Disgusting! I asked for a caramel latte and they have me straight up black coffee. And when I took it back, the cashier got an attitude with me. And again, when I got my ‘fixed order’ it was very watered down. The place was dirty, and had trash on the floor. 0⁄10 would not recommend coming here.

Great service and great coffee. Donuts were fresh too. Clean and comfortable on the inside.

I’ve been a huge fan of Dunkin’ Donuts since I was a kid. So I was thrilled there was one in the area now. Stopped in and … they were out of almost all the donuts. OK… [begin random aside] They used to have an ad campaign«Time to make the donuts» about how obsessive they were about always making fresh donuts and having tons of donut varieties. I’d suggest that the manager of the Ames Dunkin’ Donuts might want to get together with the staff and review those old ads. The concept of a donut place making donuts seems to be lost on someone working there. [end random aside] Anyway, ended up getting some donut holes which weren’t very good. If you buy donuts and they are still sitting on your counter 3 days later, that’s a bad sign. So in summary: they were out of most of their main product. Tried something else, it wasn’t good. Not impressed.

Oh my god, I just had the worst experience in my life!!! So I just went to Dunkin Donuts for free coffee since I’m a veteran, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I’ve had good experiences at other locations but this was awful. I waited in line for like, 10 minutes, it smells like stale water and moldy coffee in there. I almost vomited from the smell. The cashier was incompetent, had no clue what a DD214 was, which are discharge papers, had to consult the manager, the manager was rude. And then the cashier THREW the receipt at me!!! They gave me no cream, it was a terrible experience! I expect to be treated with respect, even if I’m not a veteran, but I am and not to be cocky, but this is a day dedicated to men and women who raised their hand to serve. We deserve the utmost respect. I’m never going there again. It was abysmal. Nobody should go there and it should be condemned. I’m pretty sure that there are health code violations. And now I’m late to class because of that filthy place! And I have an exam today! So thank you Dunkin Donuts!!!

Incredibly slow. They have gotten my order wrong or given it to the wrong person or forgot to even make my order too many times. I went in today just to grab a couple donuts because there’s no way they could mess that up. They did, by completely ignoring me for ten minutes until I walked out. I don’t hate DD but I will never come back to this one.

I had a phenomenal visit to this Dunkin! After a really long day and exhausting drive, I plopped my stuff down in an empty lobby. The wifi was solid, and the staff were friendly enough to comment on my Guardians of the Galaxy shirt. After finishing my first iced coffee, they offered me a free refill. But the best part was coming back two days later on my way out of town, and they remembered my order! The Dunkin I go to every day back home can’t even do that. The store was remarkably clean, and I would definitely recommend it!

Open 24 hours, but closed on a Sunday morning at 8 am? Lame… I will be buying my donuts elsewhere from now on…

I’m not particularly fond of this location. The staff has been okay. I’ve been here 5+ times, and generally, the staff is indifferent but never rude and despite watching people(and myself!) take way too long to pick out their donuts, they’ve never been rude or rushed anyone along. I’ve had a couple nice cashiers on occasion, and the drive-thru has always been pretty prompt. The staff knows what their doing. As for the food, though, that’s really the hit or miss. Anything that seems to need to be made at the time of order seems to usually be okay at any time in the day(like my partner loves their grilled cheese sandwiches). However, for most other food such as donuts or coffee, your best chance of getting tasty food is during the morning hours. I came in for a Cookie Dough Iced Coffee, and after driving away, within a sip, it tasted so burnt I tossed the whole thing straight in the garbage. Last night, I went in for doughnuts around 6PM, and they were out of over 70% of donuts, and while we did get some donuts(with a friendly cashier), most of them were pretty tough to bite into, didn’t taste particularly good, and honestly tasted pretty stale. We might end up eating them, but I’m betting they’ll probably go in the garbage. Tables usually seem clean enough on the inside. I’ve never sat around to eat anything there. The straws and other materials usually seem stocked, and I’m usually in and out of the store within 5 minutes. I don’t go during peak times, though. Final thoughts: Being an Iowa native, I’ve never really been to Dunkin’ Donuts until this one was in town. Based upon this location’s service, I probably would never feel the urge to go to another one. However, multiple people have just told me that this location isn’t the best. I think I could agree. Your chance for best food seems to be in the mornings. I definitely am not going out of my way to revisit, but I keep coming back on occasion hoping things will be better. They haven’t yet.

