Family friendly, very good food! Also a bakery attached. Great stop for a trip to the area.

Really great food for the most part! I wouldn’t order the calf fries again(mine were too thick and they didn’t get cooked all the way through) however the rest of the food was great! They have a nice salad bar as well. My husband loved the chicken fried steak and I enjoyed the soup of the day. We went one other time also and the food was great, but it slips my mind what we ordered. Friendly staff and a bakery attached for a sweet snack on your way out.

I stopped by after reading the Unilocal reviews. I had breakfast eggs warm, sausage luke warm, potatoes cold, biscuits and gravy warm, when I complained about the potatoes they said they were fixing others finished what I could never seen the waitress again. I won’t be giving them another chance. Very dissatisfied !

Went for breakfast. Food was mediocre and same with the prices. Not outrageous but not exactly a bargain either. My portion of ham was miniscule and omelets on smaller side as well. There are certainly worse places to go but conversely there are also better places.

Food is okay but the service is horrible if you don’t just order some bbq that they just have to slice up. Just ordered some fried catfish and had to wait over 35 minutes! Then the fried catfish wasn’t even crispy. We’ll never be back and would NOT recommend it!

Amazing sliced brisket & sausage. Sauces are excellent. If you like a sweet sauce go with the Shiner. Boss sauce has a nice bite to it.

Great place! Greeted by friendly service and an extensive menu. I had the Ghost Rider burger and it tasted great. I’d love to return and try some of their other items… brisket fries, wildfire grilled cheese, green chile stew… ranch cooking at its finest

Really great service and excellent food. The owner was super friendly and talkative and even gave us some free blackberry cobbler. We were just passing though on our way to Colorado and wanted a bite to eat and I’m glad we found this place.

This place is one of the best Texas style restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Every thing my family ate was great. The beer was cheap and the employees are friendly. Go here for the best BBQ in Amarillo hands down. Great dessert place right there in the building. It will be one of our regular eateries from here on out.

I travel all over Texas and people always talk about how great their bbq is and I leave disappointed. Today when I walked into trail boss i was more than satisfied. The chopped beef is excellent and the jalapeño cheddar sausage was exceptional. I would have no reason to go to any other places for bbq in Amarillo.

Great food, the owner is awesome and gave us some samples for breakfast. One of our party(there were 10 of us) was a young girl and she wanted ribs for breakfast. The owner said«let me see if I can find one that is done». He did, and gave it to her on the house! The brisket and pulled pork is tender and tasty, sausage is good to. Wait staff is very friendly. We had breakfast and dinner and both were very good. On the non-food side, TBRC is clean, friendly and fast. Another plus, there is a bakery attached to the restaurant in case you want some treats. Recommended!

I have been here several times few times for dinner & breakfast. Let me tell you the food here is amazing, it is made to order. The way it works is you order at the counter then they bring you your food. April 2: We came with my boyfriend, boyfriend’s mom & step dad(Lefors, TX), my parents(San Diego, CA) his son & me. I honestly don’t remember what we had individually because everyone scarfed down the food before I remembered to take photos. In addition to our food, we ordered beers(Shiner Bocks). Everyone continues to talk about even my parents that are from San Diego. March 29: We came here for breakfast the morning after my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the best decision made that day. I forgot what I had but I took photos of my boyfriend(Campfire Scramble) and his son breakfast plates(LiL Buckaroos: French Toast) March 25: We wanted to try this place because we heard so many great reviews. For dinner he had 3 Meat(pulled pork, chopped brisket, & jalapeño sausage) his order came with trips to the salad bar, I had Lil Eats with pulled pork & traditional mac & cheese. I also ordered a side of Chili. The chili tasted a tad spicy for me however my boyfriend loved it. They have three different homemade hot sauces, all of which taste delicious. Every time we came or drove past this food establishment, it’s always busy. They give first responders a discount(see photo)! For those geocachers… That need their fix, turn on your GPS

Good ‘ol country cooking, made from scratch meals… smoked BBQ, side dishes and all u-can eat salad bar. Awesome bakery too, similar to Zippys. The owner(Roy) walked around to each table to greet, chat and thanked us for coming to visit. Come hungry and roll out content. $ 30.

A third generation rancher in his 70s had me meet at Trail Boss for lunch yesterday. It was Great! He had a ribeye, I had a sirloin that was among the top steaks I’ve ever eaten. Their salad bar was fresh, delicious, and the meatloaf soup was real meatloaf with new potatoes and fine broth. A meal on its own. The sweet potato fries were hands down the best I’ve eaten, a little thicker than pencil size that holds the flavor and moisture that are missing elsewhere! BBQ at another table had me get some Angus brisket and a rack of pork ribs to bring home. My «beef picky» wife wolfed the brisket, the dry rub on both is outstanding. Yep, fork tender. I’ll finish this and go make the last two ribs disappear. See you at Trail Boss next time I’m within a hundred miles! Thanks Roy!

Can’t stop thinking about how good our breakfasts were there this weekend. So good I feel it was really worth a 5 star rating and the title of «Best breakfast» in Amarillo! We will be back soon and with our friends.
