Red River Steakhouse

Good steaks, not great. Service gets 5 stars, our waitress was super attentive without being intrusive. The free cup of cobbler at the end of dinner was a nice surprise. Also enjoyed the complimentary fresh rye bread.

The service was great to bad we couldn’t say the same for the food. The steak was over done and dry, the bread was still doughy. I doubt we’ll make a repeat visit. The prices are a little high too.

While visiting from CA, my sister took us to this steak house. Our server, April, did a fine job making certain that everything was as we ordered. The filet & rib eyes were cooked to medium rare perfection. The atmosphere was casual and had the look you would expect of a Texas steakhouse serving steaks with an excellent flavor. Also, we happened to eat on a night when we were served free peach cobbler.
You won’t be disappointed @ the Red River Steak House.

First, the steak (I got a ribeye) was quite flavorful. Appetizer (rattlesnake eggs, aka jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon) was nicely prepared. Wedge salad was swimming in dressing and nothing special.
Next, the service was rushed. App and salad came out at the same time. I was not done with either when the steak arrived. Waitress was willing to take it back and keep it warm. But just situationally unaware of pacing a meal.
Finally, ambience wasn’t perfect. Spent most of my meal staring at two tables with dirty dishes and food on them. The bus person must have been sick. Also, staring at artwork of a cowboy praying to a cross was somewhat annoying. Not everyone is of the same religion and wants to have religion imposed on them while dining.
Might be back because the steak was good… or maybe not. I had high hopes for this place based on word of mouth from a long time local resident.

Delicious food! Great service! Love the atmosphere! Cobbler is to die for! Potato soup is the best ever! Juicy steaks!

We went with a party of 4. The service want bad, even though it was really busy. I did have to ask a few times for a refill and my wife never got a refill, after asking multiple times. I asked for ketchup and she had to find a table that wasn’t using it because it was literally the only bottle in the restaurant. I found that funnier than sad.
The appetizers are great but way overpriced.
Everyone at the table ordered steaks. They were cooked perfect and had great flavor, but again, overpriced. If I order a $ 30 steak, it should blow my mind. Literally, the best thing there are the French fries.
I would go again if there was a reason to, such as a dinner party or an event. Otherwise, I’d go to Longhorn.
