One of our favorite places :) another great dining experience tonite. We ordered two sushi rolls, the fly eagle and the the spider roll. Both were fresh and delicious. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and the meat was tender and juicy. The rice and vegetables were cooked perfectly.

Food is good and hibachi chefs are fun! Compared to other hibachi restaurants in town, this is preferred. Prices are right!

A friend and I(and my daughter) went to Tokyo for lunch during the week. No wait, seated quickly. Spacious seating area, doesn’t feel crowded. For appetizers we ordered the«YumYum shrimp» eh, it was ok. Basically fried shrimp in a light s&s sauce atop Long John Silver crunchies(not a bad thing). Next up, the soup, which was the usual broth with a few mushrooms — but a little more flavorful than most. I ordered the vegetable fried rice — excellent, and they include broccoli, which most Japanese restaurants around here do not. My daughter got the chicken, great as well, the sauce is thicker than I expected and very good. Our chef was entertaining and enthusiastic(a little clumsy, but it worked haha). Service was quick. Portions were very adequate but not so huge that you HAVE to take home leftovers. Price was very reasonable. I do have to agree with a few other reviewers about feeling a little rushed at the end of the meal. It was almost closing time and they make it obvious they want to get everyone out. That would be the only downside. Not a big deal though, we will be back.

The hibachi steak and fried rice is really good. They have a lunch special everyday including weekends. The service was great! And the cook was entertaining as well. We ordered sushi was good and fresh. Recommend trying you won’t be disappointed.

If you enjoy Hibachi restaurants, this is the place to be!!! Quality Japanese food, great service, and all for a great price! Their portions are huge! The lunch menu is served with soup, salad, fried rice and vegetables, the dinner menu comes with all the same plus noodles. I always have plenty to eat and usually come home with half a to-go box full for later. The fried rice has the BEST flavor!!! They really put a lot of love into their rice — some places serve fried rice that is hardly more than steamed rice with vegetables, but NOT at Tokyo. The meat is always super tender and always cooked perfectly, steaks are always cooked to the temp ordered, I order medium rare which is hard to get around here, almost everyone over cooks beef. My absolute favorite thing is the Gyoza appetizer! They serve the best Gyoza in town — the wrappers are always crisp and perfectly cooked, there is a good amount of filling, and the dipping sauce is unique and very tasty. If you haven’t tried this little gem, run, don’t walk!

I visited this establishment yesterday for diner, it was recommended by a close friend of ours and we really like and try all sorts of Asian food. The restaurant is conveniently located in a shopping strip with easy access on Bell and 45th with plenty of parking available. Upon entering, the place is reasonably spacious with nice if simple décor. The smell of food was amazing. Our first contact was at the door, where a waitress«greeted» us with the words-«for two?». No hello, or welcome… service went downhill from there. We dined on a regular table, not on the grill teppanyaki table. First the food… We ordered a california roll to try and was not good for a Japanese place, I can get about the similar taste from a United Supermarket roll-is possible other rolls be better but we did not try any others since were here for other food. We ordered two combination meals, those were actually good; one was steak and lobster, another was shrimp and scallops. The proteins were cooked right and very tasty, the noodles were just average, the fried rice was good but not great as I was told by others. The shrimp appetizer never made it to our table, so two grilled shrimps were tossed on top of our plate-not what I was expecting for the price. The soup, we had to ask for it as they also forgot about those; the broth was actually quite tasty. To be fair, the food was good but not something that I would rate as above other offerings in town. Now for the REALLY bad part of our experience-the service… or lack thereof. Upon arrival to the restaurant, we did not feel welcome at all, rather felt we were annoying the waitress that sat us down; not a hello, a welcome or even a smile. Her behavior became downright rude from here on, asking for the drink order she ignored questions and insisted on the drink order as the only acceptable interaction. When asked about the menu options when it was time to order, she behaved as if she was annoyed by our questions, gave us terse answers while looking annoyed. When the food came, the plates were thrown onto the table in a very rude fashion, honestly we stayed because we were quite hungry. The throwing food plates on the table and rushing away behavior was consistent throughout the entire visit. I can understand being short handed and rushing, but being rude to the point of making your customers unwelcome is totally UNACCEPTABLE no matter how good your food may be. Regarding the service, we both felt VERY uncomfortable during our entire stay in this place and needless to say, we will not come back nor we will recommend it to any of our friends either. I rarely write negative reviews but this was among the WORST dining experiences I’ve had in a long time and everyone deserves to be warned about the TERRIBLE service here.

It like going to kabuki or Sakura minus the atmosphere and the large prices. The fried rice, soup, and sushi is really good. –Daniel–

This is my second time visiting this establishment. I was reluctant to go a second time since my wife and I weren’t very impressed with the grease trails in the carpet the first time but, I was out voted by my coworkers so I went again. The second time around the rugs seemed a little cleaner but that wasn’t enough to make up for the horrible attitude from the wait staff… We were not allowed to sit at our table until the entire party showed up. This might seem petty, but no other restaurant has a problem seating you regardless if your party is complete or not, and I would totally understand not seating us, if this were one of those places that’s just exploding with business and there’s people lined out the door, but it’s not. The food is a solid 4, the show was good, the servers attitude horrible. Overall this would be a solid 4 if the wait staff didn’t do such a disservice to the cooks.

The fried rice is original Japanese & very tasty. Pot stickers & spring rolls are perfectly cooked. Ask for rare steak & it comes out perfectly medium-rare. Very good value for the price!

For an appetizer we ordered vegetable tempura and it was not good. The batter was not tempura batter, it was typical beer batter and the worse part was they didn’t have tempura dipping sauce, so they gave us sweet and sour sauce. When we asked they didn’t know what we were talking about. The waitresses were not at all friendly, just there to do their job. Kind of made us uncomfortable. The chef was awesome. He was a typical teppanyaki chef that sliced and diced and was entertaining in the process. He is the only reason why I am giving the 2 stars.
