First visit here. Started with the large house margarita. A little bit on the sweet side; can’t tell about the alcohol yet. Chips are warm and cut thick. Two types of salsa red and a warm green. Napkins are a roll of paper towels on the table. and your fork comes in a little wax paper envelope. Bathroom, tables, and floors are very clean. You can definitely smell Fabuloso!!! The windowsills and the ceiling could use a good thorough cleaning though. Enchiladas were very good. We had chicken Al Carbone and cheese. And there is lots and lots and lots of cheese. Service was very good.

This place was once very good a long time ago. It has changed ownership several times since then and is not very good at all now. You’d be better off going across the street to Little Mexico. Cannot recommend and the staff is not very attentive, either. The meat in the tacos had a bad odor to them and the beans and rice were watery and gummy. No tip left due to the poor food and service. Avoid.

I like this place because you get big portions for cheap prices. Definitely not authentic Mexican food but it’s still good. The breakfast is my favorite I usually get the migas plate. If you’re looking for great service this is probably not the place for you… The food is good enough to make me forget about the grumpy staff

I tried to give it no stars! But this place was just horrible service. Never again shall we go there. Servers need to be more attentive. Just plain rude. And took forever.

Went there for the first time. Salsa was terrible, chips were stale, not looking good. Food showed up looking delicious, large portions… then I put it in my mouth. Save yourself the trouble go to Pearland and eat at Gringo’s.

Used to eat here several times a week for breakfast. Cheap and good. By far the best re-fried beans I have ever had. I don’t know what it is but I could almost sit down and just eat their beans for a meal.

Best breakfast burritos in town. You have to give it a try. Get the supreme burrito! Their salsa is great also. Not too runny or spicy. Very quick and affordable.

I wandered in here merely because I was across the street and hungry. I love Mexican food and I find that most places are quite similar. Not this one. I ordered the 2 taco plate and it came with rice and beans. The tacos were with ground beef and it is the greasiest beef I’ve ever experienced. And the taco shells are an odd consistency and equally greasy. The rice was dry and had an odd flavor, so I did not eat it. Sadly, the shining star of the meal was the flavorful salsa and the refried beans. I wouldn’t come back.

My wife and I are the bartenders there. Alot of people don’t know this but WEHAVE A BARTOTHERIGHTWHENYOUWALKIN. So many people Said they’ve eaten plenty times and never knew. We have 6 tables that seat 6 each and 12 chairs at the bar. Us bartenders take care of EVERYBODY that walks in our side. Our side serves food as well. Many nights we have bar specials exclusive to the bar only. So if you wanna watch our many sports varieties on all our tv’s and grab a drink, try the bar instead of the restaurant. We always have more fun on our side(they just don’t want to admit it)

Location is a few doors down from the original building. The larger building includes a bar. The service can be horrible. Slowly bussed tables. Some food on dining room floor. There is a schism in that kitchen — one week the cheese chile relleno will be really good. The next week, it will be swimming in grease. I like the beans and rice. Enchiladas can be good or blah. Burgers can be good if not too greasy. This place has to step up in it’s consistency in cleanliness, service, and food quality. Five years, ago, it was small and tasted like grandma was in the kitchen making wonderful food. Today, I really miss the kitchen magic and order gorditas or breakfast burritos to go. Price is good. I want my favorite place back. Wish they would get their cheese quality and training figured out.

I work in Alvin, and this is one of our favorite places to go for lunch. Mind you… there isn’t much to choose around town. This place can be very good. and at times very bad. I think it depends on who they have cooking. I love getting the flautas, but recently it has been a hit or miss, because sometimes they come out WAYTOGREASY. Since then, I have tried several other things because I’m afraid to order the flautas now. The tostadas= YUMMY Gorditas =yummy tacos al pastor = not bad, but probably wouldn’t order again enchiladas = hit or miss the rice and beans are always good. Try their homeade«limonada» it is made with freshly squeezed limes. I do agree with the other reviews about the service… it can be pretty bad at sometimes.

I just moved to Alvin, and was told by my apartment manager to try this place, she said it’s everyone’s favorite around here. Most of the reviews on Unilocal were positive too, so I took that as a good sign. Went in, weren’t greeted promptly. Sat ourselves. The walls were dirty with big black smears. I ignored it and thought that would be fine as long as the food was good. I ordered two tacos with rice, beans and guacamole. My husband ordered an enchilada. His came SWIMMING in velveeta cheese, mine had American cheese grated over it, and the rice looked and tasted like it came straight out of a microwavable Uncle Ben’s packet. The ground beef had no flavor. Husband’s meat was overcooked and chewy. There was an unidentified«thing» in my meat. We were both pretty grossed out by the whole thing. When the waitress came by to ask us how it was we showed her the unidentified object and told we didn’t really like it. She didn’t know what the thing was either & said she would got get the manager. We waited 15 minutes! We were just sitting there kind of being ignored, then someone came out(He didn’t introduce himself, so we weren’t sure if he was the manager or otherwise.) He told us that the unidentified thing was a part of the seasoning they used, and we said ‘okay’ and he walked away, without asking us anything else. Then we waited ten more minutes, and the waitress came by, asked us if he came over and if we needed anything, we asked for the check and waited another ten minutes. When we were checking out up at the counter the man running our card asked if everything was good, and we said no, that we didn’t have a very good experience, and he just kind of looked at us weird. The food was just bad quality. It does seem to be something of a local favorite, and that’s fine, but honestly I’d rather have Taco Bell than eat at this place. I do not recommend! Also, seriously bad customer service and for the record I have never complained at a restaurant before, I am not that type of customer. This was really just terrible though, a complete waste of an hour and $ 20.

