This sushi restaurant has a lot of potential. Our experience was not the best. The waitress was rude and not able to stand by our table long enough to answer basic menu questions. Food was good, barely above average. On Sunday they give a standard special 15% off the bill although they didn’t advertise. The other coupon on Unilocal is outdated and was for Valentine’s Day. They need to remove it. This is a pet peeve!

My husband and I are new to the area and decided to try after reading all the great reviews. We are still trying to conciliate the reviews and the food we ate. Because it was bad in a way we never thought sushi could be bad. We could not finish and just threw out over half of it. The fish tasted weird and generic, the rolls that had tempura tasted basically like french fries that were fried in dirty oil so all you taste is grease. I guess we did not get sick so that is somewhat of a silver lining… We just could not understand how the experiences could be so polarized. It made us wonder if maybe there are 2 different sushi places both named Hana Sushi?! Don‘t visit. It‘s really not worth it. Go anywhere else. Stay home. Play with your dog. Go to Disney. Take a hike. Go swim. Go fish. Go watch manatees. Really. Do anything else.

My boyfriend showed me this place and I was instantly a huge fan. It’s has a more modern feel which I love. It’s small so I wouldn’t recommend it for larger groups unless you call ahead and they can put together a few tables. Their godzilla roll is fantastic!

Sushi was okay but seemed lacking meaning I’ve gotten more at other restaurants paying the same. The guy who helped us left early and the lady who helped us was the manager I think. We felt really rushed towards the end as she took plates before they were empty. She asked to take mine and took both our plates including my sons’ who was still finishing his meal. Went there after a wine tasting event near by. Will not go back.

Great value with great quality! This casual sushi restaurant is definitely a neighborhood gem. They have a variety of sushi for affordable prices and they taste awesome! Their appetizers and entrees are great too! I recommend dragonfly, volcano, alaskan, french kiss, and naruto rolls.(Really, all of their rolls are very good). For the appetizer, hana bomb and volcano mussels are awesome as well. If you still have room for dessert, fried ice cream is a must try!

This was a very solid local sushi joint. By no means the hippest /coolest looking /trendiest sushi place in the hottest locale I’ve ever been to in my life, because I eat A LOT of sushi, and have been to lots of places like that. And so in that regard this place cannot compare. But for a quality, «hey let’s just go eat fast and go shopping» type of sushi meal, this is actually a very solid place with very good food. I had salmon nigiri and grilled eel(unagi) which are two of the most oft-eaten sushi dishes I eat, and the fish was very fresh, honestly just as good as many of the fancier sushi places I have been to. Service was friendly and competent, we were served fast, in and out pretty quickly with no problems during a busy lunch, and it was a nice start to a day of shopping.

We are new to the area and looking for a new sushi place! A coworker recommended Hanna Sushi, so we decided to give it a try! The sushi was great and came out in a timely manner. The volcano roll was especially good! The atmosphere is great and perfect for our lunch time visit. We will definitely be back!

I am so thoroughly impressed with the quality of both the food and the service here. I have visited Hanna Sushi several times, and consistently gotten high-quality, well-prepared sushi and sashimi. I was honestly weary at first, only because the prices seemed so reasonable. But after my first visit-they gave me a reusable 10% off card! So now I can get fantastic sushi at a ridiculous price.

We decided to drop in based on the reviews we read. Had the fried squid rings(very good), Dragon Scale roll, eel nigiri, and Spicy conch roll. Everything was great. Server knew the menu well and was friendly. I’d recommend into friends and we’ll definitely make it back.

Sushi we ordered(Crunchy Tuna roll, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Roll, Eel roll) were not bad. Nothing impressive per se. We like the Spicy Tuna roll best. Tempura ice cream was quite nice too. Deep-fried sugary goodness. :) Service was so so. Gal who seated us wasn’t too enthusiastic. Didn’t seem too excited to have customers. Lunch menu wasn’t available(cos’ it’s Saturday) but there’s a 15% discount on the bill.

