If you think you can’t get delicious, fresh pizza from a slice joint… try Antonio’s. Lots of fun too, the staff obviously love their jobs and always have something witty and friendly to say to everyone.

I totally rely on these people for good eats, but have limited myself to the artichoke on pesto because the meat slices are just so salty. I love them, but just too salty. Wish they had the seafood more readily. Will they ever get another space so that it’s not so crowded?

Extraordinary — not really your typical pizza shop. As long as you like bread, there’s something for everyone. Their Margeherita is classic, they’ve got a ‘salad pizza’ with no sauce and fresh veggies, the Tex-Mex based pies and inspired and the Sicilian crunchy and delish. They seem to have gotten more expensive over the last year or so, but still well worth the asking price!

Amazing pizza!!! Love the fact that it is open late night after the bars close. They have many interesting toppings and combinations, I always try something new! There is almost ALWAYS a line but service is fast and it is DEFINITELY worth the wait!

This is some of the best pizza I have ever had. Great creative flavor combinations and always plenty to choose from. A little pricey for a slice but the size of the slices are pretty large so you only need 1 – 2 slices a person

I’m gonna start with: I’ve never considered myself a pizza person. Ever. … Until I had Antonio’s. Their options are game changers. I was a bit awkward the first time I was there as I didn’t know how to order/which way to walk in the narrow pizza viewing area. But the guys tend to be helpful and will direct you.

I went to undergrad in Amherst and FREAKINGLOVE Antonio’s. Anytime I visit MA, I make sure to stop by and eat their pizza. I always get the steak taco and honey mustard slice. They’re amazing hot or cold. I always get a pie to go and drive it all the way back to jersey to enjoy with my family. Their dollar hot cheese after midnight is pretty bomb too!

This is coming from someone from New York City/New Jersey(aka the pizza capital of the U.S.). Antonio’s is AWESOME. I only had a plain slice but it was delicious and can compete with NY pizza. They do late night $ 1 slices from 12am-2am. Can’t beat that! Note: there will be a line, but it moves fast!

This was my first time visiting my boyfriend in MA. On his recommendation, we decided to go to Antonio’s to pick up some slices to bring home for dinner. Sure, the place isn’t very big but it’s perfectly fine for a quick slice on the go. The best thing about this pizza joint(at least for me) was that they offer a vegan option, woo-to-the-hoo! My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken w/ranch dressing & bacon slice. I had the über tasty roasted veggie loaded slice. I’ll definitely give Antonio’s another go the next time I’m in town. — One Love

For all the raves I was expecting more. The sale by the slice is NY style, but the crust is too dry and weak, the pizza slices sit too long cold and the guys serving them don’t let them get hot enough to get back to melty-gooey goodness. Instead they taste like warmed cardboard with toppings. Those were a hodge-podge of quality from the over-fried eggplant slices that were coldly greasy to the artichokes on the other slice that I got that were out of the can briny and nasty. The ordering system is crowded and unpleasant. You have to squeeze into the corner to do the pizza perp walk of cold congealed pies that will be heated up for you. College students escaping institutional meal plans may find this place a treat, but if you’ve had world-class pizza this isn’t really even a Two Star, but ½ works.

This review is very overdue. ANTONIO’S! This is the best lunch spot to bring out-of-towners in Amherst. The pizza itself is just okay, but the creative toppings make it special and worth returning again and again. Anything un-pizza-like you can imagine — it’s on the pizza. Pick something crazy and have fun with it!

Somehow in four years of visits to Amherst to see my daughter at UMass, I never made it to Antonio’s. She graduated in May and yesterday we moved her out of her apartment, and as I piloted the packed U-Haul truck through downtown she said«You have to have Antonio’s before we leave!» We made a quick stop in for takeout and I was blown away by the sheer variety of combinations. Half the fun was the outsized personality of the counter guy who prepped the orders — half carnival barker, half friend you didn’t know you had, as he enthusiastically supported your choices, slid them into the oven to warm them, and somehow kept the long and unruly line of patrons flowing smoothly. The by-the-slice-only business model obviously works well for them. They have probably fifty or more pizzas in about twenty different combos premade and ready, and man do they fly out the door. The slices are big and for most people two is enough, and at $ 3.50 a slice it’s a good deal. It’s fun to be able to try, for such a small investment, pizzas that you might be leery of springing the bucks for, for an entire pie. I had a slice of the chicken quesadilla(complete with pieces of crunchy tortilla) and a slice of the pesto artichoke. They were both well-made and flavorful. Whenever I’m back in the area I’d definitely stand in line again to grab a slice or two!

Best pizza for a very long way, and that’s from a NYER Giants fan. Yes this pizza stands toe to toe with the great pizza shops of new York city, not bad for a little shop in the middle of Mass

I had my first slice of BBQ chicken and red onion when visiting prospective colleges many years ago, and it played a frighteningly large role in my decision. It’s still one of my favorite pizzas. Antonio’s is my first stop when I visit Amherst. Toppings are delicious and that crust is amazing!

Lots of choices. Pretty dang fresh-tasting for being(essentially) rewarmed slices. …and as a personal plea… Don’t be the guy pointing to the case(over and over and over) and asking, «what’s THIS one?» with 15 hungry half-drunk kids in line behind you. I mean, it’s a $ 3 slice. Go crazy. Take a risk if it looks good — even if you’re not sure exactly what it is. It’s pizza; it’s tasty. Remember: Don’t be THAT guy. Thank you.

Smelled a little like a fart, yet again was most likely just the shrimp on my pizza. I give it 4 slices of Dominos– great job fellas.

Possibly the best pizza you will ever eat. If I’m craving good pizza, I will make a two hour drive just to go there. The place is small but everything moves fast. You walk in towards the right and salivate as you pass by the display of pizzas. Give your order and the pizza is thrown in the oven to be heated. The wait is quick and in the meantime look for a free table. There are only three small tables, two free standing island tables, and a small bar table. It’s okay if you don’t find a seat. You’ll find that the moment the magnificent slice of pizza touches your lips you will slowly make your way to the front to get another slice. My recommendation would be the white slice(Sicilian) or black bean avocado. Yummmm!

Ehh… not that special. I started with an artichoke/roasted pepper/herbs combination which was like a salad on a pizza, and that was good and generous. The Hawaiian was average. And I was losing interest by the time I got to the quesadilla and BBQ chicken we’d ordered on advice from other reviewers. That’s not to say Antonio’s has bad pizza. But my expectation were high after the Unilocal reviews, and in town for one night this was clearly the place to try. It’s takeout pizza, folks. The comment that«there’s not a lot of seating» should be parsed to «this is a takeout place, but there are a few benches under bright lights if it’s cold outside and you want to eat your pizza while it’s still hot». Interestingly, almost all the regulars who were coming in were ordering«regular» pizza… pepperoni, a plain Sicilian etc, none of the fancy stuff. Staff was friendly and the pizza was up quickly though not as hot as one would like.
