Wandered in to this place for a quick look around and my husband had to force me to leave. Next trip to Amarillo I am scheduling half a day just to shop in this store. Owner actually new people we know. Huge house used to be a boarding house and there were so many rooms I know I missed half of them. Great finds and wonderful prices! Can’t wait to go back.

This place is a maze, a maze filled with incredible amounts of treasures. I came here to find one sign that mentions route 66, and I was well served. There were lots of them, from the plastic license plates to an original sign selling for $ 750. The cashiers were very nice and helpful. If you have an hour to kill in Amarillo, this is a great place to do it.

The better of the two big shops on 6th street. Good inventory and new stuff in every time I come through. You can find anything from board games to furniture so plan on devoting a couple of hours to this place. The ladies at the front are nice. But be prepared because the hold firm to a store policy that prohibits negotiating price on anything less than 20 bucks. I’m not a big haggler but I would’ve been happier if I felt I had worked a deal. Still, I’ll take their prices over the other mall down the street anytime.

Alley KatZ has just about anything you could think of. It is a huge two story building with many, many rooms. I’ve found anything from vintage wedding dresses to sports memorabilia. It is a GREAT place to go whether just window shopping or actual shopping.

Inspired by the Georgia O’Keefe Museum in Santa Fe, I entered Alley Katz in order to find a steer skull while on a recent cross-country trip. The selection of goods was amazing(especially for those into Elvis memorabilia). The owners/workers were very friendly, funny, and helpful. My only complaint was with one of their vendors. The skull that I did end up buying had a sun-bleached tag that ever-so-faintly read«$ 25.» When the owners called the woman who was consigning the sale to get a price for the skull(as they were unable to read the tag), she upped it to $ 40. While the price was still a steal(now that southwestern décor is all the rage, thanks to Urban Outfitters, a skull runs you anywhere from $ 50-$ 175), I think the repricing was a bit unfair. Overall, though, I was pretty happy with the experience!