I really love this place for sushi in Altamonte. The space is small but always is packed for lunch and dinner. I LOVE and recommend the Fiji Roll!!! It’s pieces of raw tuna, salmon, krab, and Escobar with avocado and radish wrapped in rice paper. The plate is decorated with Sriracha and Wasabi mayo. It’s so freaking amazing!!! The special Boat for Two is a good amount of food and with an awesome variety of rolls. The 6 rolls it comes with are Alaskan, Philly, Mexican, Spicy Tuna, Casey, and Krab special. Mmmmm, it will fill you up! Get hot green tea with your food on a rainy or cool day. The special scallop sushi is delicious. It’s scallop mixed with soft mayo and masago, on a little scoop of rice and wrapped in seaweed. The kids love the gyoza and the tempura chicken. My son can eat 3 plates of the gyoza appetizer. We frequent this place every other week, we love it so much.

This place is average at best. The staff was fine, not great but not bad. The décor was pretty awful, but I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular, and the place was clean. The food and drinks are the main focus areas. The drink menu is lacking; it would be nice to have a couple martinis on there, but even just a better wine selection would make a difference. I wanted a drink and would have ordered a bottle of wine, just not of those options. The food was decent. The Fuji roll was the best we had, and I highly recommend it(if I go back it’s because of this roll!). It’s all raw and wrapped in rice paper so it’s very nice and fresh tasting. The Lava roll(more like your standard Volcano roll) was good. The Shrimp Cracker roll(odd name) was almost all fried rice because some of the bites didn’t have other ingredients in it it seemed. The Dragon Fly roll was horrible. both of us ate a piece at the same time and both immediately made the same grossed out face and said it tasted super fishy. probably should have sent it back :-/we didn’t eat another bite of that. Really though. If you like raw sushi and sashimi, the Fuji roll was great, and I recommend it. we almost ordered another.

Great presentation and quality of food! Don’t let the small space fool you! We stopped by for dinner with a friend and were promptly greeted and shown to our table. The space is fairly small, with maybe 8 tables. The sushi is prepared in the same room you’re in and you can watch them make it. I was a bit nervous as the space look kinda run-down when we walked in, but I trusted my friend and the reviews. I’m glad I did! We ordered the beef negimaki and these little fried avocado tuna boats as appetizers. So delicious! I really enjoyed both. The presentations were really nice and I appreciated the negimaki chopped into smaller bite-sized pieces. I ordered the Banzai to drink, which was a perfectly sweet sake and plum wine mix over ice. Yum! For sushi I ordered a Rainbow roll and the Walking roll, which I hoped didn’t grow any legs. Both were so fresh! Extra spicy mayo on the side and they had brown rice available for a dollar. I would definitely come back here. Really great sushi.

Decent sushi — some strange flavor combinations — I also think we ordered sushi with competing flavors which was weird. The service was meh — we had to ask to get a server and then she left partway through, didn’t say anything, she just wasn’t there any more and some other lady took over. Weird. Price is right — we ordered three rolls, a Hama bomb, a glass of wine each, edamame, and small ginger salads and it was $ 25 each. Other sushi places we’d be paying closer to $ 35. The Hana Bomb was strange — it looked so good in the pictures but there was some unexplainable meat in the appetizer and I couldn’t figure out what it was so I had to pull that part off the item which didn’t leave much to eat. Considering tuna and krab are the only meats mentioned on the menu as part of the bomb, that was weird too(ours also looked very different than the other Unilocal photos of the same item).

Yum!!! This place looks a bit lackluster from the outside, but my husband assured me that it was safe. I’m glad I trusted him. Hana Sushi is one of the best-kept sushi secrets in Altamonte. We went at lunch and took advantage of their bento box deal. With an avocado roll as an appetizer, my husband and I – neither of us small people and both of us healthy eaters – were very, very satisfied at the end of our meal. I tried the chicken katsu, while my husband got the chicken teriyaki. Both were great. The gyoza were not the best I’ve ever had, but the harumaki were so good I could easily forgive them. One of the highlights of the meal was the ginger dressing on the salad. I could see and taste the fresh ginger. Very refreshing!

This is as good as it gets in the city of Orlando for authentic Japanese. The shrimp tempura was delicious even though I the crust is was a bit thick. The sushi pieces were very long and fresh.