Was in Alvin yesterday and decided to go to a mex restaurant I’ve never been to before. Was seated promptly, but noticed that someone’s empty margarita glass had been left at the table, with big old specks of salt dotting the glass that confirmed that it was someone’s discarded drink that the bussers failed to remove. So immediately, I’m worried that the table hasn’t been fully cleaned and wiped. The waitstaff takes our order, and Im sure she’s gonna remove it. Nope, she doesn’t. I have to ask her on her second visit to take it away. Penalized 1 star right off the bat. Chips and salsa: comes free with your meal. On the plus side: the salsa IS good, coming in 2 types. But there’s very little difference between them. Should probably just stick with one or the other. The service: lethargic. It took too long for a waitstaff to take our order, the place was not so busy, and it gets frustrating to sit there waiting while you see other employees standing around having a good chat amongst themselves. Wife and I devoured our basket of chips, was asked if we’d like another, we said yes, but they didn’t bother to bring it out until they brought out our order, at which point the chips are pretty pointless. Also, it took too long for our food to come out. The food: very good. Ordered mole enchiladas, wife got carne asada. Her asada came with grilled nopalito, which were amazingly nicely spiced. My mole was more richly flavored than you typically can get, which is the whole point to mole. We both very much enjoyed the food. Value for money: OK. I’ve seen better, but it’s still a much better value than you get at those crappy chain mex restaurants. 2 stars. With standard service, you’d have 3 stars. With great service, and a little bit better thinking on the chips and salsa, could be 4. Absolutely worth trying once to see if you like it.

Cute little mexican restaurant in Alvin, TX. Expansive menu of option. They must have near 25 meat options on the menu for your tacos, Tortas, burritos, chimichangas, ect. Good chips, but not amazing. Salsas are very good, especially the one served warm. Very spicy! Everything we ordered was quite tasty and authentic. I enjoyed my meal enough that I would go back if in town.

Damn my partner for not listening on the first day when I wanted to eat here. The food was better than other places in town, that for sure! I had Taco’s Al Pastor, but they had every authentic meat you could get and I even liked the salsa. Quesadillas are mad large and flavor is great. Service was spot on too.

I had a taste for some enchiladas, and was told to try Casa Olé. Fat chance of that happening. I was wanting something other than a chain based mostly in small towns. Drove by a few Mexican restaurants until I spotted one with a lot of cars at it. I knew it had to be a local favorite. I opened the door and caught a whiff of some cleaner and mexican food. A good sign in my mind. It was pretty packed. Mind you, it was around 9:45 at night. I grabbed a menu and sat on a bench I assumed was for to go customers. The place was clean, and they has the specials listed on a board. The guy at the front was polite, and when I told him about my previous suggestion of Casa Olé, he just laughed and laughed. I ordered a quesadilla, which was one of the specials. I also ordered the Texas plate. Both came with rice, guacamole, and beans. The Texas plate consisted of enchiladas and carne guisada. My order came out quickly, and I left. Made it back to my room, and tried the quesadilla. It was meaty, cheesy bliss. Of course it was immediately snatched up by my boyfriend. Oh well, at least I got to enjoy a piece. It was well-seasoned and tasty. The cheese enchiladas were just okay. Very small and swimming in a very mild chili sauce. They were topped with some yellow type of cheese. The carne quisada and dry. I couldn’t even get my plastic fork to penetrate it. The flavor reminded me of mold wolf brand chili. Very disappointing. The rice was decent with lots of vegetables and the beans were really good. Both the green and the red salsa were very mild and lacking in flavor. Very American. Overall a decent, above average joint. By the way, stopped for a breakfast burrito the next morning. Really good! Not for people kinda hungry. You must be starving to attempt!!! Big and good in a very manly way. I just passed it on to my boyfriend who wolfed it down. If you’re in the area, just give this place a try.

Good food(perfect for a hangover) at a fair price. Their tortas are generously filled, and they offer some traditional«Mexican» ingredients like lengua and nopales. Their pozole is good too — the perfect thing to warm you up on a cold Saturday. I also highly recommend their beef flautas.
