Drury Inn & Suites – Amarillo

This place is awesome! I love all of the amenities like the food and drinks and popcorn. The price is a bit high but you get so much when you stay here. Everything is clean and comfy. My dogs and I stayed here and my only problem was the carpet. My dogs toe nails got caught in the looped carpet, making it impose for her to walk in the room. We had to lay a blanket on the floor so she could walk around. Otherwise, great stay and great hotel!

I really enjoyed my stay here. First the staff is amazing, they keep everything clean. There is a lot of comfortable seating through out when you want to just be out of your room. I shared a room with three grown men (my husband and two boys) but the room was very comfortable and roomy. And the bathroom was also very big and clean. We loved that they allow pets and there were no odor problems of any previous pets. Plenty to choose from the breakfast area.

Be careful… the rate they quote when you check in may change… it appears are set by occupancy… and therefore it can change… After I checked in and was quoted a price, the discout (senior) was not added. The front desk the next morning first had to check what the final rate was based on occupancy… as for the «satisfaction gauranteed» promise… beed I say more… there are lots of hotls in the immediate area of this hotel… choose another and save yourself some gruef!

No complaints. Room was clean, staff was very friendly, and breakfast was standard issue hot hotel breakfast. Wifi worked well. Staying at the drury in Columbus as well because of the quality here, and the bull*hit service I got at other hotel chains. Price point may have been just a smidge too high for what you get. But I’ve had worse experiences for more money before.

The staff was friendly and the bed was ok. That’s about it! Our room smelled like an outhouse, the water alternated between hot and cold, there was a large damp spot on our carpet and the blow dryer stopped working in the middle of drying my hair! Glad we were only there for one night!!!

I really like this hotel! Only problem is the noise at night. The noise from the Interstate is terrible and we didn’t sleep well at all! Hotel is nice with a nice pool area. Evening reception is a great perk as well. They also allowed a late checkout! Rooms are a bit small and décor looks old even though hotel was built in 2007!

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on one leg of our trip and had an awful experience, so I canceled our return stay and booked with Drury Inn instead. SO glad I did. The only bad thing that I can say about it is just a superficial one, the rooms are a tad outdated. Other then that, I was really impressed and thankful for the comfortable bed. Very affordable too.

Our very favorite place to stay in Amarillo texas! You need to call ahead if you plan to stay here cause it fills up fast. The lobby is beautiful! The people who work their are beautiful. That’s how you feel after a long long drive when the staff is super kind and helpful. The rooms are so comfortable beds are great. I have to mention their shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are in despensers in the shower don’t know how I feel about that but you don’t run out when 3 family members wash their hair. They have a nice indoor pool. But the way out of the norm is free breakfast, dinner and dinner drinks. My kids love the pop corn and soda fountain at checkin. On nice thing is the pet friendly policy. People had animals of all sizes all around us and we didn’t hear a peep.

Great location! Best side of town! Lots of places to eat, some you walk to and others a short drive!

Free dinner, great choices to eat for adults and kids! Your meal comes with three alcohol drinks and soft drinks for kids! Free breakfast! You can fill your cups of free water and drinks!
When you walk in, you will be thrilled with your choice!
The rooms have nice beds, not hard, not soft, just right! Furniture is in great shape! Large HD Tv! Bathroom is middle size and might be small for others! If you have a lot of stuff to take into the bathroom, then it will feel small! Rooms are very clean!
If you want to go to the famous 72oz steak restaurant, hotel will send you there for free in a llimo with horns on the front!
Your internet is free and so it long distance calls!
The pool is indoor! It’s okay and the work out room is very small!
The people at the front desk are very friendly! This is a great choice, you will be happy with your choice! The price was fair! I don’t feel it was over priced!
There are pets at hotel! I didn’t hear dogs bark or make sounds in rooms! I didn’t smell any pet smells in hotel or the room i checked into! So no worries about pets staying here! Did notice people took their dogs out to walk and do their business! The grounds and sidewalks were clean of dog mess!
When you close curtain, there is three, two up front, look behind, you will find the curtain that blocks out light!

This hotel was awesome! My boyfriend, my dog, and I are traveling across country and stayed here for the night. After a 12 hour car ride this hotel was the perfect place to crash. The front desk clerk, Jake, was THE NICEST person we’ve run into so far at any hotel we’ve stayed at. He was there at 11 at night and was very peppy and helped us find somewhere that delivers food and had all the qualities that a great staff member should have.
I recommend this hotel to anyone, especially with a dog, that likes great service and quality rooms.

