The food is pretty good. I have had some of the shrimp meals, and the Fajitas are also quite good. Chips and salsa and beans are delicious. Service is friendly, but inconsistent. One woman who has served us twice does not seem to know what she is doing and is not getting any better. I eat here with my family; you can count on pretty good food and decent service. It is nice to sit down for a good Mexican meal amongst all of these quick-serve Mexican places.

Best South Valley Mexican hands down! The warm bean dip(that’s lard in them beans) and salsa are an awesome(free) start. They keep it coming, so don’t fill up because we’ve never been disappointed in an entrée there. The Camarones A La Costa Azul are the most evil invention on the planet – bacon wrapped shrimp, fried, served on a sizzling skillet with fajita onions and topped with Jack cheese(WHA-HAT??? Should that even be legal?) The carne asada is flavorful, tender, PLENTIFUL, mouth-watering perfection. The enchiladas are spot on, the servers are friendly. This is the stuff. Si tiene hambre, va a La Costa!

Food wasn’t bad at all. Most of it was actually really good. Really liked the salsa flavor. However, a big bummer was that the meat(carne asada) had a hint of natural gas taste to it. So even though it was subtle it took away from the rich taste that usually comes with that dish. This was my first time so I’m not sure if that’s the normal taste or a one time taste. Only three stars b/c of the off, unnatural flavoring, taste in the meat.

The refried beans and salsa are the only reason I continually eat here. The service is so bad. They are always understaffed. Many times you’ll sit at your table for twenty minutes before being greeted and get your drinks. The food is overpriced. Other than that I live this place. La Hacienda in Draper is far superior.

I had the carne asada with a mole chicken enchelada. All of the food was excellent and filling. Service was very quick and kind. I love how they bring you salsa and beans with your chips. Always a great experience. It is a little on the pricey side.

My first experience at La Costa started out good but then came crashing down when I received my food. It may have been my order but more on that later. Let me start at the beginning. I had a huge craving for Mexican food so as soon as I drove past La Costa, I flipped around and pulled in; I swear I could smell the food from the parking lot(yum!) When I walked in, the place was packed! This should be a good sign but I stood there for quite a long time, waiting for them to find me a table for only one person. Once I sat down, I was very pleased that they brought out chips and salsa AND beans! This was really exciting as I LOVE re-fried beans and theirs happen to be excellent. I was also very excited about the multiple vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu! The waitress looked overwhelmed and was not very friendly or knowledgeable when I asked about GF Substitutions. I should have just stuck with the spinach and cheese enchilada but I love guacamole so I asked her if she could do the flautas with corn tortillas and sub meat for beans. She kind of looked at me weird and then said ‘ummm OK.’ I waited quite some time for my food(very busy place) and was extremely disappointed when she brought me the plate and walked away(again, not very friendly.) The flautas were about 2 inches square and the ‘side’ of beans and rice were both extremely small(maybe 3 tablespoons each.) The scoop of guacamole was also skimpy; it could have come from a melon baller. I bit into one of the flautas and it exploded into tiny crumbles all over my plate. There was absolutely NOTHING inside of it. My second bit had a small amount of cheese, but that was it. I finished eating the flautas(they were tiny and nothing really to them) and they just kept breaking into pieces all over the place. I ate them as if they were small chips. Overall the place was nice and I think has potential to have great food. I’m hoping what I ordered, flautas with corn tortillas and no meat, was the problem. I am willing to try again with another menu item but their sides are still small for the price!

Probably the best Mexican food in the county. I have had most things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The Salsa is sinfully delicious. I’m not exaggerating. I have never had a bad experience with the service, either.

I love good Mexican food! I’m from California and living in Utah now it is really hard to find. I have tried many places and La Costa is by far the best place for great quality yummy tasting food, good atmosphere, fast service and descent prices. Anyone who tries it, will love it!

This place serves the best chips, salsa and beans. I haven’t tried their normal menu I usually get their daily lunch specials. I usually come here for lunch time with my co workers, the lunch special is decent size food. If you’re from Utah county and into Mexican food this place is comparable to Mi Ranchito, that level.

My wife loves Mexican food. It was her decision to come to LA Costa. The atmosphere is refreshing and it is a quiet restaurant. Living next to Los Hermanos in Lindon. One grows accustomed to less than mediocre Mexican food. La Costa is a special treat that stands out over other Mexican food locations. The platter sizes superb! And so is the food! The chips and salsa are served with a side of refried beans and is delicious! The salsa is made with fire roasted tomatoes and brings along the char with it delivering a much more satisfying taste! The carne asada(which I have ordered twice) is thin and served with delicious rice, beans and green onions. The only complaint is it is a little dry, but that is because if the thin cut, and the flavor makes up for it. Try La Costa for a delicious Mexican food experience.

This place has true 3 star food. It’s not bad, it’s just not that good. The service is fine, the place is clean, but the food is just kind of there. We got quickly seated, looked over the menu, and I picked out a shredded beef burrito with some funny name. Basically it was shredded beef, cheese, rice and beans. Their sauce options are limited. Chili Lime Chalula and Tapatio. They give you some free beans, salsa and chips. Neither of us found them to be very flavorful, but they weren’t bad by any means. Basically it’s hard to recommend this place. I paid $ 11.25 for a large burrito without much flavor. There are other Mexican places around that offer a much more authentic, flavorful experience. It’s hard to offer up much praise when you can have those, for less, just down the street. Check on Unilocal for the higher rated places before you go here. Some better salsa, better hot sauce options, and just a bit more flavor would go a long way towards making this place a little better. Overall they get a 2. 3 star food, okay service, bad price compared to other local Mexican restaurants.

I would really like to give this place 4 stars, but the portions are just way too small compared to other good Mexican places. I’m ok with small portions but don’t want to pay big prices. Pretty much every dish that is worth ordering cost about 9 or 10 bucks. Good quality and excellent service, but mexiquense is a mile down the road with huge portions and comparable quality, and 20% less cost… and no tip required. The chips, salsa, and bean dip are free and definitely worth taking up room in your stomach. I just want the entrée to have more protein in the ratio to flour tortillas… for the price. Example they suggested pork chimichanga but couldn’t even taste the pork. Not enough meat or too much tortilla. Enchiladas and quesdaills are the same. Way too expensive for just some flour and cheese. This is a clean and family friendly sit down restaurant.
