We went to dinner at Embers for our anniversary last year & it was delicious. My husband had the prime rib & I ordered a steak. They were both perfectly cooked & well seasoned. We really enjoyed our meal & the service. We will definitely return.

«Date night» here at Embers. The ambience here is kind of a rustic lounge atmosphere. The service was great, the waiter was very attentive and helpful. We started off with squigglies, which are basically onion strings, and were about the same as you would get anywhere else. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was quite a bit spicier than I expected, but was still good. My instinct was not to order fish at a steakhouse, and I kind of wish I had followed it because my wife’s ribeye tasted much better. The Green Chile Mac and Cheese was a highlight for me, I liked it more than my entrée. For dessert, we ordered the turtle cheesecake, which was very good. Overall a nice evening which we want to repeat at some point. It wasn’t a knock your socks off type dinner, but still a nice, classy place to enjoy a steak dinner.

Went for lunch and got a prime rib sandwich, everything else was good but my main order. Prime rib wasn’t cooked right or cut up. Just a big hunk of meat thrown in the middle of soggy bread. If I wanted to cut up my food I would have ordered a steak. Asked the waitress about it and she just looked at me like I was an idiot. Steak might be good but the prime rib sure wasnt.

Get in early for a Sunday brunch. Because DANG. This place is awesome! Bit pricey for some meals, but honestly delicious and worth every penny. Embers has come recommended by a number of my friends in Lubbock and Amarillo. My husband and I went with another couple recently, and it was amazing. They offer complimentary rolls to start, and I would gladly fight you for another one of their pretzel rolls. They’re that good. The wait staff was really attentive and helpful, even warning us of the kitchen’s list of orders to make sure we got in before the rush of post-church tables came in! My husband and I ordered lunch burgers and my sister and her husband ordered breakfasty foods. They loved each of their omelets; they can out hot with a large entrée and a lot of the side! I ordered the burger with caramelized onions & swiss cheese with truffle mustards + added jalapeños. All loaded up on a pretzel bun. You better believe it was amazing. Sweet potato fries were awesome, too! I’ve heard that everything on the menu has been well-crafted by the owner & chef, and he experiments to come up with the best things possible. I believe it! Next time I’m in Amarillo, I will be coming back. It was awesome, and I highly recommend it!

I recently called to make a NYE reservation and was astounded by how rude the hostess was. She interrupted my request and in an annoyed tone informed me that reservations were not an option. I have eaten here before and the food is nothing to write home about. Much less so when you consider the horrible service. Very disappointing.

Embers — 8:00pm — 10.9.15 We arrived, greeted by the hostess, and seated immediately. Our server was prompt to come by and get drink orders. I asked him for his recommendation on a Bloody Mary, he said that the Samurai is highly popular, so that’s what I ordered. Travis had his usual Jack and Coke. Server brought waters out right away, bar drinks took a few minutes, as expected on Friday night. He also brought out their fresh bread, butter, and house spread(which is to die for). My Samurai Bloody Mary was AMAZING!!! It is your basic Bloody Mary jazzed up with Sriracha and soy sauce, rimmed with spices and garnished with a lime wedge and a fortune cookie — I thought that was an adorable twist. Loved it! For our appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Shrimp in Rice Paper with Pineapple Jalapeño Dipping Sauce. The app came out surprisingly quickly, like within 4 or 5 minutes. As usual, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The crisp rice paper adds a wonderful crunch and the spicy/sweetness from the pineapple jalapeño sauce is really a wonderful accompaniment. For my entrée I ordered the Steakhouse Pasta with Chicken. The dish came out steaming hot and smelled amazing. The chicken was a plentiful portion, grilled and sliced… But it seemed to be lacking salt as the pieces were rather bland besides the grill flavor. Luckily the pasta sauce was flavorful enough to make up for it! Creamy, rich, wonderful consistency and texture, I really enjoyed the pasta sauce, the mushrooms were my favorite. It also had an incredible black pepper flavor which always makes me happy. The portion size was just right for me, plenty of food and not so much left over that I feel obligated to take it home. Travis ordered the 2721 Burger(medium) which is topped with bacon, cream cheese and jalapeños, with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was presented beautifully, towering on the glistening pretzel bun. After Travis ate into about ½ the burger he realized that it was too rare for his taste(it was maybe even a hair rare for my taste, on the cool side of medium rare). He had already eaten a good portion so he didn’t want to send it back, he just left the very center of the burger behind. This is where my only issue with service came in… Travis and I swapped entrees so that we could experience each other’s food. I ended up getting a huge bite of jalapeño and it LITMEUP! Mind you, these are fresh jalapeños sliced into coins with seeds and ribs intact. I love heat, but I drained my water and our server never came back to refill it — and that spicy Bloody Mary wasn’t an option to cool my palate. Luckily Travis still had about half a glass of water that he passed it to me. The server actually didn’t come back over until we were completely through eating. It was by no means BAD service, but it takes 30 seconds to stop by with a water pitcher and sitting with empty drinks for 10+ minutes is just not normal in my opinion. I still left a 16%ish tip, he was great until the last half of the meal. We got our for just over $ 60, not bad for a night out with drinks! We always love Embers. There were a couple missteps tonight but that won’t deter us from returning!

