English Field House Restaurant

Took my 14month old and he loved watching the planes! It was good food, we had burgers and chicken nuggets. People around us had fajitas that looked and smelt amazing! So we will be going back to try them and watch the planes again.

Food was sub par. The hollandaise sauce was not hollandaise sauce, it was yellow and that’s where the resemblence ends. Their idea of a monte cristo is french toast sticks with some overcooked meat in between. The service was not good, the waitress was inattentive and the food was overpriced for what you got. We’ll NEVER eat here again. Skip this crap palace.

I have eaten here several times in the past 2 years and I have never been disappointed. I have had most of the Tex/​mex dishes and I can’t finish them due to the size. The chips and salsa are top notch. May be the best I have had. The same wait staff have been there and they have always been busy beyond belief but friendly and quick.

I’m through with this place. I’ve been back a few more times since my original review and this place is going downhill fast. Labor Day holiday was super busy for breakfast and they only had one waitress. She was trying her best but we could not get coffee refills nor our check. Another customer grab the coffee pot and served us, thank goodness. Terrible.
Returned for breakfast on a non holiday Friday and again the service was poor even though there were two waitresses who were working hard. The coffee was weak and again we could not get coffee refills nor our check. And the food was mediocre.
And each time the indoor air quality is very bad. There is no ventilation from the grill.

Unilocal for the win. Just driving through and looking for a place to eat and stretch our legs with our two young boys. They LOVED watching the planes and so did we. The food I would say is more of 4 stars but it is still very good and prices are reasonable. I had the tacos which were tasty and the boys enjoyed their burgers and fries. The service was also excellent. The plane watching alone makes this place worth it!

We try to go here as often as possible. Our 2 year old son loves pigging out and watching the planes. Try the Country Eggs & French Toast, amazing!

I love Unilocal!How else would we land at this amazing little jewel of a restaurant on our way to Denver. Ordered the taco plate and my honey ordered the burrito supreme. Both were uniquely delicious and homemade Mexican. Yummy! Highly recommend as part of a road trip experience

Wow. What a gem! Great little restaurant right at the runway. Located next to the TAC Air terminal for those flying in for a quick fuel stop for their plane. Folks are friendly, Texas tea kicks booty and the food was outstanding. The portion size is very generous. Great little stop. Will stop again when I’m passing through.

The burrito was huge and delicious. The salsa was spicy and fresh. The soda came with that gravel-​shaped ice that’s so hard to find. Add in the cozy atmosphere and great service and this just became one of my favourite spots in Amarillo.
Edit: I returned two days later and the food and service were equally as great. The servers are just exceptional.

Don’t judge a book by its cover, this place isn’t that impressive to look at but let me tell ya, be ready to eat because your gonna get a lot of food /​a lot of bang for your buck. The staff is very friendly and professional as well.

Great place they are very fast super service. Good place for lunch when you have little time to sit and enjoy your meal.

By the airport options to eat are rare.
This certainly not a bad spot. It’s nice to see the planes take off by just looking thru the window.
Food is on the greasy side. Prices are correct for the amount/​quality.
Be prepared to smell oil the rest of the day.

We stopped in while ferrying an Astar from Montana to Houston. The place doesn’t look that impressive but the food was delicious. I had iced tea which was good, and a sandwich with feta cheese. I can’t remember the name of the sandwich but it was terrific. We both enjoyed lunch.
I highly recommend you stop in.

Super location and great wait staff! Food was good and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend as the location and view of the Airfield is unique.

One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had. A friend of mine and I were near the airport for a business meeting and we stopped for breakfast. He had eggs and ham that looked great. I had the Field omelette which had plenty of ground sausage and cheese. Just a simple diner with a very good breakfast.

Stopped in while our plane was being refueled. Great lunch! I had the steak salad which was really good. The chips and salsa were also excellent. Service was spot on and quick. I would definitely eat here again
without hesitation.

Go there with family and co workers quite frequently.
I recommend the Amarillo omelette.
FYI you might bump into a celebrity like I did. I heard he flies into Tac Air quite often.

I’ve only been for lunch, and it has always been excellent. The burgers are hard to beat, and priced right. Plus, the daily specials always seem to be top-​notch.
Great service, personable waitresses, a nice view of the air traffic, and interesting décor courtesy visiting pilots.
Classic mom and pop dining, and well worth a visit.

My son said it was the best burger he ever had. My chicken sandwich was delicious. Plus we got to see a copter land in front of us. Definitely fun and out of the ordinary.

A real treat and well worth the drive. If you love avocado as much as I do, English Field House is a find– you can get avocado on many items! I had the Cobb Sandwich (turkey, avocado, bleu cheese crumbles), while my co-​diner had the ABC burger (avocado, bacon, cheese). Great service from friendly servers, quick too! Big glasses of iced tea that never got close to empty. Enjoy watching the planes take off and land on the runway. Breakfast looked good too– I can’t wait to go back!
