Not a whole lot of options, the teriyaki sauce wasn’t even close the traditional sauce. Didn’t like how they made the fried rice, the wanton was just cream cheese no flavor, Just the taste of bitter cream cheese. Overall did not like.

We ordered Chop Chop late in the evening for dinner. This experience has hindered us eating this food category for awhile, The food was very bad like negative one star. We had ordered different meats, chicken, combination, etc… When we opened the boxes to figure out who’s was who’s it was hard to differentiate because all the meat looked the same brown old and gross, the rice looked very old as well.

. So I love chop chop it’s one of my old high school destination s for lunch. But it really pisses me off that just because I have no mixed veggies in my rice my order gets pushed to the back. I orders 30 minutes before I got there it wasn’t ready the I wait for 45 more minutes because the managers and cooks keep grabbing my ticket and push it to the back. That’s real shit. Just because it slows it down by five minutes to make my meal there going to keep me here for an hour. This is ridiculous! Tell you managers to severe the people in the order they came!

All around bad. Emailed in order, When I arrived at drive through, I waited !5 minutes; before the drive through employee asked if I had a call in order. I said yes; then he handed me a bag of food. I was upset that I had waited so long, and he hadn’t even apologized. When I drove away, I saw that my receipt had someone elses name and wasn’t my order. I returned to the drive thru and had to wait another 15 minutes behind 2 vehicles. When I got to the window; the kid who had previously gave me the wrong food, now gave me my order without any bit of apology. I couldn’t let this go; so I asked for Manager. I waited 5 minutes at the drive through waiting for this request. I communicated my problem; and the female manager asked me to repeat the problem, as if she didn’t believe me. I explained that I wanted my credit card reimbursed due to the total lack of acceptable service. She took care of this. All in all, I wasted 45 minutes of my life that I can never get back.

We went back to chop chop for the first time in 4 years today. We heard it was under new ownership and loved their new sauce varieties. The food was fresh, tender, and amazing. I had the beef with the orange saracha sauce. The orange saracha sauce was flavorful and added the perfect punch to meal. This was the best japenese style cuisine I have had in Amarillo in a long time. I recommend everyone go and give chop chop a new try with the new ownership. You will not be disappointed.

Last try I gave. I ordered a delivery order even though I am in the same shopping center. I called about 35min-ish after placing the order to see if it was coming… I was told that it was placed for pick up. Great. So they brought it over. I open the container and it literally was all steamed rice with like 4 cubes of steaks and 4 cubes of chicken. So glad I just paid $ 10 alone for a container of white rice. I walk over to see if it was possible to get a little more meat… Mind you I have NEVER done this ever… I was just really ticked that I laid that much for no food practically!!! The guy looked at me like I was stupid, gave the container to the other guy behind him and walked away! He asked me what he wanted me to do… Give me more? And I asked if I was crazy or is the amount of meat in there normal… He sis t say anything and said he would make another one. I get the new one, come back to my office, open it… And it’s the same as when I walked in. Thank you chop chop for stealing $ 12 from me and treating a customer like I was an idiot. I will Not be back, no matter how convenient your location is.

There are so many truly great restaurants in Amarillo, and Asian ones that, I could not suggest you skip this one more. The dish’s we ordered were not difficult to make, yet were so unremarkable and disappointing. The people were not friendly at all. They are located at the end of a strip mall and parking can be hard to find. Try something else with the higher star rating.

If I could rate this resturant in negative stars I would. Unless you are used to eating processed MSG ladened food this should not be considered as a place to eat. The food was really bad. I ordered takeout so I have no experience with the service but the quality of the food is horrible. My husband and I both had stomach trouble if you get my drift. NOT worth your money/time/tastebuds/health. SOGROSS!

I ate here the other day and it was amazing. I seen reviews of bad tasting and long waits, but that’s not the case when I went. It is a very good price for what they give. I was hesitant to go because of the reviews, but glad I took the risk. Anyone who likes tasty rice with chicken, steak or shrimp, this is a good affordable place. Don’t listen to the comments below. I’m actually going again today. Can’t beat the price and portions! Plus they have some sides that are tasty as well!

So I read the reviews prior to eating here and I almost didn’t go. I figured I would try it, maybe the others reviewers went on an off day. Well it was just as bad as the reviews, the steak was entirely too salty, the rice over cooked, and just had an odd flavor over all… Tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge as a leftover for a couple of days!

I’ve had their food in the past and its not bad. They delivery which is their appeal for me. But now while trying to order through the internet their system is funky. They ask for a tip then say that you should tip the driver. Who am I tipping the first time? Secondly, if you want to use a credit card then you might need to just call them cause this is apparently the early 2000s. Your shitty website lost my business.

Don’t listen to the naysayers. This place is awesome. Affordable, healthy food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff make it a must go for me. Only complaint would be minor, but it could stand to be bigger inside. Never had a delivery order that was late either, they’ve always been early. Love the menu selection and I definitely recommend the fish with udon noodles.

This place has changed for the better since their early years. This is an excellent fast casual restaurant if you are in the mood for Japanese on the go. The rice is addictive, the menu simple, and always a fun experience. I make this a regular late night meal for nights I don’t want to cook.

There are times in your life when you experience food so bad that you wish you could sue the restaurant for assault on your tastebuds! Chop chop thinks that they are Japanese cuisine? You have got to be kidding! The food I ordered took to long to get. 4 people came in after I did and they all received their food before I did. The food was too expensive and it was over salted and the meat… well the meat tasted like what I would imagine dog would taste like. Inedible swill! If you ever want to try this place take 40.00 out of your wallet and light it on fire. It will be much easier than dealing with the staff and the food at this crap establishment! I would give negative stars if that were an option!

This place is horrendous. The rice is mushy, the chicken dry, and the shrimp tastes extra fishy. The only good thing on their menu are the wontons, but hopefully you’re not hungry, as they are the size of a dime and come in an order of 4. Overall the food is very bland and not really even worth the cheap price.

Sorry excuse for Asian fusion cuisine. Bland. Also insulting. These people seem to think that Bruce Lee is Japanese! And for fuck’s sake, «flied lice» is on the menu. What the hell! No thanks. IMPORTANTUPDATES!: I’ve just been messaged by one of the operators, who took exception to the word«fusion» in my above review, among other things. I was trying to be nice, but I have no further options left than to assume that these people actually think they serve Japanese food. And apparently, they *do* know Bruce Lee isn’t Japanese, but I guess that doesn’t stop them from being a part of the greater group of American idiots perpetuating the idea that«Asian» is a singular culture made up of interchangeable subcultures. And whether or not flied lice is on the menu ANYMORE, it’s pretty tawdry to rip off Mr. Miagi as some kind of culture emissary when you’re thinking of what to name your menu items. Good grief. On second thought, it could work IF there was anything to telegraph cheeky self-awareness or kitch, but there’s not. Hooray, I hate this place even more! Lucky for this business it’s not in an area where there are many people of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and other«Asian» cultural backgrounds. Because the folks I know from those cultures don’t tend to like the implication that«Asian» is «Asian» and they’re all the same… NEWSFLASH! Jackie Chan and Confucius aren’t Japanese, either! Idiots.

My experience with Chop Chop isn’t nearly as remarkable. The main ingredient seems to be onions– my house reeked of onions days after we got Chop Chop to go. Flavor was average– all in all, a poor attempt at a ‘Kabuki’ style meal. There are many better options in Amarillo, and in your grocers freezer!
