Every neighborhood needs a good local bar. I have to travel a few towns over to get to mine. The folks of Ambler are a little better off, its right here. Friendly bunch of fellow beer drinkers, Eagles fans, couples, bunch of guys catching a drink after work, regulars all just looking for a comfortable joint on the way home. The MGT is all that, and then some. Not too shabby for a gin joint.

Wandered in on a Tues eve for a quick Guinness(to which they give a proper pour) and was entrapped by trivia night where a good time was had by all. I ended up leaving my car in the lot and walking 4 miles home. No more smoking inside but the enclosed patio is bigger than the main building so you can work on your metastasis without exposing yourself to the elements.

Update 7÷8÷13 An outside patio has been added and its not a bad spot to grab a drink. They have several high top tables and a large flat screen on the wall. Smoking is still allowed inside. The unmistakable smell of cigarette smoke fills the air as you shuffle into this old school wood paneled bar in Maple Glen. You either love this place or hate it. I don’t love it. The MGT has a devout following of locals that keep it going. From the loud drunks playing darts to the chain smoking bar jockeys piling up a shot with each beer. They offer free popcorn to munch on between bro hugs and cigarettes. I haven’t tried their food but several people have told me its good. One good thing about the MGT is that they do have cheap beer specials.

Great place to drink cheap beer, smoke(due to the PA laws), and watch a game on their many flat screen tv’s… Expect… locals and your clothes to smell after you leave… DIVE bar people!
