A wonderful meal and out of the world service from Estella who continuously checked on the table and kept our drinks fresh and full. I recommend if you go to Furr’s Fresh Buffet you ask to be sat in her section. Wonderful experience.

My favorite restaurant ever. I’ve been eating there since I was a kid and I still can’t get enough. The variety alone justifies going. You’d spend just as much or more at Chilis or Friday’s or some other chain and get nowhere near the value you get at Furrs! The salad bar is extensive, there are close to a dozen entrees and even more sides. The permutations are nearly endless, desserts are great too.

I should have read the reviews before I went to eat there. It’s sad. Just happened to be near by and thought I would give it a try wish I had grabbed a sandwich at Jimmy Johns.

Our family(including a 3-yr old) stopped here for a quick 5:30pm dinner during our long drive/trip despite the other reviews. The food was fine, exactly what we expected for a Furrs. Chicken fried steak was eh, but all the other foods we tried were fresh and good. We have no complaints. Staff was nice and appropriate. Glad we went ahead and stopped here on our drive through the area.

Just a few short months ago, maybe 10 – 12, this became my new favorite place to eat. Salad bar was a little short of variety but acceptable. Entrée and veggies were very well prepared. Dessert was spectacular. Not any more. Sad to report one star to none on the following: service, cleanliness, all food and bread. The $ 14.00(senior price) was great for excellent food. Now I want my money back.

This evening we decided to stop in to Furrs to get some decent food with veggies, etc. Our expectations were not outrageous but even though, we were sorely disappointed! The food bars were poorly stocked and untidy! The food was fair at best. The waitstaff were very friendly but the manager was rude and unresponsive to complaints! He refused to turn down the AC, get food bars stocked, etc. This was the worst Furrs experience I have had in my 45 years!

I really miss the old furrs when the food used to Be so good and fresh. It’s so «processed» and just doesn’t have the taste and I’m sure the nutritional value it once had years ago. It’s cheap and ok if you are in a rush.

Stopped here recently while traveling on my job. Food is old and tired looking. They had a turkey breast for sliced turkey however nobody to do the cutting. Stood there forever. Asked for help however I guess I didn’t speak the right language. Finally after being ignored got fish instead. All fried crap very dried out. Wanted to get some spinach, turnip greens or broccoli but there was no cider vinegar at all. Got balsamic, red wine and basil vinegar. My meal today for the money was some cornmeal dressing. Yuck! Never again.

Do not eat here! I lived in TX for 17 years and frequently ate at Furrs. It was always good with fresh food and excellent choice, preparation and appearance. I was traveling thru TX and specifically sought Furrs out based on my very positive memories. I stopped at the Wolfin location. my wife had bake cod. The fish was dried out so bad you had to cut the fish with a knife and it was obviously old as it tasted very fishy. She ate one bite and that was the end of that. I ordered the chicken fried steak w/mashed and cream gravy. What I got was a small piece of meat that clearly needed to go through the tenderizer 5 or 6 more times because I could barely cut it with a knife. The breading was very thick and badly over seasoned.(I acknowledge this is a personal taste). The gravy was like water, no exaggeration! The potatoes were clearly instant because they were so mushy you would not have been able to eat them with a fork. THISISTEXAS! If you can’t get a CFS here you won’t get one anywhere! Sadly, you won’t get one here for sure. Furrs, if you bother to read this you need to forget trying to change you name from cafeteria to buffet and focus on getting the food back up to the level it used to be. Customers love new restaurants but they love good food even more. Invest you money in food, not expensive marketing and remodeling.

The food was just not great all around. Staff was friendly but that can’t make up for poorly prepared food. Didn’t really enjoy anything, wish I had a do-over with that choice and get my money back. Oh well, live and learn, not the end of the world.

We used to have a Furr’s in California just off of the 605 Freeway, but alas it’s now gone. I really liked the place and used to go there about once a month. I would have gone more often but because there is so much good food to be had there, I would have put on too much extra weight. I now have to wait for a cross-country trip and time my self through Amarillo in order to satisfy my Furr’s Jones. If you happen to be driving through Texas or one of it’s surrounding states and you see a billboard proclaiming a Furr’s at the next offramp, go ahead and cut off the semi if necessary to stop and load up. You’ll be thanking me with a nice card or a bottle of wine. It’s a, cafeteria and I for one, happen to like seeing the food that I’m about to eat. There is one price and you can basically haul off to your table all that you can fit on your tray. It’s basically Southern style food, and it’s good.

A friend took us here for lunch a few days ago. Our friend is elderly and he fit in well here. The crowd is mostly elderly or families with young kids. We were the only couple in our age group(30ish) without kids there. The wait staff is interesting. The women all seemed like bikers. They were friendly and efficient though. The food seemed fresh. I constantly saw employees putting out fresh food. I like the variety. I like having a bite of several different foods instead of having the same thing for the whole meal. It was priced okay although I expected it to be cheaper. For the 3 of us(2 adults and 1 senior) it came to $ 34. I could eat at Texas Road House for that price and have left overs.

Nice variety, great sweet tea, fresh offerings. The customers are, um, interesting, but enjoy the show. A great value if you’re hungry.
