how do you expect to rise in popularity? How do you expect to grow and be successful? Shitty customer service will keep people from spreading the good news about you guys if you don’t curb it. So nip it in the bud and be nice. 4.) Is super attractive to NEW customers… cause at the end of the day, NEW customers are what keep businesses growing. Am I right, or am I right? We came to support you after we heard about the break in. Now I don’t know if we’ll ever come back.

Hmmm. First time order, so we tried five different pizzas for four adults and a small child. Perfect amount in terms of portions for us, although $ 70 for pizza night is a lot. Two of the five pizzas were REALLY good, actually excellent– the saucy fungi and the HMH. The three others were almost tasteless, though– the OG pesto, deluxe, and POV. Many of the ingredients noted appeared to be missing(pesto? mozzarella? Caramelized onions? Chive oil?) and they were dry and unappealing. Not feeling the house-made pepperoni, either. Our friend asked, «is this vegan sausage?» and that’s really what it tastes like to us. The pesto one was especially disappointing, as it was so green, but tasted of… plain potato? VERY bland. BUT!!! The first two I mentioned were really, really tasty, great flavors, worth the money, and we’d definitely order those again. It almost seemed like those two came from a different place– the contrast was that striking. They get their meat from the farmer’s market, a HUGE plus for us. And the crust is beautifully thin. Delivery was prompt, too. So we’ll definitely order again, but only those.

some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I plan on fleshing out this review, but for now I’ll say that I’ve been coming to POV for around 3 years now, and I’ve been delighted to have such a delicious pizza place so close to my house. The food is quite expensive, however rest assured that you get what you pay for with quality of ingredients and in turn how tasty the food is. One of my favorite menu items are the Brussels sprouts with Korean sauce – they’re seasonal, so you won’t see them all the time, but if you’ve ever had mushy Brussels sprouts these will assuage your fears. Crispy and tangy, with just the right amount of spice, they’re a great accompaniment to the pizzas.

Susan is amazing! Excellent experience at the brick and mortar. Highly recommend coming here and saying hi. We always order delivery but I felt it was time to go in person. All of our food was delicious and it made our out of town guest wanting more! Woo hoo!

They have the worst pizza ever! Seriously, the pepperoni pizza was worse than dog food(yes I have tried dog food and it tastes much better). I spit it right out after the first bite. Check out the picture I uploaded. Fries were way over fried and huge, like they didn’t have time to chop it up a little more. Basically, it’s a big potato hand chopped into 9 pieces. Well, you might say that it is the style but how the heck did they over fried that big potato jerky? I saw no heart in the food, period.

This place is pretty nice! I’m from the area but haven’t had the chance to stop in until recently. Here’s my opinion of the meals I’ve had within my past two visits! Chicken Curry Pizza– very interesting flavor at first, but it grows on you. Love the taste of this pizza and it could potentially be my favorite. I’m my opinion, it’s pricey and not a pizza to share with another person. But then again, I don’t like sharing my food ;) Korean BBQ Cauliflower– so yummy! That marinade/sauce is so flavorful, but unique with the cauliflower. Very sweet. I’d probably ask them to lay light on the sauce– it’s drenched. Curry Cauliflower– this was a bit strong for me, but I love curry and preferred this over the Korean BBQ flavor. But that’s my own personal taste. I’d want to eat this with something with mess flavor to balance it out. Lamb Pizza– unique. It’s lamb on a pizza, and if this is your thing– try it! :) I can’t say I’d get it again, I just ended up eating the lamb off the pizza and then the pizza last. *shrugs*

Review on customer service. First time calling to order pizza delivered. Asked if they deliver to my area and was told to look on their map on their website. Uh, I should not have to go to a computer to look something up about your business while I have you on the phone. Then she asks if I want to order on the phone or online. I say I would like to order by phone since I’m ALREADYONTHEPHONE. Then her other line rings, she says hold on and I hear her on the other phone taking an order from the other caller… Hello? Will you sell me your overpriced pizza? No? Ok bye.

First Timer! My husband kept seeing this place on Instagram and wanted to try it, so we finally made it here. We ordered the Chicken Curry $ 15, Margarita $ 9, & Belgian Fries $ 6 . The margarita pizza was super! The basil was finely cut into strips and that’s how I wish it was everywhere. Super yummy and on a thin crust! Can’t beat it. Belgian fries were delicious. I thought the price was high for the amount of fries you get. A bit confusing, but I might order again anyways. The chicken curry wasn’t for me. But I normally don’t like curry so that was expected. If you do like curry I highly suggest it. I ate the whole slice and don’t regret it. All pizzas are one size and are cut into 4 slices. BYOB(there’s a liquor store next door) Complimentary water NO high chairs ALL indoor seating is bar stools ALL outdoor seating is picnic tables Staff is delightful!