I don’t like their coffee but I love their Chicken salad croissant. But I will recommend to have this sandwich in breakfast when they make their fresh chicken salad.

I had to drop this rating a star. I talked to the owner(on the phone) about the issues I had with them running out of cups, lids, straws, cream all the time. He was very defensive and dismissive of my concerns. He tried to blame it on the employees being new. He said«thanks for your feedback» in the way someone would say f-off. I posted on the DD corporate wall because they were out of cream for three days straight, so obviously he doesn’t give a crap about the customer experience. For the first time in two years, I reloaded my Starbucks card. I won’t go there anymore no matter how good the coffee is.

Ordered 3 chocolate glazed donuts for co– workers. Got to work and they were like soggy cake. I came to the Ames location a few days later to bring them back and was told«that’s how they are in the summer, with the heat»! Not acceptable. I was told I would have to pay to replace them — no exchange. They just lost a good customer… all because they wouldn’t replace $ 3.00 worth of donuts… Plus the girl at the counter was less than friendly. Funny how quickly negative reviews travel. C

I shouldn’t have to wait thirty minutes in store to get an iced coffee. On the Mondays of finals week, a coffee place on campus should have more than two people working. Good cookie dough coffee, terrible service.

My boyfriend and I took our last final exam this morning and went to Dunkin Donuts to celebrate. Being college students, we are on a tight budget and rarely treat ourselves but this morning was a small celebration before graduating. The customer service was terrible. We received attitude from the staff ordering in the drive thru and they got our order wrong – twice. We got four donuts and a vanilla latte! Not that hard… We drove away only to find the latte was wrong. Donuts are great, but not worth the poor service.

2 chicken bacon ranch sandwiches, one with hash browns, one XL coffee and 2 donuts for under $ 14. I just wish it tasted as good as the price was! Coffee was tasty(says hubby) and I liked the hash browns but the chicken bacon ranch sandwich comes in a rock solid bun — i’m all for crusty fresh bread, but not the kind that needs a jack hammer to break through it. The chicken, cheese and bacon were buried in this heaving mound of impenetrable bread and the ranch element was all but invisible! The donuts were the hero of the morning, I had the Boston scream and hubby had the pumpkin spice and we both demolished them, the 4th star is all for the donuts!

Since opening this store has always been rather slow in fulfilling orders, however today was absolutely unacceptable. This was not due to laziness of the employees, but seemingly poor management as only 2 people were working at a key time of the day for the store, right around 8am-9am. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and sat down to wait for it, knowing it would take a while as there was a line at the counter. I eventually walked up to the pick up counter and one of the employees had to ask me what I was waiting for as if they didn’t even know or remember that I had ordered something. Once I got my bagel I looked at the time and I had waited a full 20 minutes for my order(I am not just saying this, it really was that long). I usually don’t complain about things but this store is beginning to have me looking for other options even though I can walk there from work. I also agree with the other comments in other reviews. The tables are always dirty, they don’t seem to ever have many donuts if you get there after 8am, and I think I make better coffee at home with my cheap coffee maker. This place needs some better management or they need to request more funding for more staff from their national office(doubtful that is even possible).

What’s the point of visiting a DD if they don’t have any donuts available? Sure, it was bordering right around noon on a Thursday, but if you’re out of glazed donuts and most kinds of holes what kind of a doughnut store are you? And since I don’t usually ‘review’ obvious chains like this unless things were either exceptional or — as in this case — subpar, I feel compelled to point out that the ‘famous’ coffee everyone is always going on and on about is just about on par with McD’s. So take that for what you will.
