I usually stay at a Choice family hotel because they are pretty consistent. This hotel is very clean. The employees have been helpful and friendly. The breakfast room is small and gets crowded during breakfast and the items served is limited. A normal American«continental breakfast». The coffee was flavorful and HOT. Nice workout room and pool. The AC unit in the room was a little noisy when cooling, but not bad when heating. Overall a solid 3 star for me.

Sorry, «Dis“Comfort Inn, but I cannot recommend you, just rename you! See my accompanying review for the Best Western which came to my rescue. I spent weeks scouring the tiny town of Alvin for what I hoped would be a decent place to stay during our recent visit. I finally settled on Comfort Inn and made my reservations. I will give the desk clerk credit for being very nice and also attempting to be helpful. However, I cannot give any credit to this hotel nor it’s policies. They tried to put us in a newly painted room(shoddy job too) that smelled of paint fumes. Then the desk clerk tried to convince me that once the A/C was on, the smell would go away. Well, the A/C was already on and I then asked for a discount if we were going to stay there. She was unable to grant my request but offered to call the corporate office. Sounded good to me. Unfortunately their reply was ridiculous! Something to the effect of that they could not grant a discount since I had booked online. Huh? How else would I have done it? Well, apparently had I called that particular location, then yes maybe. Well, um, no, this doesn’t fly with me. I’m not paying close to $ 90/night for this! This is the part when I walk out and proceed to go to literally side-by-side neighboring hotels and we get a room at the Best Western for less money and no paint fumes! We don’t get charged anything by Comfort Inn and the desk clerk does apologize about 50 times. It still doesn’t cut it though. I won’t try this place again. Since I did see the room we didn’t keep, I have to conclude the Best Western actually ended up being nicer anyway.