I was in Amarillo for business a few weeks ago. This place was recommended to me, so I went. I decided to go for lunch and tried the prime rib sandwich. When it arrived it was the size of a dinner portion you might pay $ 30.00 during a dinner service. The prices are affordable and the food is top notch!!!

Traveling on I-40 through Amarillo and checked Unilocal for a good steakhouse. Decided to try Embers and glad we did, this is not a good steakhouse it’s GREAT. The best steak I’ve had in a while and the deep fried baked potato is a treat. The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very nice. I highly recommend stopping when you are in the area.

I am truly excited to write a review on Embers! AMAZING! Great service, great food, great wine and a great ambiance! I usually don’t eat red meat… Just a preference thing for me. I figured, heck… I’m in Texas! So I got the Prime Rib… Very delicious!!! My side choice was the chipotle sweet mashed potatoes! The sweet mixed with spicy was so delicious it inspired me to try the Jalepeno Pinapple Cheesecake! Let me tell you, I have never made a better decision in my life. Besides the food our server was great! Very suggestive and as you can tell he knew what he was talking about! My tastebuds are thoroughly satisfied! So pleased!

The food is $$$$ quality at at $$ price — Don’t Let the $$$ Fool Ya! Was out from Cali driving cross country and had to get a steak in TEXAS. Popped off the 40 took a turn here and made a right there and was able to take an order on the road. Between the steak(which makes Cali beef taste like ground round!) and the chicken(which makes our chicken look dry) the mac and cheese, potato and salad it was ashamed I didn’t have time to sit because I ENJOYED it either way. This meal would easily have cost me $ 75 in Cali minus tip; I paid near 45 with a hefty tip — nuff said. Take care Embers team and hope to see you again soon, Cali could use kind people like y’all!

We were traveling through and found this great local place. Very clean, great wine selection. Waitress was great. Especially loved the wedge salad. Up there with some of the best I’ve had. We like to visit local businesses when traveling. Would definitely stop by when in area.

I had the cowboy ribeye and, my gosh, it was remarkably good. The locals are right– it’s one of the best steakhouses in town! Just looking at the desserts made my mouth water! Get there quick, you’ll love it too…

We drove from Flagstaff, Ar to Amarillo today through miles of endless desert. I can’t tell you what it means to find a restaurant like the Embers Steak House at the end of. A long day of driving. Delicious prime ribs, fresh asparagus, smashed potatoes, The Best. Very professional waiter and lovely owner! Thank you Embers Steak House Susan C.

I really needed a good steak, a short break, & a drink. Checked Unilocal & found Embers. Yay. I got a very good bartender(Dave), a great ribeye, & High West Double Rye. Mac n cheeseawesome too. Salad was a typical Texas salad(in TX, only Sweet Tomatoes has more than lettuce, tomato, shaved carrots. & onions), but no surprise there. Want some protein, fat, & great flavor? You’ll do fine here.

Nice little gem tucked away in Amarillo! We’ve lived here 1.5 years and came across this restaurant for the first time, tonight. Only gave it 4 stars, because we felt price/portion were a bit off. However, outstanding service and excellent food with a quaint atmosphere will be our reason to return! Very nice to have the owner visit your table during your experience, just to make absolutely certain everything is perfect.

Stopped along our Route 66 trip for a nice dinner, since our group of 12 were getting tired of fast food. I had the best prime rib! The cut was thick, juicy and done to perfection according to Texas standard of medium rare! Yum! It came not just with a baked potato but with a deep fried bake potato. OMGosh! The skin was crisp and the potato inside was fluffy and had a different flavor than just baked potatoes have. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Our server was fast and efficient, very friendly and helpful. We ordered a number of desserts to share at our table so I was able to taste a few and they were delicious.

This place is amazing. If you are from out of town don’t waste your time at the big Texan which is an icon in amarillo but the food isn’t as good and you wait at least an hr to sit. This place has awesome servers, it’s great for kids and their food is great. Hidden jewel to go to. A+++