My best friend brought me here the other day, would never have known otherwise– SHORTREVIEW: My first thought while driving there was– woah this is pretty far from me, better be good. I can get really snobby about driving vs destination experience. It’s LA man. And… Now… I am trying to figure out how many of my foodie friends and/or dates I can bring on different visits because THISPLACEISTHE ****. TOTALLYWORTHMYDRIVEANDMY $. I left with the biggest smile on my face. GOGOGOGOGOGO. DETAILEDREVIEW(I’m going to rave like a lunatic here– #sorrynotsorry): Service: 5 stars– friendly, quick, honest about faves and flavor profiles Price: Fuhgettaboutit– I eat a lot of food at a lot of places, and my motto is this– whatever the price, that food better be worth it. ANDTHISWASMORETHANWORTHIT. I got scared by a few reviews that complained. Nope, they were wrong. Atmosphere: 4.5 stars– It’s a cozy but modern pizza place. Open kitchen, you can smell the fresh ingredients. Think modern, clean, pizza shop. My only gripe is a wish they had room for some low traditional tables(they don’t), but the bar height communal table and the smaller tables for two were still cool. Food: Is one billion stars a rating? Good lord man this was SO worth it. Quick Recap: Cauliflower app– perfectly grilled, expertly flavored(curry proportion was so balanced), sauce was ridiculous. They told me they use seasonal vegetables for the app dish, and I could totally taste that. I took my finger and cleaned the extra sauce on the plate with it. Wings with habanero mango sauce– wings were perfectly cooked, soft and crispy in the right places. Habanero mango sauce is made in house OHMYGODSOGOOD. Another finger plate cleaner for me. Thank jeebus my friend is like my family and accepts that I am a savage when the food is that good. Lamb pizza– BLEWMYMIND. Crust perfectly thin light and salty. Lamb melt in your mouth with a tatziki sauce that was perfectly light and complex at the same time. Super fresh herb chiffonade was the PERFECT touch. My food nerd and my savage met at this plate and ate it all like a baws. Cheesecake dessert: WHAAAAAAAATTTTT??? DID I JUSTGETMYMINDBLOWNAGAIN??? It’s a frozen cheesecake dessert made by a local artisan– they told me its pretty much the only thing they don’t make in house and that when they tasted it they had to have it. So I tried it. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTONORMALCHEESECAKE it is total CRACK. Get ready to be like«oh ice cream and candy and cheesecake had a baby and it’s in my mouth now and its somehow not too sweet but just sweet enough to make me feel pleasantly guilty.» I’m screwed. FINALVERDICT: Go. Go now. It’s the ****.

These pizzas are incredible. We had the Lamb pizza which was probably the best pizza I’ve eaten in years. That same day, we tried a few other flavors and they were all great, but size maxes out at the size of a normal dinner plate. Disappointing as you want more from a pizza, especially when you have guests. I’d give these guys a 5 in a heartbeat, but, I marked them down because $ 16 for a pizza the size of a dinner plate is a bit ridiculous. Please make larger pizzas for that price. Or just make larger pizzas please! Your toppings and crust are great.

I feel like I let myself and Pizza of Venice down. I saw some Unilocal friends check in a while ago. I bookmarked it and told myself on four or five occasions that we should stop. That’s four or five more of their pizzas I could have tried. As it stands, I’ve only tried one. It was amazing and I’m hooked. Saucy fungi. Red sauce, provolone, mozzarella, goat cheese(melts in your mouth), caramelized red onion, mix of mushrooms, tomato confit, chives, and chive oil. Look at that list of ingredients. Delicious. I think I licked the chive oil off the pan. Pizza comes out in 4 modest slices. Enough for us to share but I feel silly that I didn’t order the Belgian fries. You never pass up Belgian fries and of course, the people next to us got them so I just had to watch them eat them. Rookie move. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere just makes you want to hang out there every day and try all of their concoctions. Not so rookie move, I noticed the liquor store next door and grabbed a few beers to enjoy with the pizza. It’s funny. The liquor store says«coldest beer in town» outside, and they’re not joking. P.O.V. has a bottle opener inside so I’m sure I wasn’t the first person to think of this. We’re coming back P.O.V. Coming for the pineapple pulled pork BBQ pie, meatball pie, braised lamb pie, all your pies. Mondays is 5 dollar Margherita. Gimme 4.

My husband surprised my daughter & I with a new place for lunch. Boy so glad it was delicious! A little off the beaten path for worth it. One of the owners Jamie was great gave us answers to a million questions. We had … Brussel sprouts in Korean sauce, Belgium fries, arugula salad, cheese pizza & meatball pizza. Would def return. Recommend highly!!!

THISISTHEBESTPIZZAEVER!!! Everything here is handmade from scratch — from the cured meats to the dough to the sauce. If you ask the chef about it or the owner Jamie, who is usually there, they will tell you all about how they make everything. It’s incredible!!! SOEPIC! The limeades are also the most refreshing drinks I’ve ever had. The tangerine one is especially… A…DREAM!!! Listen, I’ll be here a lot. This 5 stars is for it being a local pizza shop that serves really delicious and flavorful pizzas. For you local folk, Mondays are $ 5 Margherita pizza days! Normally $ 9, you can save almost 50% on Mondays. And who doesn’t love saving money?! I wouldn’t say this is a place for you to drive out of the way for, but if you live in the Altadena area it’s a great place for a solid meal. They even serve wings, fries, and salads. I am happy to support this local place. Boyfriend: «If you really want to support them you wouldn’t go on Margherita Mondays!» Haha, very true but I can’t pass on saving money! They are located in a pretty dingy lot next to Baja Ranch but don’t let that deter you. There is a decent amount of seating if you want to eat inside. Enjoy!

Great little place and great pizza. Took the M/argherita pizza and it’s really good! the crust is thin and the sauce is really tasty. You can even fold your slice in half and eat it that way! Also, the staff is really nice :)

First timer, meeting with friends for lunch and I’m extremely impressed by the vibe and the food. We ordered: 1. A massive house salad that was an unbelievably fresh array of all that is healthy for you. I called it a work of art. 2. Two orders of perfectly plump, crispy and juicy wings with their Korean sauce on the side. Perfection! 3. My friend ordered the OG pizza, and it looked bombastic! Loaded with cheese, pesto, garlic and green veggie goodness. Service was fast, and I got a free limeade by checking in on Unilocal. This place got an excellent review from the LA Weekly and now I know why. There’s no beer or wine but there is a liquor store near to bring your own. Two thumbs up!