I always try to book rooms at Drury hotels because they never disappoint. So last summer’s trip to Denver involved a stay at a Drury there. But this review isn’t about that particular stay, which was without complaint. On the way to Denver (and coming back to central Texas) my wife and I stayed at the Drury Inn and Suites in Amarillo. Accommodations on the first leg of the trip were without complaint, except for the smallish bathroom in our room that had me bumping the elbows on my long arms against every wall and corner. At check-​out the next morning, I mentioned this to a most cordial manager. DM suggested that she would give me a free room upgrade on the way back! I looked forward to seeing what would present itself then.
In the mile-​high city of Denver my wife and I visited relatives who lived there and we stayed at a Drury hotel. It happened that she got mountain sickness really bad! She could not wait to leave the city. I emailed ahead to the Drury in Amarillo in order to line up that free room upgrade promised by DM, the manager. And when we arrived at the Amarillo Drury Inn and Suites after a scenic, but uneasy drive, my wife was totally ready for sleep and only sleep. DM checked us in that evening, and handed me the key to the promised room upgrade which she described as «only one of four rooms like that.» Well, the room welcomed us and embraced us that one night! It was an irregular-​shaped room that happened to provide more space (and comfort) than normal ones; another thing, the bathroom was not painful to my elbows. My wife sleep well all night and beyond the normal check-​out time. The lodging on that night was definitely one of the highlights of last summer’s Denver trip!
Sorry to be so long-​winded in my praise of The Drury Inn and Suites in Amarillo and its manager DM. But it took me this long to report it.

With free breakfast and free «happy hour» that is family friendly, this place will save you time and money. Everything is respectably clean and rooms feature a micro fridge and microwave. While there are no little lotions and shampoos you can load up on, there is an indoor pool and the hotel is SUPER dog friendly. Walking distance to several restaurants, a movie theater and across the highway from the mall, this hotel is a sure bet when staying in Amarillo. My only complaint is they only give you 3 face towels in a room with 2 queen beds. We constantly had to ask for towels but the front desk is extremely nice and gave us everything we needed timely.

This place was great and I’m glad to have it in my repertoire of hotels for my next drive through here. The staff were all so friendly (I’d expect nothing less in TX). The breakfast and dinner with drinks make this one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for the price. The room was clean and odor free. It does smell like the stockyards outside, but I bet they call that scent «Amarillo» and it doesn’t smell like that once you get inside the hotel. I did not try the pool because it was on the smaller side, looked cloudy, and was always packed with kids. That is really the only downside I found here. I did not bring a pet, so I can’t speak for the pet rooms, but I generally avoid traveling with my animals.

This is basically the only place in town that’s nice and allows pets. We would definitely stay again!
The breakfast bar is HUGE and offers everything under the sun and they offer snacks throughout the day all for free!
You basically never have to leave the hotel if you REALLY a wanna save a buck on food or alcohol (yes the alcohol is free too).

Nice hotel. Rec’d a free upgrade to a suite and it was roomy and comfortable. Greg and Jake at the front desk were friendly and professional. Hotel is pet friendly with only a $ 10 fee.

We like Drury Inn because of its amenities, but for $ 160 a night after we we’re quoted $ 120 (desk clerk said $ 120 included the pet deposit. Apparently not.) over the phone when we made the reservation, I was not impressed. That’s too much money for this place. If it’s a new Drury, it didn’t look it to me. Our room reeked of dog pee (again, apparently not putting those pet deposit fees to good use). We love that they are pet friendly but, the smell of the room (101) was more reminisce of a $ 50 a night hotel.
Being Amarillo, outside smelled like a stock yard (makes ya wanna eat a big olé burger from the crappy joint next door).Took me 30 mins to find an ice machine (on the second floor no ice on the first floor). Never found a vending machine and the front desk clerk was completely overwhelmed. I on the other hand, completely underwhelmed.

Worst hotel EVER!!! It smells like cow manure all around outside. The front desk Clark’s manners were like warm. No room service. Restaurant closes early. And the cable went out leaving nothing to watch but Jerry Springer reruns and they can’t fix it until after I’m gone tomorrow. This place is a hell hole. I will NEVER come back here!!!

Loved this place! Stayed here while passing through and even though we arrived late at night they made us feel incredibly welcome. They set us up with an amazing suite for a great price at the last minute even though we were traveling with a dog. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated, but the best part was how incredibly comfortable their beds are to sleep in. I want one just like it for my home.
I may have to return to Texas one day just because of the great lodging available.

After our fiasco a couple of years ago staying at another chain hotel in Amarillo, we had high hopes for Drury Inn based on reviews, photos etc. Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that this place appeared to be a winner. It was clean and new outside and inside the lobby, the desk employees were dressed nicely and were very friendly etc. In short, a true «hotel» experience, rather than a «motel».
Moving up to our room, due to layout, we had a notable «hallway» inside of the door to get to the actual room; the flooring was a very nice granite tile that looked brand new. Inside the bathroom, the fixtures were all very new and clean. The carpet in the main area seemed clean as new as well. The bed was very comfortable, and an awesome reclining chair was present, making for a nice way to watch some TV on the flat screen, again (you guessed it), very new and in good repair.
The property has a bar and restaurant downstairs that we didn’t have time to visit, but they looked very nice. Our reservation included two free drinks at the bar per night during happy hour, but alas, we weren’t there during those times. There are some other restaurants nearby as well, so you’re not in the middle of nowhere in terms of dining.
We didn’t have any issues with noise or smells, although we did observe some guests taking advantage of the «pet friendly» aspect.
Bottom line, this was a great hotel for us, and I’d gladly stay here again on our next trip.
